- Claudia K.August 2019PozitivaGood ferry connectionWell-kept CP, good as a ferry siteClean campsite, ideal for the first or last day of arrival in England. The ferry in Dover can be reached in 25 minutes. Therefore there is a lot of arrival and departure traffic. Playground available. Two sanitary blocks, always clean.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Benjamin F.June 2018PozitivaConveniently located, 20 minutes from/to DoverNegativaMain road sometimes loud, can also be heard at the back of the square. Expensive.Conveniently located, 20 minutes from/to DoverCaravan and Motorhome Club site. Therefore unfortunately relatively expensive for non-members (members save 12 pounds per night (as of 2018). Directly accessible via main road A260. Friendly reception. Very well-kept site. Mostly gravelled, parcelled pitches, partly separated by hedges and larger trees.... Separate part of the site, unfortunately located directly on the main road, for those traveling through to the ferry to/from Dover. Main road can be heard very loudly there. Pitch secured by barrier. Barrier can be opened with a code. Exit possible at any time. Sanitary blocks a bit outdated but clean. Fenced dog run available. Not far away is a popular pub with typical cuisine.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Kim H.July 2017PozitivaClose to ferryNegativaNone of themAccommodation close to the ferryIt's a short drive to the ferries in Dover and a couple of hours to Harwich. There is a small grocery store just opposite the entrance to the siteAutomaticky přeloženo.
- Karl F.July 2017Pozitiva- Ferry Dover can be reached in a good 20 min - very clean site - extra trailer spaces (you can see practically ready for departure)Negativa- Places for "ferry campers" very noisy ( busy road ) - high priceClean ferry campsite - very noisy "ferry stands"Arrival in the afternoon with a trailer. Fast processing. Extra space for trailers and early departure to the ferry to Dover possible at any time (4 o'clock). Otherwise everything was clean. KO criterion for us: At least the extra "ferry places" are directly on a busy road - even at night. Very noisy and most expensive place on our trip. We won't be staying here again and can't really recommend it.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Johannes T.June 2015PozitivaIdeal as a stopover before or after the ferry well maintained, like all Caravan Club sitesNegativano late arrivalCaravanClub site near the ferry portYou don't really need to say much about the CaravanClub pitches. They are all excellent and well maintained. In some cases there are discounts for members, but there are also sites that only allow club members. We have been using Blackhorse Farm for years as a stopover after or before the ferry crossing.... The site is easy to get to, only a few minutes' drive from Dover Port, but is very quiet and a little out of the way (we recently bought a Snooper Ventura, a campervan navigation system that allows you to enter the dimensions of your campervan, which also includes the club pitches). If you are planning a longer stay in the area, I would prefer the Daleacres site, which is nicer and quieter because it is not frequented by those just waiting for the ferry. However, Blackhorse Farm is divided into two parts: the "real" tourist pitches (there are meadow pitches and hardstandings) and the pitches outside the barrier, from which you can set off for the ferry at night without disturbing the other campers. The only drawback: the site does not have a late arrival service, which many other club sites offerAutomaticky přeloženo.
- Matthias K.August 2011PozitivaIdeal if you are coming from the Eurotunnel or have to get there the next dayVery well maintained and clean. Highly recommended. For us, who had taken the directions from the Internet from their website, it was very difficult to find from the Eurotunnel, as they were poorly described. You can quickly get lost here. Absolute nightmare. Just like ours. A very nice Englishman who we asked for directions then drove us straight there.... That was great, of course. Some other camping guides have a better description of the route! Which we will use next time. But then the surprise, beautifully situated, very clean, well maintained and the sanitary facilities also clean and well maintained. It is also a 5 star campsite. We paid just under 19 pounds for 1 tent + 2 people, which is very reasonable in my opinion. A very good campsite for a vacation in England as a base if you are either coming from the tunnel or want to drive back. We will be back! ... with good directions;-)Automaticky přeloženo.
- Barbara K.August 2010Wonderful opportunity to find comfortable accommodation before taking the ferry back to Calais. There is a special pitch for people who want to get to Dover in the middle of the night (approx. 20 min.) to catch the ferry, and late arrivals can also be accommodated here after registering by telephone... (highly recommended in England). Shopping facilities in the town are good, the welcome is warm, the office is open longer than usual in Britain, all in all a nice end to a motorhome trip through Britain!Automaticky přeloženo.
