The reception was very friendly and you can choose your own pitch. (This means you don't have to wait for the end of the lunch break, as with many other campsites) Bread rolls and bread service. You can take a cab to Zermatt (cheaper... than by train) we have already been to the campsite in 2019. Now with the new sanitary facilities we liked it better. Although the site was very busy, the sanitary facilities were clean.

In winter, the campsite is reduced to the bare essentials. There is only one sanitary building open with very few showers and toilets, which is also in need of repair. As the restaurant is now permanently closed (until... a new tenant is found), there are no shopping or eating facilities on site. Täsch (terminus of the train to Zermatt) and the village of Randa can be reached on foot in approx. 30 - 40 minutes. If you want to go from the campsite to Zermatt, you can take a group cab in the morning at 8, 9 or 10 a.m. and back in the evening at 4 or 5 p.m. (one way CHF 7 pp.) Alternatively, you can of course book a (more expensive!) cab yourself or walk to Täsch. Every available pitch was used. When you thought the place was full, a bus full of campers arrived in the evening. As a result, the few, outdated sanitary facilities (4 showers each for men... and women) were completely overloaded and dirtier than I have ever seen anywhere else. Queuing at the toilets. Power cuts due to overcrowding. Payment only in cash, no EC or credit cards. Otherwise the site is in a great location, beautiful scenery and close to Zermatt. The cab to Zermatt is cheaper than the train. Everyone was very friendly and there was a bread roll service. But due to overcrowding we left earlier than planned.Automaticky přeloženo.

A very nice, well-kept, inexpensive campsite, large green meadows and also smaller shady side pitches, very good and very clean sanitary facilities, the site not too crowded even in July, extremely nice, friendly and pretty campsite manager,... the site is conveniently located just before Zermatt, Zermatt can be reached quickly by cab bus, the ride on the cog railroad to the Gornergrat (the main reason for my trip) with a view of the Matterhorn and the many four-thousand-meter peaks (including the Dufourspitze) with glacier even more beautiful than I had hoped. After a short hike you reach the train station from where you can get to Zermatt. Partly Swiss socket systemIdeal campsite for a visit to ZermattWe spent the night on the site for a visit to Zermatt. The pitches are mostly on a meadow without parcelling. We had to park again as there were only Swiss sockets at the electricity column and no Schuko or CEE. The sanitary facilities are difficult to keep clean as everyone carries the soil into the... sanitary facilities via the damp meadow. At the reception you can sign up for a shuttle service to Zermatt or bread rolls for the next day. Ideal for visits to Zermatt.We stayed at this campsite in April to hike in the Mattertal valley and had a great time. The campsite is simply equipped, so arrival, payment, services and departure were completely uncomplicated. We were here in the transitional period between winter and summer season. The campsite is less frequented... during this time and therefore only half of the sanitary facilities are open. Reception is located in the restaurant at this time. Very friendly reception, easy to choose a pitch. Weather, activity and hiking tips from the friendly staff included. Extensive bread roll and bread service. Zermatt is very easy to reach via a regular cab shuttle directly from the campsite or alternatively after a 20-minute walk from Randa or Täsch by train. (Taxi is about half the price.) Staying with a dog is also unproblematic in every respect. The food and service in the restaurant should definitely be enjoyed. I am also very happy to award 5 stars for this. A simple but correspondingly uncomplicated and relaxed campsite in a fantastic mountain setting. Sure, the sanitary facilities are no longer the latest, but they are clean. There are no pitches as such, it's a meadow with distributed power connections. Everyone pitches where they want. The reception was friendly, the Asci card was accepted, and that for this location! Great starting point for visitors to Zermatt and the surrounding area!
