"Spend the night in a wine barrel - Beautiful location, overnight stay in the camping barrel was exceptional, we particularly liked the Rotkäppchen breakfast with a direct view of the Moselle.

"Weekend trip - Too bad that there was no gastronomy on site. Fresh bread rolls were available at reception. You had to go to the town of Burgen to eat, there were plenty of restaurants there.

"Come again - Friendly and helpful staff. Nice campsite owner. Would do it again, but at a different time of year. Unfortunately it rained a lot and then the camping barrel is a bit cramped. Everything would have been perfect if the weather had been nice. Recommended, it's something different

Profil

The KNAUS Moselle/Burgen campsite runs along the Moselle river and is part of the State accredited resort of Burgen. Here in the oldest wine region in Germany, the steep hillsides of Fußtäl are densely covered in grapevines. The wine-growers of …the region are particularly renowned for their fine, fruity Riesling. The name of the region of Burgen comes from the large number of castles (Burg = castle in German) surrounding the area. It is best to uncover the romantic and well-maintained structures via the walking paths through the vineyards, forests or Ehrenburg castle or even on a trail path. Previously known as the ""Boot and camping center Laguna"", the campsite of course still has its large boat port with a view of the romantic Bischofstein castle. Due to the large number of locks the Moselle is also excellent for watersports like canoeing, waterskiing or even fishing. A particularly pleasant experience can be had by marvelling at the Moselle valley from above in a hot-air balloon (starting at the campsite). Furthermore the campsite has a restaurant with a terrace and a solar-heated small outdoor swimming pool to guarantee a welcome cool-down on hot days.
