That the chemical + gray water sink is outside the campsite and you have to go to the reception for water to flush.Beautifully designed squareWe were there with our caravan at the beginning of October. The site is divided roughly in half for mobile homes and pitches. It is attractively designed with elements made of driftwood (les bois flottés). There are no trees to provide shade, but each pitch has a thatched roof on metal stands. We found... it rather in the way as there was no room for the car, awning and caravan. In midsummer, however, the shade is certainly very useful.
The small store in reception only offers the most necessary drinks. The stores in the village were closed at the beginning of October except for a greengrocer.
The sanitary facilities were clean and still quite new in a simple stand construction, open at the top and bottom with slamming doors. Toilet paper was usually available, as was soap. There were no toilet seats, but the toilets had innovative bowls with wide seat edges. I've never seen them like this anywhere else.
The service at reception and in the restaurant was friendly. The restaurant was beautifully decorated inside and out. The food was also very good. You can order bread rolls and croissants in advance.
The campsite is in the middle of the Camargue countryside
on the edge of the salt mining area. If you are interested in nature, you can observe flamingos, herons, swans and a variety of other birds.
There is a pool, but we didn't use it. The beach is a good 10 km away.Automaticky přeloženo. - Friedemann B.September 2019PozitivaVery quiet and not overcrowdedNegativaonly 2 small stores in the villageGreat vacation in the south of the CamarqueWe love the Camarque and really wanted to see flamingos. We discovered this campsite - still under construction at the time - on a day trip in 2017 and then stayed there in 2018 and 2019.
A very nice site with new sanitary facilities, a very nice swimming pool and a small restaurant with a bread roll... service, as well as mobile homes to rent.
The pitch was never more than 30% full, only a little more at the weekend, even in the containers.
Of course, a new pitch doesn't yet have any shade, but these are planned for the future.
You can reach the sea via a narrow road 7 km through salt flats or flamingo country. There are also many close to the road.
The beach is INCREDIBLE - huge and not crowded in September. Our two dogs were also able to run around unleashed. There is no service and no toilets, which is probably why it is never that crowded. WoMo could stay overnight on the beach!
The village has a bakery and a small grocery store. So we had to bunker down or drive about 40km. But that was possible anyway, because the sights were within this distance.
(Aigues Mortes, St.Marie dela Mer, Arles, and the southern Provence with Les Alpilles....)
There are 3 small restaurants in the village, the one on the square is already very good with a great terrace overlooking the salt pans and horse meadows - in the evening of course with some mosquitoes.........
The only point of criticism is the emptying of the sanitary container, which has to be paid extra - even for
tenants on the pitch.
Last but not least - very nice, always helpful, competent staff - price compared to St. Remie at 60% - camper heart what more could you want!
We'll be back after Corona!Automaticky přeloženo.
