Actually a nice campsite, many things could be improved
The campsite has a sufficiently large and well signposted access road. The barrier opens automatically with license plate recognition. Reception at the reception was ok.
The pitch we booked was very steep, so we couldn't park our caravan parallel to the path.
Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities also... left a lot to be desired. Some of the toilets were broken and/or not really clean. Unfortunately, we always had to queue to wash up as there were only 4 sinks available.
The mini market was unfortunately closed, bread rolls had to be ordered in the restaurant (little choice).
In the restaurant itself, food and drinks had to be picked up independently (with a beeper) at the counter.

However, the Biggesee and the surrounding area are really beautiful.

Conclusion: For us, not a campsite that we would visit for longer than 3/4 days. Very suitable for weekend trips or short vacations as a group.

Worst New Year's Eve in a long time
I checked with the operator beforehand to find out how extreme the fireworks are here on New Year's Eve.
There is a ban on the site itself, which unfortunately was not adhered to.
Nobody is available in an emergency.
In addition, the site actually has an associated private parking lot that can only be... passed through a barrier to get to the actual campsite.... But this was OPEN FOR ALL AND THE PARKING LOT LIMITS DIRECTLY TO THE PLACE LINE 20 METERS.
I SPENT THE WHOLE NIGHT IN MY DOG'S BASKET.
We haven't had such a noisy New Year's Eve for a long time and for the price of 202 euros for 3 nights.
The disposal of the camping toilet on the Rehweg was defective.
Sanitary facilities are good and clean.
At this time of year everything on the site is closed.
The village of Sondern can be reached on foot in 20 minutes via a beautiful path.
But we just wanted peace and quiet.

I've been a camper for decades. I have visited dozens of campsites in my life as a camper. In all these years I have never experienced a more unfriendly receptionist than here.
If you can't cope with all the digital bells and whistles, you should retire.
Just the fact that I wanted to book an extra day... presented the lady with an almost unsolvable problem. After I was supposed to pay almost 50 euros for one night (traveling alone with a car) and I interrupted, I ended up paying an additional 34 euros. If I hadn't been a member of a group, I would have left with flying colors.

Beach not pleasant to walk on for disabled people like me. Downhill, lots of steps, no seating.
On the so-called bathing beach........ full of duck droppings and unkempt.
I wouldn't have let my children play there.
Minimarket, this name corresponds to the assortment.

great campsite even if the dog goes with you!
We celebrated New Year's Eve in a caravan on the campsite with two dogs. We liked it very much, our impression was: clean, well organized, well-kept, friendly, and a quick janitor who immediately made a small repair to the disabled toilet.

We will definitely be back in the spring!

Permanent accommodation available.
But there is also enough space for caravans. Car can be parked on the pitch.

Some of the circular areas are suitable for groups.

Great swimming opportunities in the Biggesee
Good Greek snack bar.
Hardly any shopping facilities on the site.
Table tennis tables and 2 smaller playgrounds, otherwise nothing extra for children.
Vacation supervision sparse. Could be improved.
Friendliness of reception rather mediocre.
Further swimming pool in Olpe or Aquamagis in Plettenberg.
Fort Fun amusement park a good hour's drive away.
10km circular hiking trail also suitable for children. Very good cafes also in Sondern. Walking distance.
Large shopping facilities in Olpe or Attendorn.
Mountain bike and cycle path network well signposted.
Excursion boat trip on the Biggesee.

Super location, sanitary always clean, very well maintained - come back again
The location of the campsite is unbeatable. The surrounding area is super beautiful and offers many cycling and hiking opportunities. The one or other little town is also worth a visit.
The site is very well-kept and you can always see someone mowing or sowing grass somewhere. We also liked the ground,... simply because the water drained away well after the rain and you didn't have to stand in a puddle for days on end (something everyone has probably experienced).
The sanitary building in the upper area is very well organized, always clean and heated to a reasonable temperature. The only thing I would have to criticize is that the doors inside are not labeled (shower, washing area, etc). I also found the water intervals in the shower quite annoying. They could be longer, as it felt like you had to press the button ten times when washing your hair, for example. Complaining at a high level.
We thought it was great that the operators gave us one coin per day to use the dishwasher! It really makes washing up easier and saves a lot of water - a win-win situation. There is also a vending machine to clean the toilet cassettes (2€ per cleaning is worth it).
The taverna is not really anything special. The staff there are really friendly, but we weren't blown away by the food. However, it's definitely good enough for a snack.

