"Good CP for a stopover - We didn't realize that the season was already over for many people at the beginning of September. The campsite was still open, but at 7:30 pm the gate was closed. So we stood in the parking lot in front of it and took a look at the services of the campsite on foot! Sanitary facilities quite OK, but no separation between male and female. We can't judge much more than that. But the location on the lake is very attractive!

"Quiet place with lots of nature - Very well-kept site in an absolutely quiet location. The nearby town of Limoges is 20 minutes away by car and shopping in Ambazac is about 5 minutes away. Unfortunately you can no longer swim in the lake, but a walk around the lake takes 40 minutes with the dog and is highly recommended. The campsite operator (speaks fluent German) makes every effort to run a nature-friendly campsite. The sanitary facilities have been renovated after the takeover a few years ago, but should still be improved - they are very clean, but there is still some room for improvement... Bread roll service on the site and minimum provision at the registration desk.

"Very nice place - Beautifully laid out and well-kept site on a lake, very quiet. Close to the charming village of Ambasac with all shopping facilities. Approx. 30 minutes by car to Limoges. Mobile homes and pitches sensibly mixed. Family-run, very friendly, warm-hearted and of course multilingual, English and German. Sanitary facilities meet French standards.

"Very nice, small and family-run campsite. - We stayed at this site for 2 nights on the outward and 1 night on the return tour in summer 2017 on our way to the Atlantic. We received a warm welcome and were allocated a lovely pitch. The operator speaks very good German and was happy to help with questions about the region. There was a lovely heated pool with sun loungers and parasols. The showers and washing facilities are fine. The campsite is located on a lake which is not open for swimming. The nearest shop is a Super U in Ambazac 5 minutes away. We will certainly return to this campsite for other overnight stays.

"Small but nice - It was only supposed to be just one night on the way to the Atlantic - it turned out to be three and we stopped again on the way back :-) Absolutely quiet and relaxed small campsite on the shore of a lake (unfortunately no bathing lake, but it's only 15 minutes away by car). Site is clean and has everything you need (even a small pool), owner speaks super good German and has great tips for the surrounding area, stores, Super-U and gas station 5 minutes by car. The area is perfect for hiking (okay, not my thing ;-) or mountain biking and swimming (lake or river!). Will definitely be our permanent stopover on the way to surfing and back!

"Great campsite - This is a beautifully situated, quiet campsite which, thanks to its idyllic surroundings, offers almost every activity a camper could wish for. The very friendly campsite manager speaks excellent German and takes great care of his guests. Guided walks / city tours are also available on request. Ideal for getting to know the Limousin. We will be back!

Campsite L'Ecrin Nature and its 62 pitches (45 bare pitches and 17 rentals) overlooks the magnificent twenty-hectare Jonas lake and offers a breathtaking view of the Ambazac Mountains. Ideal for family holidays in the heart of nature, it is a …privileged starting point for hiking and mountain biking. The campsite is also located near the town center of Ambazac with its shops, services, and numerous leisure activities such as horse riding, tennis, squash... L'Ecrin Nature offers different types of accommodation for successful holidays with family, friends, or as a couple! Close to Limoges and easily accessible 10km from the A20 motorway (free), Exit 26 from the north, Exit 27 from the south, Direction Ambazac.
