The Wachtenbrink campsite in Schermbeck is actually only suitable for permanent campers, each with their own sanitary facilities. For short-term visitors, there are only about 5 to 10 pitches with small sanitary facilities.
There is 1(!) ladies' and 1(!) men's room in this relatively new flat-roofed... building.
We were there for 3 days in late summer 2022 and were disappointed by these sanitary facilities because other campsites are much better equipped.
There is no mixer tap connected to the washbasin, only cold water.
There are no plugs or stoppers in the washbasins.
Nowhere are paper towels or similar or electric hand dryers available.
There is not a single hook in the room for hanging towels, clothes etc.
Guests search in vain for a piece of toilet paper.
A shower token costs 2 EURO. Afterwards, hot water flows in the shower, but only for a limited time. The clock continues to run even if the water is turned off, e.g. while soaping up. In our experience, other campsites only charge for the flow of hot water. As soon as it is turned off during soaping, the calculation stops.
We spoke to the owner about these shortcomings, but our impression was that he was not very understanding.

Sehr erholsamer Kurzurlaub übers Wochenende
Sehr ruhig gelegener, gepflegter Platz. Überwiegend Dauercamper und feste Mietunterkünfte, aber sehr freundliches Miteinander von Dauercampern und Kurzzeitgästen. Platzleitung auch sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Sanitäranlagen einfach und klein, aber sauber. Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Great and well-kept facility if I become a permanent camper then there. Nice operator, family-run, the owner still knows everyone by name. Not everyone can do what they want but everything is not too strict and impersonal