Visitors do not have to pay a visitor's fee as you know it, only the fee for the parking lot is due (4€ max. daily rate).

I can't really confirm the comments about the operators being unfriendly. Yes, it's not the personalized warmth you might find elsewhere. But everyone was always very nice, polite and courteous.

All in all, a really nice place, we had a great time and will definitely be back to see the things in the area that we didn't manage to do now :)

Food... in the so-called "tavern by the lake" was rather average, fries were forgotten and only delivered 15 minutes later with just a little mayonnaise from the bag

Bathing area full of goose droppings and has to be paid for separately with no play facilities. The bathing island is a superfluous joke.
Not a 5 star place...
The receptionist on arrival was unfriendly and unhelpful. On departure another couple there, they were very nice.
The sanitary facilities are not suitable for families, no washing facilities for small children, no removable shower head. Water temperature not adjustable and rather cold. Often no soap... or hand sanitizer. Far too few individual washing cubicles.
Washing machine and dryer could not be used, you need 10! 50 cent pieces, which could not be exchanged on the pitch. Maybe keep a few rolls of coins in stock? Just a tip.... for an alleged 5 star place.
Playground far too small for the number of children.
The restaurant on site is just a snack bar, not really recommended.
Mini market has an unusable assortment.
The bathing island, which is highly praised by the operator, is simply a plastic deck with no real value. The meadow is filthy with goose droppings and is probably not cleaned, yet an entrance fee is charged. The "beach" consists of coarse pebbles and cannot be used by small children. Neither a sandpit nor a playground make you want to visit.
All in all....never a 5 star place and far too expensive for what is on offer. Thank you...but we certainly won't be back.

Beautifully situated - no relaxation
The location of the campsite on a sunny hilltop is very beautiful, with differently designed areas inviting permanent campers, families and larger groups to explore the beautiful Sauerland. A newly created wooden wagon area is a very good idea.
The hospitable atmosphere that existed in recent years has... changed to an unfriendly, scary atmosphere at night, the likes of which you don't even see on the very well-secured sites around Marseille. Patrolling members of a security service misunderstand their customer service and frighten guests and especially children with their provocative behavior.
Unfortunately, this does not provide the hoped-for relaxation for families. According to the management, this is the new procedure to finally get the excesses of recent years under control. During our various stays in recent years, the aforementioned excesses have never become apparent despite long evenings.
This type of armament does not do justice to the guest structure and is more in line with security concepts in military areas or football stadiums. Perhaps this is a preparation for the coming conflicts in the new, unfortunately very cramped, wooden caravan area, which is more reminiscent of mobile refugee accommodation than a vacation home.
I wish the operators a return to the successful concept of recent years - with Sauerland heart & hand

The campsite is in beautiful surroundings. The sanitary facilities are ok. The shower cubicles have a second door so that the change of linen/towels does not necessarily get wet.
Negativa
No hot water in the showers at night. No toilet paper to be found anywhere after 10 pm at the latest. Prices not proportionate. Corona surcharge, one wonders what for with rather mediocre hygiene. The bathing beach is also to be paid extra for campsite residents.
Unfortunately no hospitality to be felt
Unfortunately, we didn't have a great time here. The site manager and night watchman were remarkably aggressive and militant. The night watchman took the fire in our cooking area (no open fire!) as an opportunity to continue harassing us, even though we immediately complied with his order!!! to put out... the fire. The children were afraid to go to the toilet on their own after making the acquaintance of the night watchman, who seemed to be looking for trouble and harassment everywhere. The site management supports this unsupervised behavior - so unfortunately

Very good pitch size (possibly on a slope) Sanitary facilities are cleaned several times a day. The staff are very friendly and competent. There is also the possibility to use an easy be dishwasher or a camper clean machine.

