"Great location, friendly service, fresh air - I visit this place again and again. First as a teenager/adolescent with a tent. Later with my wife and child in a rented bungalow and now with my family and mountain bike in a tent and, when it's colder, in rented accommodation. There are different sanitary facilities. Some newly renovated. Others from the 80's but perfectly OK and clean. The rental accommodation is robust and clean and very cozy when it is cold outside. The site is close to the dunes by the sea with the streetcar and the coast road in between.

"Worth repeating - Very close to the beach and the many cycle routes along the coast. The older sanitary facilities (2 out of 3) have the advantage of being less frequented. The showers here have the charm of the 80s, but they are clean. Please take toilet paper with you everywhere. Lots of campers from the region, who are keen to ensure that it is quiet and pleasant. "Guests" are not given a dirty look, but are treated in a friendly manner

"Sanitary facilities - We have been going to this site for 30 years, rented a house this year and were horrified by the filth, the sanitary buildings were cleaned 3 times a day and stank of urine! I have to praise one building but it is a pity the rest should also be renewed, for an otherwise very nice place

" - Very nice large pitches for camping guests, pitch is dominated by permanent campers. Staff at reception friendly, spoke German. Electricity on site, water, waste water at the wash house. Wash houses are getting on in years, mostly clean, toilet paper must be carried. Very nice playground for children, shopping in the store very good, delicious croissants, place is car-free, parking around the square, had only a few meters to the caravan. A few hundred meters to the beach, very wide sandy beach. The streetcar runs right past the site and can be heard, but didn't bother us much. The tram stops right in front of the campsite, and for €16 you can buy a family ticket to travel along the Belgian coast all day. Super detailed brochures from the operator. Lots of dog lovers on the site. Mostly Dutch and Belgian guests, few German guests, and there are other campsites in the immediate vicinity.

Profil

‘De Lombarde’ is just 500 m from the North Sea beach. The natural beach can be reached via a dune path. The centre is located in a peaceful and green environment and offers spacious pitches, tent areas, camping cabins and …holiday homes. There are 3 clean sanitary blocks. The bar, shop, chip stand and restaurant (opening hours depend on the season) ensure you have everything close at hand. The fishpond, playground, tennis court and petanque pitches provide well-deserved relaxation. In the immediate vicinity you can find a network of walking and cycling routes, some beautiful nature reserves and picturesque villages in the Westhoek region. There is a tram stop close by (stop: Lombardsijde Bad). The public transport or your personal car takes you to Ostend, Bruges, Veurne, Ypres, France and the Netherlands in no time.

De easiest way to reach ‘De Lombarde’ is via the E40 motorway towards Veurne (Furnes). Take the exit N°3 Nieuwpoort and then follow the Oostende signs via the N34. Once passed Nieuwpoort, you will find a sign for ‘De Lombarde’ …1 km from the Albert Monument (bridge over the Yser) on the right-hand side.
