A wonderfully quiet site, very well-kept grounds, the groundsman is always available, friendly and very helpful. The pitches are spacious and terraced. Close to the highway but still hardly any traffic because the nature reserve begins here. A small forest pool makes the whole thing complete. Hiking, sun, water - it's all there

Very well-kept site without pitches. Modern laundry room with cooking facilities and washing machine. Close to nature with a view of the forest. Very good starting point for hikes in the Vessertal or cycling tours. Shopping facilities are a little off the beaten track. Bread roll service available. Showers could use some renovation. Descaling would be a first step. Hand soap unfortunately not available.

In the middle of nature
We received a very warm welcome. The atmosphere at the campsite is very relaxed and you really feel at home. The area is beautiful and great for hiking or cycling. The sanitary facilities are a bit outdated and there are only 2 showers per gender, but it was always very clean. You pay 50 ct. to shower... - we thought that was great, at least no water is wasted. The bread roll service worked great and the rolls were very tasty! It's a bit further to the nearest supermarket, but no problem by car or bike. We had stocked up for our long weekend and didn't have to buy anything except the bread rolls. We will definitely be back if we want to chill out for a few days or go hiking.

Wonderful location - pure nature, quiet place in expert hands, nice permanent campers
Beautiful place - recommendable
If you are looking for a small and fine campsite in the middle of a wonderful landscape and also love peace and quiet and the opportunity to go on long hikes in a charming natural setting, this campsite is highly recommended. Tourist campers are given a friendly welcome here, the pitches offer plenty... of space, the operator is happy to help and looks after his visitors. I can't report anything negative in terms of cleanliness and tidiness. A nice community, which also likes to talk to the short-stay campers. In contrast to many large campsites, this weekend was a real benefit. Many thanks to the operator - and we would love to come again

Great quiet place with a fantastic view. Uncomplicated handling and friendly owner. The site is right next to the forest and therefore great for dog owners. Unfortunately there is no food supply from a small kiosk, but there is a bread roll service and great restaurants in and around Breitenbach. (Blockhaus,... Dyonysos,...) Leisure activities are great in the surrounding area. From several museums and mines to sea aquariums and exotariums. It never gets boring.

We visited this campsite on our Thuringia tour and used it as a starting point for a three-day hike to the Meyersgrund and Großbreitenbach campsites. The site is characterized by a perfect and quiet location on the edge of the Thuringian Forest. The site operator is friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities could be improved. It is a pity that more effort is not put into the basic cleaning.

I used this site for an overnight stay for an event in Suhl. Very quiet, electricity and water nearby. For the whole place there are only 2 showers with curtain for the men.for 50Cent there is 3 minutes warm water.if it works.it had not worked for me. Furthermore, the shower and dishwashing room were... littered with various tools such as work blocks, paint buckets, cable drums, dirty dishes etc.. In the dishwashing room there is only hot water via a 20-cent machine. If it works and gives hot water !!! The access road is very steep and narrow. If a car comes towards you. However, this has never happened with trailers. The next village is about 3 km away. There is a gas station and an Edeka. No cell phone reception with D1 and D2. Only EPlus !!!

Although we only stayed at this campsite for one night when we were passing through, we were delighted with the fantastic location. The view over the Thuringian Forest is simply magnificent. We were given a friendly welcome and the bread roll service worked perfectly. We would love to come back.

Very nicely located campsite. Friendly welcome. The sanitary facilities take some getting used to and could be cleaned more often. What really bothered us were the 2 showers, which cost 50 cents for 3 minutes. Great starting point for hikes.
