The tent meadow at the end of the site is very shaded, perfect in summer but now in September it takes until you see the sun. Quiet location, 10 minutes walk to Edeka and a small natural outdoor pool close to the site are great. For showers for 50 cents you have 30 liters... available. 4€ for the washing machine and another 4€ for the dryer are already the upper limit. It is good that a bread roll service is offered. Apart from the occasional dog barking, we didn't notice any noise I made a few excursions with the children. A lot can be reached in under 30 minutes. We were at the bottom towards the tent meadow and had to take the toilet and water tank all the way up the mountain. According to the operator, it is because of the rocky area why there is no pipe down there. There is nothing to do on the site in terms of leisure. High priced place. We paid €165 for 3 nightsPerfectly located for excursions in the regionAnyone looking for a campsite for excursions in the Brocken region is in good hands here. As we didn't put up an awning, the slope wasn't a problem for us. But with an awning it's a different story.
Although we were given a friendly welcome, we were immediately threatened with expulsion if we didn't follow the rules. The... rules (prohibitions) were clearly written everywhere. We found that a bit strange. But the rules of the course were quite normal.
The name "... am Brocken" is probably more marketing, as the site is not on the Brocken.

Despite the public holiday and the simultaneous sale of bread rolls, they took time for us, showed us our pitch and clarified all the formalities. There were also no problems, as we were a group with a tent, caravan and roof tent. The sanitary facilities were clean. We were traveling with our toddler at a time when the camping summer festival was taking place. We asked to keep the night's rest, because until midnight there was still very loud music playing all over the campsite and none of us could sleep.
The answer was that... we could "fuck off". So that's what we did:
We packed our things in the middle of the night and left.
Unfortunately, we could only leave with the help of the police because the owners wouldn't let us check out and open the barrier. We were only able to leave in the presence of the police.

They expelled me from the site because I asked for help at reception. I could not align my motorhome straight (on a slope) and satellite reception was not possible on the assigned, unclear pitches.... My question was answered on site by the employee, who said that the Harz Mountains were hilly and that I could choose a pitch in the XL area. Alternatively, I could get a normal pitch. However, there were no XL pitches with a horizontal orientation. She didn't even mention the SAT reception. Without a word or solution, the employee disappeared and returned with the presumed boss. No hello or what it was about. He stayed in the car and started shouting? No sensible communication was possible. Then came the dismissal. I asked for a refund of the deposit and the deposit money. He didn't want to refund the deposit. I insisted on it. The money was actually thrown at my feet at reception. The boss and two employees then shouted at me in a massively communicative and undignified manner. It was beneath all human dignity. The campsite is very well maintained and the sanitary facilities are also very clean and are cleaned daily. Freshly baked bread rolls are available every day. There is a small store on the... site where you can get the most necessary things. There is a discount store about 2km away where you can buy everything you need. There is a very nice natural outdoor pool about 100m away. If the weather had been a bit better, we would certainly have used it. Everything on the campsite is very straightforward. The barrier is operated with a card. From 13:00-15:00 and 22:00 to 07:00 is rest time. Showers as already mentioned 30l for 0,50€. If you don't turn the showers on full, this is enough for father and son. A bread... roll service is offered and the most necessary in the kiosk. The sanitary facilities are cleaned regularly and are not muddy even when it rains. Waste water can be disposed of in a separate house.
All in all, it's the kind of place you want and, with its central location in the Harz Mountains, it's the ideal starting point for trips to the Rappbodetalsperre dam, Wernersgrün, Blankenburg, Thale, Goslar and Brocken.
