- Holger M.July 2023PozitivnoLocation for excursions (Pisa, Lucca, Siena, train to Rome) Swimming fun for children Quiet location for southern Europe good take-away pizzeriaNegativnoSanitary facilities in need of renovation (but clean) miserable restaurant WLAN unstableOverall goodThe site consists mainly of mobile homes, the pitches are located at the beginning of the site, between the main entrance and exit (via piombino, via siena), with heavy car traffic. It is sometimes very dusty there in summer. It is better to book a pitch in the streets in between. Many pitches have a... lot of shade and are gravelled, take sturdy pegs with you! The Wi-Fi reception was rather poor (good signal strength, but constantly reconnecting). LTE was very good (D2 network). In high summer it was already crowded, especially in the pools, but still bearable. There are plenty of sunbeds, but in the afternoon they are all occupied. The pools are great, including 2 pools with a depth of 1.30 m where you can swim in the morning. The vacationers were 80% young Dutch families plus a few Belgians, Italians and Germans. The (extensive) entertainment for young and old was therefore in Italian, English and Dutch. Avoid the restaurant, we haven't eaten so badly for a long time - oversalted burgers, pasta with porcini mushroom sauce without any flavor. The mini market is well stocked and the prices are ok. Cecina has everything else you need. The sanitary facilities are slowly in need of renovation, but are constantly kept clean so that you can almost always find a clean toilet/washing area. The quietness of the campsite - well, generally it is kept (0 am to 7 am) and for southern European standards it is very quiet at night (no street noise etc.), but it always depends on the neighbors. When it's as hot as it was this year, you have to open all the windows at night, and then the fun round at the neighbor's house can be disturbing at some point. If there's no other option, there's a night watchman you can call. The grounds are fenced in and we never had the feeling that it was unsafe there. The staff are generally very friendly and helpful! All in all, you can spend a relaxing vacation there.Automatski prevedeno.
- Maik J.July 2019Pozitivnobeautiful pitches, lots of natureNegativnonone found yetvery clean and beautifully situated placeVery well-kept facility, but the pitches are not cheap. But we think the price is justified. Lots of nature, super shady pitches. The site is very busy in the evenings and gets quieter around 23:00. Good for families. Mostly Dutch, all very nice.Automatski prevedeno.
- Claudia G.May 2018PozitivnoShady plots, beautifully maintained pool area, centrally located for excursions in TuscanyNegativnoYou need a car for shopping, the beach etc.Vacations at Camping MontescudaioVery nice campsite with pitches in a forest. Sanitary facilities clean, cleaned several times a day. We were there for two weeks from mid-May at the beginning of the season and really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the swimming pool. The staff were also very friendly in the store and restaurant on site.... Distance to the beach too far on foot but quick by car. Good accessibility to surrounding destinations such as Florence, Pisa, Sienna for day trips. We would like to visit the campsite again in spring. In the high season we could imagine that it might be a bit crowded, e.g. at the pool if the campsite and the rental bungalows are full.Automatski prevedeno.
- Sepp K.August 2017Pozitivno-Location (close to Cecina and various old towns with restaurants) -Cleanliness -sufficiently large pitches (wood underneath does not hurt)Negativno-Sanitary facilities old (but clean)Great placeCampsite in a pine forest and yet close enough to Cecina where there is sufficient infrastructure (food, doctor, pharmacy, etc.). The site itself is clean, the staff are super nice, the sanitary facilities are old but clean (cleaned several times a day). Pool area also kept clean, water pleasant. Daily... entertainment for children and teenagers. Ideal starting point for excursions and sightseeing in small old towns (Casale Marittimo or Guardistallo). During our stay, the campsite was mainly frequented by Dutch and Italians, there was little contact for our daughter. On arrival we were shown 3 pitches to choose from.Automatski prevedeno.
- Manfred K.May 2017PozitivnoGreat separate, large plots, everything from shade to sun. Close to Cecina.NegativnoOld sanitary facilities with some repair backlog.Great pitches, sanitary facilities are getting on in yearsBooked from 20-24.05.2017. Mega pitches with lots of shade, well-grown wooded area, well maintained. Due to the low season only one service area (1) was in operation, is already outdated, but cleaned regularly, showers water drain slowly, shower tray runs full, this should be fixed. Doors and windows always open, lots of vermin in sanitary facilities.Automatski prevedeno.
