- Uli B.August 2022PozitivnoThe site is lovingly laid out and very clean. The check-in was completely contactless and we were able to drive straight onto the campsite. Large pitches. Good shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity (Aldi/Jumbo)NegativnoThe play equipment in the playground could do with a drop of oil. The constant squeaking is annoying. Sanitary facilities clean but a little too small for the HS.Beautiful CP directly on the dikeThe campsite is located directly on the dyke, not far from Harlingen. The beach can be reached on foot in 10 minutes and is not overcrowded. Small canals run through the area of the campsite. Some of the pitches are really incredibly large.Automatski prevedeno.
- Bernd K.July 2020PozitivnoHarlingen is easy to reach on foot. By bike anyway. Good shopping facilities in Harlingen.NegativnoSanitary facilities !!!Centrally located campsiteIt was our first time on this pitch and we were initially very enthusiastic about the size. However, our enthusiasm quickly waned when we looked at the sanitary facilities after setting up. It is incomprehensible that so few toilets and showers are allowed for a site of this size.
As a result, there... were constant waiting times. At peak times (mainly towards the evening) it was sometimes not possible to wash your hands after using the toilet. All the washbasins were used for washing up. Even in those that are not actually intended for this purpose. In the so-called main building, everything is under one roof. Ladies/men's toilets and showers (only 2 for ladies!!). It's also not exactly hygienic that you have to wash your dishes more or less next to the toilets. We also had the feeling that Corona is not taken very seriously in the Netherlands. Mouth and nose protection is not compulsory. It was also not always possible to keep your distance in the sanitary facilities.
Showering costs 50 cents. You are happy to pay if the water is hot and the water pressure is right. Both were rarely the case.
We will neither visit this place again nor recommend it to others!Automatski prevedeno. - Martin J.August 2019PozitivnoRight by the seaNegativnoShowers cost 50 centsFamily friendlyA great and family-friendly campsite right by the sea and a 10-minute walk to the historically beautiful town.Automatski prevedeno.
- Stefan L.July 2019PozitivnoLocation, tranquillity, size of the pitchesNegativnoSanitary facilities (see above)Great location, friendly staff - but...The site is in a fantastic location. Right on the water and the beautiful town of Harlingen is just a few minutes' walk away. Online booking went smoothly. However, full payment must be made in advance. The staff on site are super friendly. The pitches are large enough for motorhomes. Everything was... fine so far. If it weren't for one thing: - The sanitary facilities are very special: in addition to a smaller building (which has the character of a container), toilets, showers, hand basins and basins for washing dishes are combined in a single large room in the main sanitary building (ladies and gentlemen are also only separated by room dividers). Neither soap for washing hands nor hand dryers are available. Only two sinks for washing dishes. Hot water for dishes or showers only against payment of 50 cents (nevertheless, once only cold water came in the shower...). And for washing dishes it can be quite scarce. - There are no shopping facilities on site. Fortunately, Aldi and other stores are not far away. However, you can order bread rolls. - Disposal of the chemical toilet is very easy (bowl and hose). Basically no problem for us. But unfortunately the disposal point was quite dirty. - We were there with our two large dogs. As the campsite allows dogs, there should also be bags for disposing of their "business". Especially since it is explicitly pointed out that you should also dispose of them. - You can only get water in the sanitary facilities. We didn't find any other taps on site. The small restaurant on site is OK. Not too much choice. But the quality is OK. Staff very friendly here too. However, the prices are on the pain threshold. Conclusion: it was nice in Harlingen. However, we won't be going back a second time.Automatski prevedeno.
- Ulrike J.April 2019PozitivnoClose to Harlingen, friendly staffNegativnoSanitary facilities, no soap dispenser, you have to pay for every drop of hot waterNice place with not so nice sanitary facilitiesHarlingen is easy to reach from the campsite by bike or on foot. Various supermarkets nearby. The pitches are nicely laid out. You could also have breakfast in the restaurant as a camping guest. But: the sanitary facilities did not work at all. Shower and toilets wall to wall open at the top. After showering,... everything in front of the showers was under water. A no go was: no soap dispenser at the hand wash basins for washing hands after using the toilet. Even for washing hands and dishes with warm water you had to put money in the machine.Automatski prevedeno.
