- Ramteid R.July 2024Pozitiva- friendly reception with short waiting times - Clean and modern sanitary building - various bread stations on the pitch - from a stay of 10 days, the cost of the ferry is deducted from the final bill (one way)Negativa- narrow beaches - Dog owners who do not stick to the marked beaches - "Reservations" with a towel on the beach (!)Great location near the city of CRESAll in all a nice campsite. The quality of the restaurants on the campsite was not so good. Unfortunately, there are always undisciplined dog owners who don't stick to the designated bathing areas.
All in all a nice vacation. However, it didn't grab us enough to make us come back.
The general rule for Croatia is: more and more people, more and more buildingsAutomaticky přeloženo. - Marco S.July 2024PozitivaThe beach is really beautiful with its small pebbles, but it is also very crowded at peak times. Basically, we like the whole campsite very much. The wash houses are in good condition and are cleaned sufficiently.NegativaUnfortunately, there are some pitches where the ground is a cheek. Pure rock, decorated with small stones (466 yellow). The reception staff just shrug their shoulders. Electricity and water are also not easily accessible. You have to have 25-30 meters of cable. In our case, we had to run both the power cable and the water hose over a busy footpath that leads to the beach.Summer 24 / 23.07-02.08.24All in all, it's a really great place, but as mentioned above, there is still some catching up to do on some pitches.Automaticky přeloženo.

During our 2 week stay we were delighted every day with a freshly stinking dog turd on our pitch. Unfortunately we could not find the dog owner. It is not the dogs but the owners who do not follow the house rules who are the pigs.
Furthermore,... the free-roaming dogs and their loud barking are an imposition for other camping guests who want to have their peace and quiet.
All the campsite rules are useless if there are no consequences for the owners. I hope the campsite management wakes up soon and does something about it.
It's a real shame for this beautiful campsite.Automaticky přeloženo. - Benjamin H.June 2024PozitivaCheck-in is well organized and the pitch map is very clearly laid out. The pitches are clearly marked with signs. There are lots of trees (olives, pines and orleander hedges), so there is plenty of shade. The surface of the pitches is gravel of varying sizes. Access to the beach is directly at the campsite and is easily accessible from several sides (also for people with walking disabilities). There is a designated dog beach, a textile beach and a nudist area. There is a footpath between the sunbathing area on the beach and the water, which is also used by cyclists. The supermarket stocks all everyday items and even camping articles. Bread and rolls are available all day. Plodine (supermarket) is in Cres, five minutes from the campsite. There is a fish stall and several small stores selling fruit, vegetables and bathing articles. There are many excursions by boat, car and bicycle from the campsite. For all leisure captains without a boat license, you can rent a 5hp rubber dinghy and use it to reach secluded bays. The staff at the campsite are very friendly. Cres can be reached on foot, by cab boat or by camping train. There are restaurants right on the beach. Insider tip: Café directly on the beach, with a few seats. Arriving early ensures good places to enjoy the early morning peace and quiet. Diving center is located directly on the campsite. Conclusion: good value for moneyNegativaWash housesFamily vacation 2024Renovation of the wash houses should be considered.

- Carmen B.October 2023PozitivaWaterfront location, exceptionally well-kept, park-like campsite, very good value for money, close to the town of CresNegativaNonePleasantly surprisedWe don't like large campsites - but there weren't many pitches on offer at the time and we were more than pleasantly surprised. A friendly welcome. We were allowed to choose our pitch without a reservation. Despite the low season, almost all the sanitary blocks were open and very clean and all the facilities... were in use (washing machine/dryer in operation and well maintained, private bathrooms for rent at a reasonable price, many bakeries on the campsite, supermarket still open as well as restaurant and pizzeria). Very clean waste stations and all dog waste bins regularly emptied and filled with bags (not a matter of course!). The long, fine pebble beach is a dream - plenty of space in the low season and well maintained. Working showers everywhere on the beach. We were most impressed by the well-kept condition of the pitches and communal areas - not a single piece of garbage anywhere, trees and hedges looked after like in a park. We found the naturist area the most beautiful - very bright, well-kept and quiet with some fantastic views. The beautiful walk along the promenade to the enchanting little town of Cres should also not go unmentioned. Bicycle paths as well as walking and hiking trails are also possible from the campsite. Overall, we really enjoyed the atmosphere on the campsite and can recommend it without reservation for the early and late season - however, we would never want to be here in high summer due to the size and the associated large number of camping guests!
