"Good place for Siena - Sept/Oct 2023 Good and spacious access. The campsite is well signposted on the road early on. English and German spoken. Reservations are not absolutely necessary at this time (site was 70% full), as the amount must be paid in advance! Replies by e-mail are answered. The upper two terraces are reserved for large camper vans and caravans. The top terrace is a little noisy in the morning due to the morning traffic. The sanitary facilities are good, clean, sufficient and equipped with paper, even if the pitch was 100% booked. However, the taps including the dishwashers need a revival. It drips from all the seals and the sensor-activated taps do roughly what they want....Italy dolce vita. Replacement would be necessary just in terms of water consumption. The restaurant has great service and the menu is extensive and affordable. Locals also use this restaurant, and that says something about the quality. You can get bread without pre-ordering in the market. The pool area incl. bar is nice. But you need a swimming cap...of course available on site for a fee...😉. I'll leave out whether it's any good.... The price was E 40.- for 2P and ele. in the NS.

"Camping in beautiful Siena, the center of Tuscany - Camping Colleverde Siena is the ideal starting point for exploring the old town of Siena with the Piazza del Campo and the beautiful alabaster cathedral. The campsite is located on the north-eastern edge of the city and is easy to reach via the RA3 highway coming from Florence. The site is located in a residential area and is pleasantly quiet from 8 pm, although Siena is always very busy. All pitches in the upper area are roughly gravelled and offer enough space for motorhomes and large caravans. 230V is available at many central points. Vans and small caravans will also find nice pitches on grass pitches in the lower part, where it is even quieter. Some mobile homes for rent on the edge of the site. There is an older, small pool area with sun loungers and parasols, but it is clean and well maintained. Tents are pitched on grass in the lower edge area. Caravans and large motorhomes should look for a pitch on the first 3 plateaus, as the steep access road means that the lower part of the campsite is almost inaccessible or can only be reached with great driving skill. It is recommended that you state the length of your camper van or caravan when booking or arriving so that there are no unwanted problems with the allocated pitch. We parked our 7.60 m caravan on the third level and were able to get there quite easily. The plateaus are slightly inclined towards the valley, not flat. The wash houses are simple but functional. Showers could be better equipped. A small sandwich store and a pizzeria and café-bar round off the facilities at Colleverde Camping. The campsite is certainly not the place to spend 3 weeks on a relaxing vacation, but it is perfect as a starting point for exploring southern Tuscany, Siena, Volterra and even Florence (good train connections). We stayed there for a few days in June and had a great time.

"Only one WC cassette disposal - The pitch is beautifully situated as described. Almost all pitches are very sloping. If you stand at the bottom of the slope, you have to walk many meters up the steep hill with the toilet cassette. The motorhome disposal at the bottom is outdated and offers no possibility for this

"Good location for visiting Siena - Good location for visiting the old town of Siena. Stayed here for one night on a trip to Tuscany. There are pitches for caravans in the upper part of the campsite. However, some of these are more like a parking lot, but overall ok for visiting Siena. Sanitary facilities are clean.

"Viewing - We were only on this site for a short time but enjoyed it very much. The place is quiet and clean. It is about a 30 minute walk to the old town.

Camping Siena Colleverde, the camp site in Siena, is in an excellent panoramic position with a view of the city and the Palio, and with the Chianti hills just behind it. Well connected with the city centre (2.5km) and the …FFSS station (1.5km). Ideal for visiting Siena but also for a great vacation in the heart of Tuscany. The towns of Montalcino, Montepulciano, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano are only a few kilometres away. The campsite was completely renovated in 2008. It offers a great restaurant/pizzeria which serves typical local dishes and international, a bar and mini market, and most importantly a pool with its own bar.

Coming from Grosseto: follow the Superstarda and Exit Siena Est and continue along Viale P. Toselli following the signs for the Hospital (Ospedale/Poloclinico ) when you get close to the hospital you will find signs for the Camping. Coming From Montevarchi (SP 408): Continue along the SP 408 until you reach a roundabout, take the first turn in the direction of the hospital (Ospedale/Poloclinico) continue through the next 3 roundabout always following the signs for the Camping or the Hospital (Ospedale/Poloclinico ) which is in the same area.
