It is in a quiet location directly on the Rhine. The pitches are spacious and many of them have a view of the river. There is a very nice footpath and cycle path along the Rhine right next to the site. There is... a moderately priced Italian restaurant on site. The sanitary facilities are simple but very well maintained and clean. Depending on the pitch, the path to the sanitary facilities is a little further. You can walk to Geisenheim, a cozy little town with a good selection of restaurants and cafes, in about 15 minutes. You can also take the train from the local station to Rüdesheim, Koblenz etc. or in the opposite direction... to Wiesbaden, Eltville etc. You can also reach these places very easily via the cycle path that runs directly past the campsite.
If you have a pitch right on the shore, you can watch the boats passing by.
You can visit the restaurant on the site, but I would prefer other places in the village or the nearby boathouse.
The choice of bread service is very limited and could be improved.

However, the shopping facilities... are only accessible by bike, car or on foot (with a walking time of approx. 15 minutes), which could be a disadvantage.
Geisenheim is a charming town on the Rhine, known for its important wine-growing and fruit-growing tradition. The town is also known for its renowned research and educational institution, Hochschule Geisenheim University. The university enjoys worldwide recognition for its research and teaching in the fields of viticulture, oenology, horticulture and landscape architecture.
For visitors to the campsite in Geisenheim, the town offers many opportunities for exploration and discovery. There are many picturesque hiking trails and cycle routes in and around Geisenheim, leading through vineyards, orchards and forests. The town itself also offers a variety of restaurants, cafés and stores where you can sample local specialties and products.
Especially in summer, Geisenheim is a popular destination for tourists who want to explore the region. There are numerous wine festivals and culinary events where you can sample the local wines and dishes. One highlight is the annual Rheingau Music Festival, where renowned musicians from all over the world perform.
All in all, Geisenheim offers a perfect combination of nature, culture and history and is an ideal starting point for discovery tours along the Rhine and the surrounding regions.Автоматично преведено.

We received a very friendly welcome and were shown around the site.
The sanitary facilities are old, but were always clean (you always felt like you saw the cleaning lady when you were there).
There is no bread roll service but the most necessary... things (drinks, toothbrush, ... are available at reception. Apart from that, the site doesn't offer much (no WLAN, no playground, ...), but is a good starting point for excursions. It's a good 3 km by bike along the Rhine to Rüdesheim and 1.5 km to the nearest REWE and drinks market.
We didn't hear the road, but the boats can be quite loud. But you have to expect that if you book a pitch directly on the Rhine.Автоматично преведено.

You can see the Rhine from most of the pitches, even in the 2nd row this is still possible. The fence directly in front of the site is a bit of a hindrance. However, there is no other option as there is a cycle path between the Rhine and the campsite. The pitches are... very uneven and have a slope towards the Rhine. The owner of the site tells you how to position yourself, i.e. all campers with the door facing in the same direction. You need a lot of wedges to get the caravan or motorhome straight. However, these are also provided.
The site has water and electricity connections, but no waste water. There is also no place where you can dump your waste water or rinse water. You have to do this at the sanitary facilities. This can be a long way.
There are still some permanent campers who have neglected their pitch. It doesn't look so nice. However, the permanent campers should disappear permanently.
The sanitary facilities are 80's youth hostel style. However, I have never experienced anywhere that they are continuously cleaned. I was there frequently during our stay and the cleaning lady was practically always on site.
The restaurant offers delicious Italian food for a reasonable price. You can also take your food to the pitch.
Important: Never arrive without bicycles.
The distance to Rüdesheim is approx. 3.4 km. There was no reason for any complaints during my entire stay. A big plus point is that there is none of the usual shower coin terror at German campsites on this site. You can just take a warm shower. There is an Italian restaurant on site. View of the Rhine from almost all pitches. The road is clearly audible, especially on the rear pitches. The first row (seen from the Rhine) slopes steeply and is shady due to the trees (satellite reception?).... Spacious pitches, plenty of free space between the rows. There is often a lot of noise from the nearby music college, almost like at the OpenAir in Wacken, twice during our 5 days. The sanitary facilities are a bit older, but ok and clean. The mixer taps in the showers are inadequate; after each press it comes back cold. Bread roll service available. Italian restaurant on site highly recommended. The size of the pitches was also sufficient. What we didn't like so much were the long walks to the exit with the dogs, especially in the morning. And we found the ambient noise a bit annoying. Sanitary building is not the most modern and in the shower cubicles there is only ONE hook and no further storage space for clothes and towel, whoever manages to take them off/put them... on dry, especially in the cooler season, must have acrobatic talent. Cleanliness was ok during our stay. We ate very well twice in the Italian restaurant on site, the lively Rüdesheim is 3.5 km away and easy to reach by bike / footpath. The lady at reception gave me perfect directions to the pitch, including an explanation of the charge point, and she also offered to help me drive onto the chocks, and I had a pitch with grass paving stones... directly behind reception. - Clean sanitary facilities with 80s charm - everything a camper needs (washing machines, dryers) - top location, view of the Rhine, Rüdesheim and Geisenheim just a few minutes away - dog-friendly - a tireless team of cleaning, maintenance and lawn/garden staff to watch - quiet except for the noise of the busy B42, which runs past the northern edge of the site (but hidden by buildings and bushes/trees). - interesting to observe which vehicles the permanent campers drive (tuned vehicles of the upper class ;-), permanent campers nice!
