"no longer what it used to be - We can take the liberty of making this assessment, we were at this campsite a few years ago and experienced hospitality and genuine service. They were still prepared for guests from other European countries, even if they didn't speak their language. Regional specialties were pointed out and offered. We assume that the management has changed. As written, the only real plus point is the lush nature and then it ends. Much of the run-down infrastructure could be repaired with a little dedication and hard work without spending a lot of money. We still had very fond memories of the small restaurant on the square, but now we had to be careful that my wife, who has difficulty walking, didn't fall off the stairs together with the handrail. Back then there were menus in 5 languages, which was a great idea, but now there's nothing left of it. We felt like we'd fallen into a job creation scheme. The two girls were completely overwhelmed with the 5 occupied tables. It wasn't even possible to communicate in English, the waitress played with her tongue piercing while serving us and the other one couldn't calculate 2x19.50 + 6... We will not visit this place again on our trips to France and cannot recommend it. Sorry is not possible

"Very disappointing for us - After the positive comments before, we had chosen this place as an overnight stay on the return journey from the south of France Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The owner couple are friendly and accommodating. We were allowed to choose a pitch and they were very helpful. However, the sanitary facilities (except for the baby bath) were not acceptable for us. Not even half of the pitches were occupied, yet the sanitary facilities looked neglected. Spider webs everywhere you look, hair, broken fittings, the list goes on and on - what a shame... Because with the quiet, idyllic location, you could certainly get more out of it. In our opinion, the restaurant was just expensive fast food. Also disappointing for us. We will not be back.

"Idyllic and very quiet - I used the site as a stopover on the outward and return journey to the south of France. The reception is very friendly. In addition to French, communication also works in English and, if necessary, with hands and feet. The site is in a very idyllic location by a small river. The mostly shady pitches are divided by hedges and are also large enough for larger caravans. The ground is grass. The campsite's small restaurant is excellent and should be used. Menus are available in German, English and Dutch. English is the second language spoken on site. The sanitary facilities are functional and clean. In the neighboring village (6 km) there is a Super U for larger purchases.

"ideal stopover ... - ...on the way south or back. Simply beautifully situated with a very good location under tall trees with light shade and a well-kept lawn. The reception is uncomplicated, simple and friendly. The adjoining restaurant is well worth a visit. This was the first time I had experienced international service in its purest form, with a menu for almost every common European language, German, English, Dutch, etc. and the food tasted very good with specialties from the region. We'll be stopping there again on our next trip south!

The 3 Ours campsite is located in the Jura town of Montbarrey, on the banks of the Loue river. This makes the campsite an ideal starting point for a real holiday in nature. You can also swim in your own …pool (outdoor pool). In addition, many activities are organised for children and there are several sports fields (boules, volleyball, badminton). As a hiker or cyclist, you will of course explore the beautiful surroundings. The campsite is located directly on the Loue River and looks very pretty at first glance, thanks to all the greenery. The pitches by the water in particular offer a beautiful view. So get out of the tent and into the water! The pitches are well separated from each other by low hedges. The numerous trees on the grounds provide shade and privacy. The sanitary facilities are located next to the reception and are well maintained. The campsite has its own restaurant and cosy bar. You can buy the essentials at the campsite shop, but there are plenty of larger supermarkets and specialist shops in Montbarrey and Dole. There are several signposted hiking trails that start right at the campsite. One beautiful route follows the tracks of the ‘Radeliers’ (raftsmen), who used to use the river to transport their felled logs. The tour, which you can follow, takes about four to five hours and ends at an authentic lumberjack cabin.

Drive towards Dôle then follow the sign for Pontarlier, Arc-et-Senan or Salins-les-Bains. On arrival at Mont-sous- Vaudrey, continue for 1 km on leaving the village and turn to the left, towards Monbarrey. Les 3 Ours is just after the bridge, …at the entrance to the village.
