Super campsite
The campsite is located on a small island in the Little Belt. The ferry leaves every hour. Very nice and helpful German owners. The campsite is very quiet in the middle of the island. The sanitary facilities are very clean. At the entrance there is a small petting zoo with goats, kangaroos and alpacas... (you can even take guided tours with them). You can take long walks along the beach and into the bird sanctuary (but only from July 15). The best way to explore the island is by bike or golf cart (can be hired at the harbor). Of course you can also walk. The CP is highly recommended.gggggggg

Dream island in a dream place
If you are looking for peace and quiet and lots of untouched nature, this is the place for you. You can walk along the water for hours without meeting people. If you like good food, wine, fish or brewed beer, you will also find what you are looking for on this small island, as there is a winery and a... brewery. And there is also a farmer with fresh fruit and vegetables. You can explore this island by bike, on foot or by golf cart, or you can stay on the great square, sit in the café, marvel at the animals in the small animal park or get out the badminton. Children will make friends in the playground and can use the pedal cars on the course free of charge. The water is just 300 m from the campsite. Put on your bathing shoes and dive into the clear water. Undäs simply loved it here.

Super large pitches. Plenty of distance to the neighbors. Booking was not necessary at the beginning of July, there were plenty of free pitches. The store is good for buying everyday things. Bread roll service is also available. We stayed here for 2 nights and spent a day exploring the island by bike. As it is not too big, we were already around after 1.30 hours of leisurely cycling. You can also hire an electric caddy to explore the island. I like the map system and the fact that you can activate the shower in the cabin. With 200 Dkk you are well equipped. The card is also valid for the electricity columns on site and for the private bathroom. As there are only 2 showers each for men and women, it was no problem for us as early risers. We were the only ones at half past six in the morning.

The sanitary facilities are okay and clean. However, they are getting on in years.
Great campsite
A wonderful, quiet island to relax and escape the hectic pace of everyday life.

Sanitary disaster!
Insider tip for nature lovers without great demands
If you want lots of space and peace and quiet, don't like fences and would like stick bread around the campfire near your own tent, this is the place for you. The people are nice and the place is simply beautiful. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are more than just dilapidated. They are very old... and poorly cleaned. The island is a dream, the campsite is beautifully situated and the marina is idyllic. If you can look past the toilets and the like, you will feel very comfortable here. NOTE to the operator's answer: This does not only refer to the general cleanliness. There weren't many children there when we were there. The "new" family showers are a good idea and were also very well thought out. Unfortunately, the ventilation is very poor, so a lot of mold is visible. Things that are broken (e.g. a broken shower head) are patched up in a makeshift manner. There is no regular investment. The sanitary facilities were built by the first campsite operator. Since then, I was a guest at the Arö campsite as a child, little or nothing has been renovated. The grates in the washbasin, which are supposed to protect the siphon from blockages, have rusted through. These are cent items that could be replaced bit by bit. The showers are really very dirty. The units in the showers go through too quickly, so the water stays cold for a very long time. The foot basin was, I think it was Aage, built with a lot of effort. I was always washed there as a small child. Today I wouldn't even wash my feet in it. They make an effort, there's no question about that. I'm afraid there's a lot of operational blindness and a bit too much composure at work here. You've decorated the entrance area beautifully with flowers and installed a new barrier so that day tourists don't keep driving around the site in their e-mobiles and disturbing the peace. However, you lose sight of the essentials. Necessary repairs and renovations to the sanitary facilities. This is certainly a higher investment than flowers or a barrier. Nevertheless, your sanitary facilities are your flagship. You won't be able to attract or retain new customers if it stays that way. As I said, I love the place. I like your calm, relaxed Danish mentality, your friendliness. But the showers and toilets are a big drawback :-)

It saddens me to see that the customers here have the impression that our toilets are not cleaned. I guarantee that our sanitary facilities are cleaned daily between 1200-1400 hours. If you use the toilets just before noon, and there are many customers here, it may give the impression that they are not... cleaned.
Our sanitary facilities were renovated in 2009-10, and we built two new family shower rooms in 2009.

NOTE:
I can only regret that this customer got such an impression.
And I would like to say this:
In the large toilet room, all the toilets, all the washbasins up to two or three in the women's section, were newly installed in 2009 and 2010. And I built the four shower cubicles (two in each department) myself in 2010. All the turnarounds were renewed in 2011.
It is because of these improvements to our sanitary facilities that we have gone from 2 to 3 stars....
I don't understand this criticism. And this is also the first time that we get such a criticism. We always get praise for our cleaning. And we get praise for everything we have done since we took over the place in 2008.
I hope that this criticism will not scare new customers.
And to you I want to say: Come and see for yourselves, here is nice and clean. And at Aarø Camping you will have a good vacation.
