The site is simply beautiful, it has matured for 50 years with lots of old trees and bushes providing shade. You can stand at different heights and always have a sea view at the top. We always received a friendly welcome when we were there. The whole team was always very helpful. Too many dogs on the pitch and on the beach. Dog poo on the path to the beach.What's wrong with this placeWe have been coming back to this campsite for more than 40 years now. In recent years, booking inquiries have been answered hesitantly, i.e. only after 2-4 months. I still have no answer to my last booking request from Dec. 2023 by email. That's a shame and I have no idea what's going on. I believe that I am certainly not the only one who is dependent on timely planning. The path to the beach stank of dog pee, piles of excrement everywhere in the dunes. The beach is supposed to be off-limits to dogs, but nobody cares about all the dirt from all the dogs. The reception was very friendly and although I had not made a reservation (strongly recommended in the NS), I got a very nice place, partly with sea view (over the hedge).
If you had any questions you could always ask the staff and... they were very friendly and helpful. The operator himself is always very concerned about the well-being of the guests. Since he speaks German, there are many German vacationers on the site.
You can buy fresh baked goods and a few selected groceries in the small store in the morning.
The sanitary facilities were very clean and never sandy despite being close to the beach.

The site is laid out in terraces and from many pitches you have a beautiful view of the Atlantic. The campsite staff were very friendly and helpful. The sanitary facilities were clean and well maintained. The beach is right next to the campsite. Some pitches require... long power cables as the connection boxes are a long way away. Depending on the location, the view of the sea is simply phenomenal and one of the most beautiful things nature has ever offered me. Although we had a lot of rain and storms during our stay, I wouldn't have missed a minute. With heavy vehicles >3.5T... the ground becomes difficult in damp conditions. Some of the pitches have a wonderful view of the Atlantic. Our pitch was right next to the playground, which was great for the little ones to use during the day (great play equipment), but was probably used quite loudly by the teenagers... in the evening due to a lack of alternatives, so that it was almost impossible for the little ones to sleep until 10:30pm. Des Abers is in such a spectacular location, has such inspiring sunsets, such friendly and welcoming staff, if Brittany's climate were a little more stable, Des Abers really would be paradise.
