We had pitch number five with a wonderful view over the adjacent paddock down into the green valley. The pitch was huge, as it used to consist of two pitches that have now been combined. The sanitary facilities... were always very clean and modern. Overall, it was very quiet on the site. The site is an ideal starting point for hikes and bike tours. The staff at reception were very friendly and the bread roll service was great.
The only point of criticism from my point of view is the access road. It's a bit steep and made of grit. We had to drive through here with a bit of momentum, but this was perhaps also due to our trailer combination. Otherwise, there is nothing to complain about and the site can be recommended without hesitation.Automatski prevedeno.- Roland K.September 2024PozitivnoThe location and the peace and quietNegativnononeWe were delighted with the placeWe were completely delighted with the campsite in Hammelbach / Odenwald. The location is fantastic - in the middle of nature, surrounded by beautiful countryside and great hiking trails. A perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and quiet.
The extremely clean sanitary facilities deserve... special mention. You can tell that great importance is attached to hygiene here. The entire site is well maintained and designed with attention to detail. You immediately feel at home.
Another plus point are the operators - incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can tell that they run their campsite with a lot of passion and are always there for their guests.
We can only recommend this campsite to anyone looking to relax in nature!

Our pitch request was met by the extremely friendly staff.
The wash house is new and spotlessly clean, just like the whole site.
There is a bread roll service and WiFi is free of charge.
If you're looking for peace and quiet, you'll find... it here.
What we noticed was that all the people at the campsite, even the permanent campers, always said hello. Unfortunately, this is no longer common on many campsites.
All in all, we had a wonderful few days.

From registration to departure, everything went very smoothly. The pitches are big enough for caravans and cars. Water, waste water and electricity all there. Exceptionally good WIFI network. The surrounding area is good for cycling and hiking. A little further away you can also... visit beautiful small or large towns. A small outdoor pool (800m away) invites you to swim in summer. We had several pitches to choose from and picked the best one..... As they say in Hamburg: sit on the bollard, watch the boats, shut up. Here you could say: sit in a chair, enjoy the view, shut up. A dream.....
The only downside is the catastrophic infrastructure.... One restaurant, no open bakery for miles around, no shopping facilities. In the middle of nowhere. Probably for this reason: Sit down....usw.Automatski prevedeno.- Dirk B.May 2022PozitivnoLocation of the tourist pitches, sanitary facilities, usable WLAN, quiet, nice operator with an ear for her campersNegativnounfortunately no gastronomy offer on site or in the villageWonderful place, gladly again!We were amazed that the "1a cream pitches" with valley views here are almost exclusively for tourist campers and are not already taken over by permanent campers, as is the case at many other campsites. The pitches could easily accommodate a caravan with awning/awning and towing vehicle and still have... room for a seating area. Electricity and water are available directly at the pitch. The free WiFi was easy to use, but too unstable for video streaming (but do you need that when camping?).
If you're looking for peace and quiet, you'll find it on this pitch! You can even hear the echo of dogs barking through the valley.
The sanitary facilities are centrally located, modern and clean.
Checking in was quick thanks to the reservation, the campsite staff make their rounds around the site several times a day and actively ask if everything is OK (yes!). After each departure, the vacant pitch was trimmed with the lawnmower tractor. Bread roll service is also available, but you have to drive to the neighboring village to do your shopping.
The only thing I missed at the campsite was a restaurant. The campsite doesn't have its own restaurant because, according to the operator, it's not worth it and the small restaurants in the village were closed during our stay. The owners are very friendly, always ready to help and have great tips for excursions. There is a lot to do in the area for all ages. We were with our children 3&5 years in the wildlife park, have made the sound path (highly recommended), were on the... Alla Hopp playground and on the water playground in Wahlen and already the week was over. We had a few more things on our list but we'll have to come back to them. The only thing that wasn't so good was what our daughter said when we were cycling: "It's all uphill here :-)". . Okay, for big bike tours with 3 and 5 year olds you should probably not go to the "mountain road".
There are also some restaurants in the village, but you should make a reservation in advance. (Because of Corona)
So if you are still undecided and are looking for peace and nature then go to Hammelbach.

Cancellation was easy and free of charge. I had a very nice chat with Mrs. Hörr and then booked on suspicion for the end of May.
This campsite is simply great, everything is tidy and well... maintained, even the permanent camping area is tidy and you only see a few old or run-down pitches, which is particularly important here. Keep up the good work. The sanitary building is modern and was always clean despite full occupancy over Whitsun.
All in all, a great site, which is now one of the top 5 in Hesse.

The family business is very professional and exceptionally friendly. For me, this is one of the most beautiful campsites I know, very well maintained and generously designed. The infrastructure is ideal and leaves nothing to be desired, with... WLAN, fresh water and drainage available at all pitches and a modern central sanitary building with everything you need. Each individual pitch is level, partly terraced and mostly separated by hedges. There is also a well-equipped and very nice sauna facility. And she keeps her word! Rarely have we found such a clean, beautiful site with sanitary facilities that meet hotel standards! Simply superb! Two days of rainy weather didn't bother us that much.... The pitch itself: a dream! Water, electricity and waste water directly at the pitch, a magical view over the beautiful Odenwald and a manager who couldn't be friendlier and always looks after her guests with a smile.
