- Jörg Z.June 2019PozitivnoGreat sanitary facilities and great views of the Lake District. Keswick is a lovely little town with nice pubs.NegativnononeMost beautiful campsite in the north of EnglandWe have been there 4 times with our WW. Most recently in 2019 for 2 weeks and had a reservation. Reserve beautiful pitches at least 1 year in advance.Automatski prevedeno.
- Volli d.July 2015Pozitivnofriendly, clean ... View from certain seats TOPNegativnoNothing for just one nightvery good place ...... if you want to stay a few days, which is definitely worthwhile given the region! As a simple overnight stopover, the place is too luxurious, i.e. too expensive ... but definitely worth it.Automatski prevedeno.
- Eva S.August 2013We were at this very beautiful site in the Lake District this summer. You have a great view of the lake and the surrounding mountains, but only to the full extent on the upper pitches. Everything below the pitches marked E 1 and E 2 no longer has a view of the lake. These pitches should also be avoided... by those who are afraid of a steep (and, if urgent, very long...) path to the toilet blocks. There is a toilet block further down, but it's not really close and has the charm of a highway toilet. The other huts are much better, but a long way away. The one at the tent meadow has the most exclusive individual showers I've seen so far, with their own washbasin, large and spacious and otherwise classy. Otherwise, the site is also very nice, has a very nicely furnished store with a wide range of products, a restaurant (which we didn't try, but which was well frequented, so it must be good), a large play area for the children and an extra area for the dogs to go out. What we didn't like so much was that you had to go to the camper lounge to get internet access, so you have to go back up the hill and share it with the tent campers, who can prepare and eat their meals here. It was always stuffy, crowded and often noisy here. But only here, the site is very quiet, is on the sunny side of the lake and you can sit outside in the sun for a long time in the evening and enjoy the surroundings. If this seems a bit negative overall, the impression is deceptive; it's a great place, you just have to know which pitches to book. We would definitely go there again.Automatski prevedeno.
- Karl Thomas K.July 2011The campsite, a former mountain farm, has its own restaurant, a camper store and a small store. The campsite is located just outside Keswick - the town can be reached in about 30 minutes via a footpath that is a little more than moderately downhill. The only disadvantage of this campsite is that it is... not directly on the lake. However, this is more than compensated for by the enchanting location on the mountain and the resulting view of the surrounding mountains, over Keswick and the Derwent water.the surrounding area is rich in sights such as the Castlerigg Stonecircle, in Keswick an automobile museum in which cars from famous films are exhibited, such as an Aston Martin from James Bond,..., a pencil museum, a separate James Bond museum was closed, however, and much more,.... an adventure pool, shopping opportunities in the pedestrian zone. The area is a paradise for all outdoor fanaticsAutomatski prevedeno.