- Chris G.April 2019PozitivnoLarge CP close to the mudflats.NegativnoThe sanitary facilities should also be cleaned more often in the low seasoncentrally located campsiteShort distance to the beach. Across the road, onto the dune and the water. Shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity of the site. Free choice of pitch in the low season.Automatski prevedeno.
- Wolfgang K.July 2017PozitivnoGood for an overnight stayNegativnoThe main road is a bit annoying as the cars can be heard until late in the evening and from early in the morning.Place on the "edge of Friesland"A place that is often visited by travelers who want to go further down the coast ("next stop Afsluitsdijk"). Uncomplicated reception. Bread roll service in the restaurant. Shopping at Aldi 300m down the road towards Harlingen. Harlingen is very easy to reach on foot or better by bike. Great sunsets in the sea: cinema feeling on the dike!Automatski prevedeno.
- Kari N.July 2017PozitivnoBeautiful fields, enough space.NegativnoYou have to pay for water to flush!Ok, but expensiveWere there with a tent. Ok sanitary facilities, but no cooking facilities. You have to pay for hot water all the time. Camping huts are depressed. Restaurant on site, but no possibility for small shopping.Automatski prevedeno.
- Sabrina L.June 2016Pozitivno- Close to the city - nice operatorsNegativno-every drop of hot water costs - no nice bath for children/babiesCozy, simple place, we drive satisfied :-)The reception and further encounters with the site operators were very nice. German is spoken very well. You can order bread rolls (baked rolls) and pick them up in the restaurant from 8am. Unfortunately, there is no supermarket, kiosk or similar on the site. The pitches are nice and large, with their... own electricity connection and relatively sheltered. When we were there, it wasn't very busy, so we only had 2 other camper pitches in our field. This meant that our little daughter was able to move around freely on the pitch for the most part. Our dog was also given a warm welcome. There were lots of dogs on the pitch. The sanitary buildings are simple but clean. In our sanitary building, men and women were together, left and right, with washbasins on one side. Unfortunately no soap and no possibility to dry your hands. Every drop of hot water costs money, 50 cents. Thanks to the start/stop button it was enough for showering, but when washing up you could fill up 1 basin, then the water ran out. They even charged 50 cents for the children's bath. Here, too, the water ran for about 3 minutes, which I don't really think is much for bathing a baby or toddler. It was sufficient for us, but not a comfortable bath. The children's bathroom was locked, but was unlocked for us in good time when we asked. Thank goodness it was warm on our bathing day, we wouldn't have been able to stand it in the small children's bath with the door closed, and it also smelled musty. It would be more pleasant to leave the children's bathroom locked and hand over the key each time, but at least provide the hot water there free of charge!!! There are no cooking facilities on the site. Motorhomes also have nice pitches at the beginning of the site. There were also many people from all over the world on site. Washing machine & dryer available for a reasonable fee. Small playground, not exactly suitable for the little ones. Just cross the road and the dyke and you're on the beach... A little further.... Sandy beach, but we wouldn't have wanted to swim there. Didn't look very inviting. Price/performance ratio was OK for us with the ACSI card. We had a great time and would visit this site again. For a few days with not so high demands, the place is great.Automatski prevedeno.
- Jurgen P.August 2014PozitivnoProximity to the seaNegativnoEverything costs (showers, Wifi, fresh water for the Womo)More bad than good...The first impression is quite ok...but at second glance it is very poor..everything costs something!!! Hot water when showering...so showering becomes a rush...otherwise you are freshly soaped and have to go out again and throw money...not acceptable...Wifi costs, fresh water for the Womo costs, all this spoils the stay...and then the noise from the highway... That was my last visit to this campsite! !Automatski prevedeno.
- Tobias C.July 2014PozitivnoWalking distance to HarlingenNegativnoeverything beyond the pitch costs extra unfriendly owner nearby beach and water polluted highway clearly audibleUnfriendlyWe were dissatisfied: Costs out of season over a weekend with a boat race in Harlingen 29,70€/night for 3 adults and 2 children in the camper, generally hot water only for 50 cents per 4 min, W-Lan extra costs, relatively noisy camping site, mosquitoes without end, it was also strange that we had to commit ourselves to a certain number of nights in advance and there was no possibility to extend (which we would not have used after the experience).Automatski prevedeno.
- Heiner M.June 2014PozitivnoClose to the port city.NegativnoQuite windyBeautiful placeWe had lovely days here which we were even able to extend! We also enjoyed a visit to the island of Terschelling.Automatski prevedeno.
