However, the exuberant reviews are unfortunately not entirely understandable. The pitches are very small and the site was very full at the end of August. Although we had made a reservation, we were initially allocated a very small... pitch near the bar with our caravan. However, on request we were allowed to move to another, slightly larger and nicer pitch the next day.
The operators are generally friendly, but unfortunately sometimes rather business-like and somewhat impersonal.
In the evening, it was sometimes still relatively loud after 11pm; unfortunately, some of our fellow campers showed little consideration.
The constant music in the sanitary facilities with the usual mainstream droning is also not everyone's cup of tea.
Conclusion: In the low season certainly a very nice place, in the high season only conditionally recommended. Despite its popularity, it is manageable, almost informal. The sanitary facilities are relatively up-to-date and largely well-maintained. The price is absolutely fair. There are plenty of leisure activities in the surrounding area to pass... the time. The grounds are lovingly landscaped with fruit trees, olive trees, herb bushes, meadows and a turtle pond. Even if it's not the most important thing on vacation, I think the Wi-Fi should extend a little further than just beyond the walls of reception. The showers could be designed to save water, but running times <8sec per button press are rather exhausting overall. We would love to come back.Automatski prevedeno.

We liked it very much, the location of the place is very good right on the beach and great to make beautiful mountain bike tours from there. The beach at Camping Magic Lake is also beautifully laid out. The operators are very nice and helpful. They also speak very good German. The sanitary facilities are very clean.Automatski prevedeno.

It was also great that we would have liked to stay 2 nights, as we had come unreserved, but this was initially not possible due to no free pitches. However, the operators had remembered our request and came to our pitch in the evening to let us know that we could stay for 2 nights after all. Super! What luck! The campsite is beautiful, small and informal. The friendly young staff know the answers to all our questions and take great care of their guests. The sanitary facilities were almost luxurious! The cleanest in Italy! Free hot water,... drinking water from the well. The campsite is divided into plots of almost equal size. There is shade on almost every pitch. The path to the lake is a maximum of 50 m. Here, too, everything is beautifully laid out and well maintained. The bar has a nice terrace with free wifi. There are several supermarkets nearby, one of which is just a few minutes' walk away. In addition, all kinds of sports are possible, including table tennis and billiards, and much more. In short: definitely the best and most beautiful campsite we have been able to experience on our many years of camping vacations. Conclusion: We'll be back - next year! PS: Our tip: take an early morning swim in the refreshing, deserted lake with a great view of the mountains! An unforgettable experience!Automatski prevedeno.

The campsite has everything you need. The family-run site is very well maintained, very clean and the family owners are very nice, helpful and courteous. "Not put on". There is a small bar (indoor and outdoor area)... there is no restaurant, breakfast and pizza service are offered. The lake is only a few meters away, separated by a narrow footpath. A very well run, clean and tidy site, nothing is to much trouble, family run site which gives it that extra something and it shows.

Carsten&Svenja B.September 2013We have just returned and it was fantastic. The site is small with few permanent campers. The staff are more than friendly and speak German, English, French and of course Italian. The bar on site is good and cheap, there is no food - but you can order something from a pizza service which is really delicious.... The sanitary facilities are very clean, but when we were there, not all the showers and toilets were open as there was not much going on. One toilet in the bar could also be used when everything was full or the cleaning crew was out and about. The pitches vary in size, but you can choose freely and moving the vehicles was no problem if, for example, a pitch closer to the water became available. The lake is right on the doorstep, bathing shoes are recommended. Shopping facilities are either 300m away in a small store that caters very well for campers or about 1km further away. We didn't move the car once in 12 days. From Dongo, you can make excursions by boat to Bellagio, Menaggio or Como. Tip: If you drive up from Milan, take the right-hand side of Lake Como... - Heike E.August 2012In August 2012 we spent our vacation for 16 nights at this wonderful campsite. Small but nice !!! As has already been mentioned several times in the reviews, the pitches are very small (approx. 50 m²). As our caravan is 7.50 m long, we rented 2 pitches next to each other so we had plenty of space for... the caravan, awning, sleeping tent for the children and car. You can also afford this on the MagicLake, we paid EUR 50.00 per night for two pitches with 4 people including electricity. An affordable price for Italy !!! The sanitary facilities are well maintained and generously laid out - 5 stars here. The beach is lovingly maintained by the hard-working hands of the campsite operators. The beach itself is quite stony and bathing shoes are recommended! The pictures on the homepage really don't promise too much - it really is as beautiful, if not more so. The bar is very cozy in the evening (of course also during the day). Here you can get drinks at reasonable prices, e.g. a cappuccino for EUR 1.30. Unfortunately, the campsite doesn't have a snack bar, restaurant or small store, but everything is within easy walking distance or you can order from the pizza delivery service on site. The friendly little Italian corner store is a good 200 m away, the nearest supermarket IPERAL is approx. 1400 m away, which you can easily reach by bike by cycling along the beach. Getting to the campsite by caravan is a bit of a hassle - the road along the western shore of Lake Como is very long and sometimes very narrow. You can already see all the paint colors on the walls of the houses - the walls could probably write a novel. You can easily take a detour and drive from Como via Lecco and then along the SS36 along the east coast of Lake Como. Here there is a so-called "highway" parallel to the coastal road. This is completely tunneled and has two lanes !!! Overall, we would recommend this place to anyone, especially for water sports enthusiasts it is a paradise. - glossop w.May 2012A lovely location right next to the lake, walk out of the site and you are straight onto the 2 mile long lake side path. The views of the lake and mountains are beautiful. We drove here up the west side of the lake, the road is narrow in places and interesting when coaches are coming both ways. The owners... were friendly and speak English. They let us choose our pitch and also advised us of the walks along the lake side path. They don't take card payments but there are 2 banks in Dongo to withdraw cash if necessary. The bar is very reasonably priced (1.30 euro for a glass of wine) and has free wi-fi access. Dogs are allowed on site and also in the outside seating area at the bar, they are made to feel welcome unlike some other locations in Italy. The toilets are the best we have ever seen, immaculate at all times. The flush for the toilets is foot operated and the taps are sensor activated – brilliant! They have 25 permanent pitches and 25 tourist pitches, the permanent pitches were hardly occupied during our stay and the site was very quiet. The pitches although initially seeming quite cramped together (due to the size of the awnings on some of the permanent caravans) had plenty of space for our campervan and awning. We have noticed that European pitches, in general, seem to be smaller and closer together than on the majority of UK sites. In summary, a beautiful, small, family run campsite with excellent facilities in a stunning location.