Our stay was in the rear area of the campsite, where there are queues in front of the flushing and sanitary facilities due to the high frequency.
Short vacation
Our stay was very pleasant. The lido could not be used due to Corona but makes a very good impression. The place was also very well maintained. The mini market is a bit sparse in terms of assortment.

We've already been to a few campsites this year. This was the first one that took 3 Euro Corona additional flat rate per person and per day.
The "additional cleaning of the sanitary facilities" that are mentioned here are standard on a campsite in this price range in our opinion. and there is only hand... sanitizer in front of the individual sanitary facilities. I am not used to this at campsites in this price range. At other campsites, surface disinfectant is standard in every single toilet. Times are tough, but it's quite a lot to charge 72 euros for 2 people as a Corona flat rate for the additional cleaning work. So they only take something like this from me once...... Next time another place.
The restaurant on the square. A Greek, is the absolute hammer. Super tasty and super friendly.
Not everyone at reception is like that either. (the friendliness)

For the price you expect more. Sanitary area would have to be renewed. Sockets still without earthing contact. Stairs to the children's playroom covered with bird shit and a dead bird was also lying around. Closed due to Covid. Maybe that's why so dirty.
There is a free dishwasher. Vending machine for waste tank; but costs 2 €.
No store for groceries nearby. Only a 24h vending machine.

Expected more...
Basically, the campsite is not bad at all. The pitches are big enough, electricity and water nearby, the sanitary facilities are okay and sufficient.
The area around the Biggesee is really great, the villages of Attendorn and Olpe are easy to reach by bike and well worth seeing, cycle paths are absolutely... great and in excellent condition.
What I miss, however, is a central point on the site where you can meet in the evening or where entertainment is offered. Which brings us to the problem (at the moment):
When asked, I was told that animation is not offered due to the corona regulations - but - in a "tent camp" with approx. 15-20 tents and approx. 50-60 people, internal animation is loudly offered in the mornings, afternoons and evenings, e.g. 50-60 people sit tightly packed around beer tent sets and bake or eat pizza etc..
When asked about this, they just say that it's a "closed" group from a Dutch provider, there's nothing we can do - but I feel like a real joke.
So the viruses are spread all over the campsite, but they're making a big fuss about the tent camp ....????
The fact that there is of course no discount or other bonus for the absence of the "promised" and advertised animation is only mentioned in passing. On the contrary - a further €3 corona surcharge is payable per person per day.
Another problem is that there is no small market for everyday items, which you would expect from a 4* campsite. Two of the 4 vending machines were broken.
The only restaurant, which is directly connected to the campsite, is also probably in "corona mode". All meals are served on plastic plates or polystyrene boxes, with plastic cutlery and drinks in plastic cutlery, so why I should pay €11 for a simple gyros when I serve myself is a moot point.

Unfortunately bad experience
Extremely unfriendly reception. With an overpriced bill (over 52 € daily rate for 2 people) we wanted to cancel and only stay one night. Then we suddenly only had to pay €41 (also overpriced). When we asked about the price difference, which we couldn't understand, one of the ladies at reception became... louder, more aggressive and raised her index finger: "Now listen to me. We've just had a festival here (hardly conceivable in Corona times) and we're having problems with the IT." If this hadn't come out due to the cancellation, we would have paid €70 more/too much at the end of the week. They also charged a €3 corona flat rate per person per night because they had to clean the sanitary facilities twice a day. We haven't experienced this on any other campsite, although they cleaned and disinfected at least as much, sometimes even more. (And we have been to several campsites in the last 4 weeks).
About the pitch itself: None of the tourist pitches have a view of the lake. The pitches have a steep gradient, so you have to balance a lot. You also have to be a good walker, as you have to climb stairs all the time to reach a sanitary building, for example. The lido is chargeable for campers. The supply of food - except for bread rolls in the morning - is zero. There are vending machines, but half of them were broken and you couldn't even get a decent drink. In addition, the prices at the vending machines were completely exorbitant.