- Markus M.May 2014PozitivnoClose to the city, directly on the dikeNegativnoProximity to the highwayBehind the dikePitches divided by canals and bridges on grass with a gravel base. The bridges are very slippery at the edges! Sanitary facilities are clean and simple.Automatski prevedeno.
- Olaf V.April 2014Unfortunately, this campsite promises more than it can deliver. The actually good location on the edge of the beautiful harbor town of Harlingen directly on the dike is clouded by the nearby highway. since there are no noise barriers, there can be no question of relaxing peace. the entire site area is... characterized by partly quite old and unkempt Starrcaravans. small bridges that should allow the crossing of the small idyllic canals on the rear part of the square are so mossy and weathered that it is already dangerous (danger of slipping). In general, no great care is taken with the maintenance of the course. The lawnmower man, who started his work at 8 o'clock in the morning, spread the freshly mown grass over all the paths and access roads. Every walk across the pitch to the toilets, for example, ended with a thorough cleaning of shoes - and this went on for several days. The toilets and showers were relatively clean. You have to pay an extra 50 cents for hot water, which I don't think is really up to date, especially as the pitch fees are not exactly cheap. In any case, the use of the site's own W-Lan network is overpriced. 5Euro per day. For a short trip the place is ok, the place with its many 3 mast sailors in the harbor is very worth seeing.Automatski prevedeno.
- ilse z.July 2013De Zeehoeve campsite is located directly behind the dyke. Great recreational value because of the good air, the excellent view from the dike, the long sandy beach invites you to take a walk and for children to play. The splendid historic harbor town of Harlingen with all its sailing ships is an ideal... starting point for day trips to the offshore islands. The heated sanitary facilities are clean and can be used at any time. There are two playgrounds. The pitches are partly asphalted or with short-cut grass. The whole site is very spacious and always well frequented.Automatski prevedeno.
- Hans-Peter M.June 2013Nice place in a good location, just behind the dike. The beautiful fishing village of Harlingen can be reached on foot in ten minutes. There are many restaurants there which also offer good cuisine. Unfortunately, this cannot be said of the restaurant on the campsite itself. The food here is rather below... average and I cannot recommend the restaurant at all. Unfortunately, they don't even respond when dishes, in our case a "stretched instant tomato soup", are returned in full.Automatski prevedeno.
- Sabsi M.May 2013Deutsch/Nederlands: We found the campsite okay, but not outstanding. We came with a flat tire on our bike, they didn't want to lend us an air pump overnight. It was a pity that there was so little trust. The sanitary facilities and campsite were clean. The pitch is relatively straightforward, typical... for caravans. Not quite as nice with a tent, but you can spend a good night. Sanitary facilities were old but clean. It was annoying that everything was kept very open. If you're a woman taking a shower, you can still hear when a man is in the toilet... All in all, you can stay there for a night. But I wouldn't spend an entire vacation there. Here I try to tell you about the campsite in Dutch: De campingplaats De Zeehoeve is a large site on the outskirts of Harlingen. Automatski prevedeno.
- Hermann R.May 2013relatively simple place...quiet,,price performance very high, among other showers extra pay and also hot water to rinse extra with 50 centsAutomatski prevedeno.
- c. k.July 2012good base for activities elsewhereAutomatski prevedeno.
- Thomas F.April 2011We stayed in Harlingen for 7 nights over Easter 2011. Our impression of the campsite itself: friendly crew, no supermarket, green areas: OK with some drawbacks, sanitary facilities can just about be described as OK. The site is ideal for a vacation with a dog. The 3 stars are realistic. Location: Harlingen... is a really beautiful and idyllic little town, not too small and not too big, which you can easily reach on foot or by bike. Supermarkets are in the immediate vicinity of the campsite. There is a very nice shopping mile and also cozy restaurants, cafés and snack bars, as well as a very nice sailing ship harbor and peer facility. Day trips to Terschelling (the ferry prices are quite steep) or Leeudwarden are a good option. From the campsite you just have to cross the road and you are right on the dunes and even have a wide beach with a beach café, which is very nice for the North Sea. Contrary to the signs, nobody keeps dogs on a lead. The campsite is anything but overcrowded and even over Easter there was still capacity, so our reservation was actually superfluous. All in all, we spent quiet and relaxing days in Harlingen.Automatski prevedeno.
