- Piet V.June 2015PozitivnoQuiet, shady, swimming pool, biking and hiking opportunities. Good sanitary facilities. Much culture to see in immediate vicinityNegativnoTrees/branches are sometimes a bit low which makes the choice of camping spot a bit more difficult, depending on (size of) camping equipment.Delightful camping under the walnut trees!Beautiful, small-scale and quiet 'Bienvenue à la ferme' campsite (30 pitches, 2 mobile homes and a caravan for rental). There is no longer an agricultural business. Two beautiful/royal Gîtes are also rented out. Play facilities for the smaller and slightly older youth. Rolling terrain with walnut trees... and grassy ground under which to camp. Pitches are approximately 100- 150m² in size. In mid-June-early July it was still very quiet at the campsite (6-7 campers + occupation Gîtes. Reservations are required, especially in high season. The campsite is ideally situated for hiking and cycling in that part of the 'Dordogne'. Good cycling facilities, partly on bike paths (old railroads) and partly on roads with very limited, sometimes regular, traffic including along the river 'La Dordogne'. E-bikes or mountain bikes are a must as it is quite hilly. Also ideal base for cultural/historical and other visits by car in the area (e.g. Domme, Sarlet-la-Canéda, Souillac, Beynac-et-Casenac, St. Cyprien, La Roque-Gageac, all of which can also be done by bike) Access to campsite is good, only the last 200m¹ are quite steep but doable. Access to pitches with caravans/campers longer than about 7.00m¹ is hardly doable due to width infrastructure and planting/trees. With smaller caravans it works, sometimes with some maneuvering (our caravan measures 6.74m¹ in total and that went well with the car towing). With a mover under the caravan there are no problems. The walnut trees are sometimes a bit low, so now and then we have to put a stick under the branches to make it easier to pass with a caravan or camper. The campsite is situated in the hamlet 'La Barthe' at approx. 150m¹ above and near the village of Groléjac and a short distance from the river 'La Dordogne'. Shopping facilities limited in Groléjac (supermarket, bakery and restaurants) and excellent in Souillac and Sarlat-le-Canéda). The site is shaded with trees/planting (also semi-shade) and that is necessary because it can be very hot summers. In mid-June/early July it was mostly well over 30º (35-38º!!) which, by the way, was very exceptional for that time in 2015. The campground has a nice swimming pool with loungers for cooling off. Sanitary facilities: 2 blocs with all facilities that are fine and well maintained, incl. for the disabled. Electricity 16A on all pitches and water taps scattered throughout the site. Price/quality: very good. Price for 2pp. all in €16.56/night. WiFi is free and good but only available in or around the small but rustic recreation room. Very friendly and helpful owners.Automatski prevedeno.
