We got off the ferry in Piombino, arrived at the campsite around 4pm and had a lovely afternoon and evening in Pisa.
The campsite is ideally located to easily 'take in' Pisa, so you accept that it is quite cramped and restless. The sanitary facilities... are good when they have just been cleaned (pleasantly large shower!), but then quickly become dingy again.

The sanitary facilities were cleaned several times a day. The campsite is very quiet but within sight of the Leaning Tower. The pool is nice, the cocktails at the bar great and the food in the restaurant very good. The croissants for breakfast were huge and still delicious the next day. Friendly welcome, free choice of pitch, clean sanitary facilities. It's a 20-minute drive from there to the Livorno ferry port. The leaning tower and the old town were a 10-minute walk away. The showers hadn't been cleaned properly for a long time and I made an effort not to touch anything. Mold and greasy... residue on each of the shower doors. Maybe they shouldn't have used white wooden doors here. No storage facilities and really very filthy. The fact that others have rated this as "adequate" shocks me a little. However, the pitches were clean and mostly shady. Ok for a visit to Pisa, but I wouldn't want to go on vacation there because of the sanitary facilities.Automaticky přeloženo.

The center is within easy walking distance. The site is mainly used by short-term campers for one or two nights. However, the location is not ideal for more than a visit to the Leaning Tower. In our opinion, the campsite is not... suitable for a longer stay. However, it is well run, clean and tidy. We cannot confirm the negative comments about the sanitary facilities. Everything was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly. The small market is well stocked. The way there is not so great, everything is a bit dingy and you have to go through a busy tunnel. But okay, it's the space that counts here. Everything is actually quite tidy. The pitches are partly... gravelled or grassed, but don't have a feel-good character. The sanitary facilities, there are two buildings, are fine. There is a small supermarket and a pool with compulsory swimming caps, and a bar in front of it (without compulsory swimming caps :-)). Everyone was very friendly. There is a small store on the square itself which is quite well stocked. Only the fresh bread rolls in the morning reminded us more of cardboard than bread.
