In retrospect, I can't appreciate this highly enough with the otherwise rule-conscious staff. Thank youНегативиThe operator does not or only insufficiently point out the ban on dogs on the main site. Access to the beautiful site with lake shore, beach, park,... is forbidden with dogs. The recreational value of the campsite, which is aggressively advertised, is clearly diminishing. The overnight accommodation for campers with dogs is poor in terms of facilities and appearance.Camping with a dog - avoid the siteCampers with dogs are accommodated on a separate, offside pitch. In contrast to the main pitch, this pitch is clearly inferior in terms of facilities and appearance. Dogs are not allowed on the main site. This means that access to the park with its beautiful trees, the small beach, the lakeshore with... a view over the idyllic lake, .....all of the things that the operator uses to advertise its site cannot be used with dogs. The operator does not point this out at all, or not clearly enough.
As the sanitary facilities,... are also located on the main square, good planning is also required here, as dogs are also not allowed on the very spacious and covered forecourt.
It may also be difficult for campers with children who have a dog with them. When visiting the beach playground, you have to choose between supervising your dog and accompanying your children and grandchildren.
The separate pitch for campers with dogs is already visually very inferior, so you have to accept compromises in terms of access, the path and hedge trimming. There is only one lantern in the front area. The flashlight is very much in demand here. There are apparently permanent camper pitches that give the impression that they have not been maintained for a long time (partly overgrown). There are no trees. The lawn is well-kept. The electrical connections at the box are OK.
I was treated very friendly by the campsite staff with my dog, but also extremely rudely.

My husband and I have actually become permanent campers and look forward to every day we get to spend... there.
The small lake invites us to watch the many birds every day. And when the red kite circles over the lake, our happiness is perfect. It's actually a bit difficult to describe exactly what makes this place so special. I only know one thing...... drive through the gate and Zack..... happy.
Hence my title. After all the negative news and stress of everyday life, you need a place to put your brain in a safe place. Hofgut Schöneren does that every day.

The offers from the tenants were almost all big lies.
The lake is just a swamp with pathogens,
the meadow is only mowed where we were so the guests and the crowning glory are the electrical boxes in the visible... area all new but where you can not see them well all disintegrate in itself, in the rain life-threatening.
We spoke to a couple of permanent campers about why they don't report this and the answer was short - they don't want to be given notice or banned from the site, I can understand that almost all of them are over 70 and all of them want to be able to live out the few years in peace with the tenant.

Cycling tours from the campsite are only possible... to a very limited extent. They often take you along roads. There are no cycle paths.
The lake has very little water due to the drought and is almost completely overgrown with aquatic plants. The operators are extremely friendly. Overall, the site is very clean, apart from the smallest details in the sanitary building (although we were there in the absolute low season). We especially liked the peace... and quiet, the proximity to nature and the uncomplicated arrival and departure. Furthermore, the operators were very friendly and made a very nice impression, even though we were only there for two nights. If you are looking for peace and quiet and want to go for walks and bike rides, this is the place for you. In summer it is certainly perfect for swimming. The children's playground is partly in need of improvement but large and varied. You can... visit the sauna for 12.50 euros (2 people). Hot dishwater costs 20 ct. There is a charge of 1.50 per day for garbage. Right at the beginning you have to pay a deposit of 25 euros for the card for the barrier. Electricity is charged separately. We are sorry that it was too empty for you shortly after the Easter holidays, but due to the reported weather conditions (frost and wet and cold) it can happen that guests refrain from camping. We are an industry that is very dependent on the weather... without having any influence on it. The twenty cents for rinsing water is the result of campers washing their caravans with hot water from the showers, which caused the cost of providing hot water to skyrocket.
In order not to have to pass these costs on to the guests, it was regulated in this way.
Now a small note on the overnight price, they paid 31.00 euros for the night 2EW/2children including showers and the possibility to use a separate baby changing room with two tubs for bathing the children.
The garbage fee is paid once and amounts to 1.70 euros.
Electricity is based on your individual consumption and is charged at 0.50 cents per kilowatt hour.
The deposit of 25.00 euros for the barrier card is a deposit to ensure that the card is returned undamaged on the day of departure and will be credited in full.

The new sanitary building is great, the older shower house would benefit from a renovation and the cleaning lady should also be renovated, i.e. replaced, as a lot of things... are done in a standardized way here. The operator is very friendly, but would rather take photos than look after the site. Generally speaking, in 2013 camping is a bit more like a (badly) mown meadow with electricity! The tent pitches offer plenty of space.
