"Camping close to nature in Hesse - The campsite is easy to reach from the A5 and we only stayed there with our caravan for one night on our stage north. The reception was friendly and uncomplicated. There is a sufficiently large waiting lane in front of the reception. The access road is a little narrow in places and leads past a large farm. We spent one night with our caravan on the lower motorhome pitches, the only pitches with electricity, fresh water and waste water connections. All other pitches only have electricity (CE). The pitches are located on different terraces on a slope. The pitches on the different levels are relatively straight and you stand on grass, with free choice of pitch. We did not use WLAN. The large sanitary building is very efficient and has just been partially renovated. Toilets and showers are separate. There is soap and paper. The showers are hot and clean. Cassettes are emptied at the wash house. The site has few gardens but is very natural and quiet. There is no kiosk or restaurant on site. Unfortunately not in the nearby village either. A restaurant and a pizzeria are approx. 6-7 km away. The campsite has potential (despite some somewhat overgrown permanent campers) and you can see the efforts of modernization. There are two new glamping tents for rent. New energy columns on the tourist pitches and the friendly site management round off the good impression we gained during our short stay there. The Groß-Eichen campsite is highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

"Sympathetically original campsite - Characterized by friendly and unobtrusive long-term campers in the rear area, with large and attractive unparceled tourist pitches in the demand area. The campsite is often used as a stopover site by people passing through. Vacation campers with low comfort requirements like us, who place more value on plenty of space and privacy than on fancy frills, can feel very comfortable here for weeks. Thanks to the slightly sloping terraced hillside location, you have an unobstructed view of the beautiful landscape almost everywhere. There is little to be found on the Internet about the Vogelsberg region, which is still underdeveloped in terms of tourism. The regional tourist information offices, on the other hand, provide information about a surprising number of attractive leisure and excursion destinations. The simple sanitary facilities - already somewhat outdated but obviously recently renovated - always made a well-kept and clean impression during our three-week vacation stay. The campsite is still something of an insider tip for nature-loving campers. However, the operators are clearly working on giving the campsite a more modern character.

"Super stopover - On my journey from the far north to the deep south, I spent one night at this highly recommended campsite for a relaxing stopover. What I particularly liked: 1. not far from the A5 (approx. 16 min.) 2. the extremely friendly and competent welcome from Ms. Ritter 3. thanks to the size, many free places despite the high season 4. very clean, newly renovated sanitary facilities 5. thanks to the open barrier, I was able to drive on at 6am! The Ritter family have only been running the campsite for a short time. The "unfriendly and stroppy groundskeeper" complained about in previous reviews is definitely a thing of the past! I will definitely be back!!!

"Campsite with a lot of potential - definitely support it! - The campsite was only taken over a few months ago. The operators are super nice! The site is in a fantastic location and has huge potential! At the moment, everything needs to be renovated and we're keeping our fingers crossed that this will work out. This means that the infrastructure cannot be fairly assessed at the moment. Absolutely support it - this could soon be a great place for all nature-loving campers! We are (unfortunately) only here in transit for one night, but we will definitely be back!