We then moved on to Istria to a Valamar campsite (another huge campsite🙈...) and have to say that the price-performance ratio of Camping Kovacine to this "camping chain" seems unbeatable to us!
So from us to the operators of CP Kovacine - thank you very much for the time we spent there and please "keep it up!"Automaticky přeloženo. - Boris T.October 2023PozitivaVery friendly staff Plots sufficiently large Very clean and well lit Good sanitary facilitiesNegativaSome access routes very steep and quite narrow depending on the size of the camper van. Bathing area not suitable for non-swimmersSuper pleasantA super great and clean pitch. We were on a premium pitch, the only thing we could have done was put a tent one terrace down. Thanks to the end of the season, there wasn't much going on, so it was very quiet.
The sanitary blocks, including washing up and chemical disposal, are very clean. All paths are... well lit. The town of Cres is between 20 and 35 minutes' walk along the water (depending on the pitch). A supermarket (Plodine) can be reached very quickly.
The whole island is beautiful and hides some hidden heavenly places that want to be found.
The central road will take you to any place on the island in an hour, as long as you don't drive on the gravel roads :)
However, being overtaken is extremely adventurous by our standards. Also, always watch out for the sheep/goats that suddenly appear on the road.
An island and a campsite that we can only recommend.Automaticky přeloženo. - Edwin H.September 2023PozitivaThe proximity to the town of Cres with its many coffee bars and restaurants.NegativaNothing comes to mind.Come againVery friendly reception. Very large site. Plots in the 1st row small, others larger. Long, beautiful pebble beach. 2 dog beaches. Promenade along the sea to nearby Cres, plus mini-train and boat cab. Sanitary facilities very nice and well maintained. Good restaurant with "standard" food and very friendly service. Pizzeria on site not so great. - Hilde ,Georg und Toby 🐾🐾 J.May 2023PozitivaLocation, nice friendly staff, clean place.....NegativaWhat we didn't like was that some dog owners don't think they have to keep their dogs on a lead, even though it's written in the site rules. We also have a dog and always kept him on a lead, even at the pitch.Beautiful campsite by the seaIt was our first time at Camp Kovacine and we liked it very much. Friendly, helpful staff, clean, well-kept facilities, very clean sanitary buildings, great beach and water. Shady, sunny pitches, something for everyone.
Gastronomy, small supermarket, small stalls eg: fruit, fish, bakery, beach accessories... can be found. The small town of Cres can be reached on foot in half an hour, there is also a funicular and a water cab. You could write so much more, our conclusion ... great beautiful well-kept place, we like to come backAutomaticky přeloženo. - Uwe M.September 2022PozitivaQuiet location of the campsite near the town of Cres Great sanitary facilities in the green area (naturist) Very nice terrace pitches with lots or little sun Good WLAN network Very nice beach Scenic jewelNegativaDogs are welcome, but the dog beaches are too small. As a result, many dog owners ignore the signs to the detriment of beach visitors on the "dog-free" sections of beach. Conflicts are inevitable! Many textile wearers on the nudist beach.Great campThis year was our third time at the camp. We have already pre-booked for the fourth time (for the first time). That speaks for the camp! We deliberately choose the early or late season, because then it's not quite so crowded on the island. We were dependent on school vacations for long enough.
We love... this place, especially the green nudist area. Very good sanitary facilities, great terrace pitches with lots or little sun.
Unfortunately, there are always dog owners who bring untrained, mostly small barkers, often up to 3 or 4 dogs. This means that the designated dog beach areas quickly become too small. The number of dogs should therefore be limited to a maximum of 2 per pitch. The pitches should also be divided into "dogs" and "no dogs". This has long proven its worth on other campsites, including in Germany. And the fees per dog should also be charged in the early and late season. We have had guests with 6 (six) dogs, and they don't cost anything. Nothing against dogs per se, we have experience with four-legged friends ourselves. It is always the owners who disregard the house rules and have no idea how to train their pets.
