"Quiet place in a great location - We were only there for an overnight stay. Friendly welcome, shady pitch, nice bistro with lakeside terrace and good food. The store was already closed when we arrived, but offers basic camper equipment. The sanitary facilities are a bit dated and looked in need of renovation at the end of the summer, but were clean.

"By the sea of Champagne - Campsite on a peninsula in the lake. Close to the water, small sandy beach in the immediate vicinity. Many French families; in summer (July) the site was full at times. Pitches not particularly large, separated by small bushes. Free choice of pitch. Very clean and beautifully designed sanitary facilities with large showers. Very friendly staff. Small restaurant. Large, fairly touristy leisure facility on the opposite shore is easily accessible via the pier. Easy to cycle around the lake (approx. 40 km) with many small bathing opportunities along the way.

"Beautiful place right on the lake - We were allowed to choose our own pitch and had a beautiful view of the lake. The sanitary facilities are nicely designed, almost like a small village in the middle of the site. There is an area a few minutes' walk away where you can swim in the lake. The staff are nice, there is a restaurant which was well frequented (but we didn't get to try it out because we were only passing through. It is possible to cycle around the lake on a cycle path. We will definitely go there again.

"Good stopover on the way to Paris - Great campsite, solid and basically clean. Easy to access, mainly higher shade trees. Close to the lake. Sandy beach. A walk over the dyke is recommended!

" - Nice place, located directly on the lake. The sanitary buildings are a bit outdated and therefore in need of renovation. However, they were functional and clean. Great hiking opportunities, also for dog owners. The dog was even allowed in the water. Very friendly gentleman at reception who was happy to provide extensive information, even at the end of the season.

" - I loved this campsite. There is no through traffic as it is located on a peninsula. The lake is within easy reach and great for longer bike rides. You can walk or cycle across the lake via a jetty to a popular station where there are more restaurants, boat rental, harbor, bike rental, playgrounds, ... . Great, because in summer it is difficult to get a parking space there.

Profil

Located in the heart of the Champagne region, the Lac de Der is a veritable fresh water sea. The lake’s sandy beach is only a short walk from the campsite where the water sports on offer include sailing, wind surfing, …jet ski and pedalo hire and a full programme of events for all the family. The lake also boasts 250 kms of signposted paths and trails through the surrounding farmland and woods, a real birdwatchers’ paradise. And all this just a few hours’ drive from Paris!
