Large square, poorly frequented in the middle of August. No food store. No offers. But quiet and decent sanitary facilities.

Camping at the nature reserve
The reception at the site was very friendly. The pitches are generously laid out. Sufficient pitches even for larger campers. Only the access road is somewhat restricted by trees and hedges. If you are out late at night, you should definitely borrow a key, otherwise you will be locked out! The deposit... for the key is €20. It's about a 20-minute walk to the sea if you take the "back exit" of the campsite through the adjacent nature reserve. The sanitary facilities are a bit older but functional. As there are several showers and toilets, there is no risk of congestion. Unfortunately, there is only cold water for washing up. You pay €26.60 for an overnight stay with a camper, two adults and 10A electricity.

Beautiful, quiet campground located in a natural area.
Campsite ideal for peace seekers. Located in an area of dunes. Walks and cycling are a must. Enjoying the sea is also possible.

Sanitary building unheated, showers only lukewarm and that comes only after 1-2 minutes. You have to bring your own toilet paper
The site is very nice, pitches are large, water/waste water directly at the site. Supermarket 600m away, 5km to the center of Den Helder

CP is very conveniently located directly on the dunes in Den Helder. Den Helder itself (marine museum, Texel ferry, supermarkets etc.) is easy to reach by bike (a "must" in Holland anyway). The pitches are ok. We were bothered by the unheated (unheatable?) sanitary facilities, which were reasonably clean,... but where there were a lot of bugs (mosquitoes etc.), as the ventilation hatches were obviously not fitted with insect screens. I also found one power socket (for a hairdryer) in the ladies' sanitary facilities rather meagre, although I didn't have to wait myself as the campsite was not very busy. Will we come back again???. If we do, then only because of the good location and the reasonable price (on Ascension Day almost everywhere else in Holland HS prices).

Pure nature. The sanitary facilities are very clean, but we always had problems with the hot water when showering and the water remained cold after inserting the coins, but that is also the only real negative point. Otherwise definitely recommended.

A very clean, well-kept campsite with large pitches. We rented two tent pitches, were there with two tents (6-person and 3-person), left space between the tents for sitting and for the barbecue and still had enough space for 4 cars. The sanitary facilities were clean. The only downside was that you couldn't... adjust the water temperature in the showers. As a result, the water was very hot. You walk about 10 minutes to the beach and half to three quarters of an hour to Den Helder. A car is therefore advisable. There is a supermarket nearby for shopping. The campsite managers were helpful and understand German. We were there with seven people and paid around €21 per person. You had to buy shower tokens separately (20 cents for 5 minutes). All in all, we had a lovely long weekend.