We would like to give 5 stars, but we deduct one because of too many dogs.Automaticky přeloženo. - Christian G.August 2022Pozitivadirectly on the beach, many restaurants, large supermarket, within walking distance of the promenade to Cres town, pool, funicular or water cab to CresNegativaPool area a bit smallGreat campsite, certainly againThe Kovacine campsite is located right by the sea and has a fairly large supermarket, several restaurants and (snack) bars. Our pitch was right on the beach, but the pitch was a bit awkwardly shaped for our motorhome. The pool area with pool bar is nice but a bit small in high season. Cres town with... lots of shops and restaurants can be reached either on foot along the beautiful promenade, by funicular or water cab. The restaurants on site or right next to the site were excellent. The supermarket right next to the campsite is quite large and well-stocked. There are also several bakery stalls around the campsite, which provide an excellent breakfast. You can also book various boat trips directly at the campsite. There is also a SUP and kayak rental right on the beach. The beach is quite narrow and quite crowded in high season. The wash houses need to be renovated, but it was always clean. There is a shaded children's playground for the little ones and also a children's club with entertainment. However, my children were already too big for this.
We really enjoyed the campsite and will definitely be back.Automaticky přeloženo. - Klaus B.July 2022PozitivaBeautiful beach, clean water, great exchange school, nice restaurants in Cres, clean sanitary facilitiesNegativaVery large, parking space close to the beach is an advantageSuper placeMy wife and I (both 65 years old) found the place totally great. We already wanted to cancel the reservation for this place due to some reviews (see Z. BP. review Harald S. 8/2019). But we are very happy that we went on vacation here. We had a super shady pitch about 200 meters from the beach. Based... on the above rating, we were very curious to see if we would get a nice spot on the beach. No problem at all. Quite the opposite. We always got "our" spot in a small bay between two olive trees (shade) without any problems, whether we were on the beach at 9.30 or 11.00 am. There were always free places on the beach everywhere.
The entertainment at our time was short in the evening for the children and not intrusive.
There was no sign of the threatened barking dogs.
The way to Cres was easy to manage on foot or by bike. There are nice restaurants with good food in Cres. There are also places just to drink wine/beer and linger. The food in the restaurants at the campsite isn't great but it's okay.
All in all, we had a very nice, relaxing vacation.
The only downside is the journey. From the border there are many country roads with many towns.
PS: The local diving school is great. I refreshed my diving license there and had some nice dives.
Will definitely be back.Automaticky přeloženo. - Martin W.August 2021PozitivaClose to the city, great olive groveNegativaBilling, too big for usHighly recommendedA huge but clean place. Many places always reserved for a long time. Narrow beach especially in Corona times. Unfortunately, there were a few "misunderstandings" in the billing (prices in the brochure and on the bill did not quite match, especially when changing seasons).
change of seasons) to our disadvantage.
It said place with water, but the column was for 6 places and you always had to go through the others disturbing.Automaticky přeloženo. - Ines R.August 2020PozitivaSanitary facilities super clean all day, proximity to the city by bike or on foot top, with the boat it couldn't be betterNegativaBad for cyclingKovacine again at any timeRepeat offender, the best CP, has everything to offer what you need on vacation, places big enough, clean, distance to the city ideal, with boat great to go to a secluded bay or to paddle - always happy againAutomaticky přeloženo.
- Inge G.July 2020PozitivaThe sea and beachNegativaPitch search, inflexibility, sanitary facilitiesVery disappointingWe were only passing through the campsite for 2 nights.
The reservation system seemed very illogical to us. Before we could check in, we had to walk across the campsite at over 30 degrees in the shade to choose a free pitch and then run back up with the number to be able to check in. There was a reservation... sign on the pitches with stickers for the reserved times. So you look for free slots.....something we've never experienced before. This has a very negative effect on the campsite right from the start. The pitches are not exactly large, but they are sufficient. And unfortunately the staff are also stressed and overwhelmed. The island is tied to ferry times and it is not possible to offer 24/7 check-out (at least in the high season)? Even the cleaning staff don't say good morning. The showers in sanitary building 4 were completely blocked, the standard is not the latest but okay.
There is no sun protection at the pool above, except for the umbrellas at the pool bar.
In times of Corona as well as in normal times, you should make an effort for every vacationer...with friendliness and the feeling of being welcome, you already have half the battle.
We know where we won't be going again. A great pity, actuallyAutomaticky přeloženo.