- Tanja K.May 2016PozitivnoPeace and lots of nature... CleanlinessNegativnoNot on the beachPerfect campsiteWe stayed here for 2 weeks during the Whitsun vacations with a large caravan and 5 children (aged 6-13). The place is quite quiet, a few kilometers from the beaches, sights and the sea are easy to reach by car. About the site itself: It was hardly occupied during the period, you can choose your own pitch... on arrival, the A pitches are very large, all separated from each other by bushes or trees, clean. Sanitary facilities, pool are well maintained and clean, small mini market, pizzeria and restaurant on site, nearest shopping facilities 2 minutes away by car. AND the best thing about the place, in the low season completely free of evening entertainment and animation.our children were still never bored.they were at the pool, hunting lizards......just always on the go. Even our dog liked it. The operator and staff were always friendly. All in all a great place, contributed to a successful family vacation. Many thanksAutomatski prevedeno.
- tomasz z.August 2015Pozitivno- very clean sanitary facilities, - courtesy of the staff, - large plots for a tent/trailer, - interesting location - on a hill, - poolsNegativno- poor catering facilities, - distance from the sea, but you can easily find a place for a car at the beach - the cost of parking about 1 E / hMontescudaio - a good campsite at a reasonable priceWe were with our family (2 adults, 2 children (7 and 12) in a tent. stay very successful. good base: Lucca, Volterra, Pisa, San Gimgiaqno. Maybe clean, rocky/gravel beach. Cecin - town not very interesting. Camping very clean, sufficient sanitary facilities. Parcels large, shaded. Pools 2 large up to 2 m deep, 1 for children up to 60 cm. Clean and plenty of space to spread towels. very good price to quality. I recommend!Automatski prevedeno.
- Andreas K.August 2014Nothing to complain aboutAfter seeing how negative the previous reviews have been, I now have to give my - thoroughly positive - opinion. We stayed at this campsite at the end of August 2014. We actually wanted to go to the better-rated neighboring site. However, as montescudaio was on the way, we made a short stopover. We were... lucky enough to catch the first day of the off-season. The nice man at reception told us that we had free choice of pitch at a standard price of around €30 (caravan, 2 adults, 2 children). We were very skeptical at first, but looked around anyway and were proved wrong. The following can be said: - the sanitary facilities were always clean. The cleaning ladies started early at 7:00 a.m. (1-2 ladies per building) and were busy until the afternoon. My wife is very fussy about this! - The pitches are very nice. Each pitch is different and also different in size. The existing trees are used here. - The pool area is perfect. The kids had great fun. The pool was always very clean and well maintained - there was an animation team (Dutch) for the children who were very friendly and helpful. However, there wasn't too much animation on offer at the time we were there. But it was still enough - on the subject of mosquitoes: I don't know of any campsite in Tuscany without mosquitoes. However, it can be said that the mosquitoes were only active at dusk. After that we had no problems. - Dust and dirt: Tuscany is very hot with few rainy days. Of course, the ground is also correspondingly dry. However, I didn't find this disturbing - noise: our pitch was on the hill near the pool. The entertainment and evening events take place around 500-700m away in the restaurant. We did hear the animation, but we didn't find it too loud (we actually always skipped the evening program. Our boys don't like it that much) - Friendliness: everyone was very nice and friendly - Shopping facilities: there are several large supermarkets about 5km away. One of them (I forget the name) has a fantastic fish counter. - Eating out: we drove another 10km inland from the campsite (guardistallo). There is a typical Tuscan village with two super pizzerias. Very tasty - Beach: we didn't like the beach in Cecina itself. But about 10km further on in bibbona you can swim perfectly. We actually only wanted to stay there for 4-5 days. In the end it was almost 2 weeks. One more thing. Montescudaio is only open as a campsite for a few months. At the end of September the fences are taken down, the sanitary buildings are locked and from then on the animals (especially the wild boar) are allowed to take over the territory again. I think that's a very sustainable approach. Long story short. We will be going there again this year. In my opinion, the campsite is absolutely recommendable !!!Automatski prevedeno.
- Peter B.August 2010We rented a bungalow. The thing about the evening program is true, but those who don't mind will find a nice place! You always have to drive to the sea, but there are lots of really beautiful beaches of all different kinds. The hinterland is really beautiful and the campsite offers a good starting point for excursions by car to lots of great townsAutomatski prevedeno.
