- Alexander K.July 2018Pozitivnoclean, perfect service, great offerNegativnoif you don't mind - not very internationally occupied in the high season.A jewel in a rugged landscapeCamping Mas de la Cam is a beautiful campsite in the foothills of the Cévennes at the Gardon river, which flows under the Pont du Gard after several confluences. Situated slightly off the beaten track, it has plenty to offer families: A beautiful pool area with adjoining water play park, varied playground... with equipment from baby to toddler to climbing course with soccer pitch (See pictures). As the icing on the cake, the Gardon is dammed up in high season (see photo), so that you can also swim in the river or use any water toys and even inflatable boats for the children. In the high season there is a wide range of activities on offer - aquafit, crossfit, bike tours, arts and crafts for the children and evening activities such as boules tournaments, table tennis tournaments, etc.. A lot is possible, but you can just as easily stay out of everything if you feel like it. This is made possible by the fact that the bar/restaurant with the pool and play areas is separated from the actual pitches by a large meadow, so that you are not disturbed even during live broadcasts of the World Cup football matches if you are not at the public viewing yourself. A small range of wellness treatments can also be booked for a fair price. The pitch itself is divided into terraces of different sizes, from small to large. We had booked one of the larger pitches only separated from the river by a small path and a slightly sloping meadow. This slightly sloping meadow also has pitches near the road that have not yet been parceled out, but which can be used without exception for larger tents or folding caravans. As we were there at the beginning of the high season and the end of the low season, we were able to get to know all facets of this site - from only 1/3 full to completely full in the last two days. In the high season, the campsite is 50% Dutch, 40% Belgian, 8% French and 2% other nationalities. If this bothers you, then it's better to go in June or September. It didn't bother us, it just made it more difficult for our children to make friends and communicate with each other than in more mixed campsites. Furthermore, we have never seen so many folding caravans as here. All imaginable sizes and models. There are also fridges for hire - our model was top notch and spotless. The croissant service was also well organized. However, I cycled to Saint Jean du Gard, about 3 km away, every morning anyway to watch the morning hustle and bustle over a cup of coffee at 7:00 at the latest and to buy the breakfast equipment there - fruit, baguettes, everything you need. There is also a market every Tuesday of the week - highly recommended. Many attractions can be reached in up to 90 minutes by car - whether NImes, the Mediterranean, Pont du Gard, etc.. We (2 adults + 2 children of 6 & 9 years) felt very comfortable hereAutomatski prevedeno.
- Arne M.July 2018PozitivnoSpaciousness of the area, location by the river, bathing facilitiesNegativnoThe nearest town is some distance away.Super campsite for a relaxed family vacationThe grounds of this beautiful campsite are very spacious. The pitches are mostly shady and usually very spacious. The best pitches are right by the river with a huge meadow in between. For tents only. The campsite is very popular with the Dutch and Belgians and their families. There are lots of children,... who can move around the site on their own without any danger. The dammed river at the campsite offers great swimming opportunities, and hiking is also possible from here. The small restaurant has a typical campsite menu and the pizza is highly recommended. There is a small supermarket, playgrounds, sports facilities and the numerous sanitary facilities are always clean. Perhaps the only downside is that you have to go to the nearest town either by bike or by car. There are great swimming opportunities, and getting rid of it is also possible from here. The small restaurant has a typical campsite menu and the pizza is highly recommended. Perhaps the only downside is that you have to either cycle or drive to the nearest village. The site is an excellent starting point for cycling and hiking tours.Automatski prevedeno.
- Stephanie H.August 2014PozitivnoGreat landscapeNegativnoFrench language requiredQuiet and scenic locationWe stayed at this campsite in August 2014. Despite the high season, it is very quiet there. Lots of Dutch people, hardly any Germans (which was a bit silly for our children). The pitches right by the river are great and it's not overcrowded. The river is dammed so that you can swim in the beautiful clear... water, behind the dam it is then shallow and calm, so that you have a non-swimmer area for small children. Ideal. The pool is also very nice, but unfortunately so cold that we didn't use it despite it being 30 C. There is plenty of space for children and a very nice playground. There is practically no entertainment and if there is, it is only in French. There was no English spoken at reception either, which I think is a small drawback. The site is extremely well maintained, the sanitary facilities are not perfect, but they are fine. The surrounding area is insanely beautiful and well worth exploring.Automatski prevedeno.
- Alexander S.June 2013Very nice place right on the river. Very friendly welcome. We originally only wanted to stay one night and then extended our stay. Very clean and large pool.Automatski prevedeno.
- Walter K.August 2011Pure relaxation! An absolute "must", especially for cyclists! Tours led by the junior manager (Cedric), well prepared and carried out.Automatski prevedeno.
- Steffen L.June 2010Wonderful place directly on a river that was dammed up and could therefore be swum and used with rubber dinghies. Beautiful pitches, mostly on terraces. Sanitary facilities clean and, as is typical for France, not separated by gender. Large playground, very nice swimming pool, but unfortunately with little shade. Very well-kept park and absolutely quiet. We will be back. Operator very friendly and helpful. Site heavily frequented by Dutch people.Automatski prevedeno.
- Hans Martin F.May 2010Very nice place! Nice staff. Park-like with lots of leisure facilities on site. Toilets clean but women need to get used to them, as the urinals are without privacy screens to the shared ladies' and men's toilets.Automatski prevedeno.
