"TRANQUILITY - The best place to spend a peaceful vacation for 9 years. Whenever I can, I go there throughout the year in search of peace and quiet. The whole area around Markádia is magical. The water from the dam, the view, being away from the hustle and bustle, the obligatory distance between tents and caravans. I can't describe waking up at Markádia...

"Best campsite ever - Markádia Camping is simply the best campsite for us ever. The staff are 5*, the campsite and facilities are spotlessly clean. Camping right next to a lake is the best. We and our dog love it and we'll definitely be back soon! Thank you for everything!

"Campsite in a dream location above a reservoir. Pure nature. Friendly management - We were at the campsite in March 2017. Despite the early season, there were more than a dozen campers there. The site is located above a reservoir in a really beautiful landscape. The site is very spacious with lots of pitches. There are a total of six sanitary blocks on the site. They are all getting on in years. During our stay, only one sanitary block was open. The sanitary facilities are spacious. As already stated in the 2013 review, an overhaul of the facilities would be desirable (therefore only 4 stars in the overall impression!). The facilities - showers, hand basin, WC - worked well. Hot shower water was available after a reasonable wait. The water temperature at the sinks could have been better. There are plenty of power points throughout the site. The water supply is a little more economical. The pitches are not separated. Some of the pitches are clearly separated by terraces, otherwise the regulation of 10 m minimum distance to neighbors applies on the site, which could well be adhered to. Rabbits are at home in large numbers and are a fun diversion on the pitch. During our stay, only a few basic items and bread to order were available on the pitch. The nearest (small) towns are a few kilometers away. The surroundings are beautiful. Parkland with pastures and cork oaks, wild olive trees and holm oaks with rich flora and fauna. We were happy to stay here longer than planned and really enjoyed the place and the surroundings.

" - Wonderful location on a large reservoir, pitches with a view of the water, very rare in Portugal. Secluded and quiet location, especially in the low season. The sanitary facilities could be better, but are perfectly acceptable. It's a shame that they were probably never renovated. Impressive: the approach over the high dam wall!
