- Stephan J.květen 2024PozitivaSufficient space thanks to sparse occupancy, little activity in the sanitary buildings. Nearby lake certainly inviting in better weather. Snack stand on the pitch, offer a matter of taste. One visit was enough for us.NegativaPayment for the entire period is required on arrival. If you leave a day early for personal reasons, as we did, you won't get a refund. It doesn't get any more unaccommodating than that! The sanitary building is modern, but 3 out of 4 showers (m/f) only have a curtain instead of a door and no anteroom for depositing clothes, towels etc. Poor youth hostel standard. Poor youth hostel standard. Access only with personal check card. Couples only get one card. Second card only for an additional deposit. The entrance/access area currently looks more like a building site.Never again.Basically a beautifully situated campsite with pitches on a slope, close to a public bathing lake. For whatever reason, little frequented.
For us, the disadvantages were mainly: advance payment required, no money back if you leave earlier than planned. The sanitary building is modern and clean, but the shower facilities are underground. That's why we wouldn't go to this campsite again.Automaticky přeloženo. - Jana B.květen 2023PozitivaVery quiet location, directly on the lake. New sanitary facilities, very clean. Beer garden and bread roll service. Everyone very friendly! Great hiking opportunities in the Höllental.NegativaNo disadvantagesGladly again! We spontaneously looked for a campsite nearby over Whitsun 2023.
The lake has a small children's area, volleyball court, sunbathing lawns, jetty and lifeguards.
There is a nice beer garden at the campsite.
The site is very quiet.
The sanitary facilities have been renovated and were always clean.
We received a very friendly welcome and will be back!Automaticky přeloženo. - Christian L.květen 2023PozitivaGreat location to Bad Steben Therme very quiet and relaxing cozy campsite on the lakeNegativaWe had nothing to complain about, especially since the operators are still investing (new sanitary facilities) and beautifying the facilityBeautifully situated campsiteWe had a lovely stay over Ascension Day and our grandson enjoyed it too 😜✌️Automaticky přeloženo.

- Hubert H.říjen 2014PozitivaPeace and quiet, not overcrowded in the off-season, very reasonably priced.NegativaNo shopping facilities for bread rolls etc. on site.A quiet campsite in beautiful natural surroundingsAt the beginning of October 2014 we were with the caravan on this campsite, you can choose your pitch freely and still have free space around the WW (which we appreciate very much). The reception is only manned in the morning from 8-9am. We liked it very much and will be back.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Steffen F.duben 2014PozitivaInexpensiveThe campsite is in a very nice location. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the right place for you, the sanitary facilities could be renovated, but the price-performance ratio is definitely right. There is plenty of hot water coming out of the wall when showering and the sanitary facilities... are well heated. What I didn't like so much was the presence of the groundsman. Unfortunately, he is only there from 8-9am. Gas bottles can also be exchanged. A campsite where you can still have an inexpensive vacation. A hike through the Höllental valley is highly recommended. Have a look here in the Friedrich Wilhelm Stollen restaurant.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Dieter B.březen 2013We were guests at the campsite twice while passing through and were very satisfied. Although there was snow, the pitch was cleared and was easy to drive on. I can recommend the site to anyone. We will definitely come back and stay longer. Dieter BreitenfeldAutomaticky přeloženo.
- Oliver K.říjen 2010As described in the DCC camping guide, you should take exit no. 31. Other exits, e.g. indicated by the navigation system, lead you through the winding, narrow and steep roads (some with gradients of up to 12%) of the Höllental valley. A little off the beaten track, next to a currently unused leisure... center and directly above a beautiful bathing lake with direct access from the campsite, this can be reached with a bathing island and jetty. (Free entry) The campsite belongs to the municipality and does not seem to be very popular with them. It is in urgent need of renovation and is not even signposted in the village. There is no manager. The sanitary facilities are quite old and despite a supposedly daily cleaning company (I never saw anyone, although the cleaning list was always filled out) not always clean. We were surprised that paper towels, soap dispensers and toilet paper were provided and always replenished. The washrooms are also well heated in the cold low season. Hot water is also free in the showers! As a year-round site in the DCC, there is something very curious: in the low season, the reception is only staffed from 8.00 - 9.00 am. If you arrive in the evening, for example, you have to look for an already checked-in CP guest (permanent camper) who will open the entrance with his barrier card. Otherwise you will stand in front of the barrier. During the rest of the year there are "extended" opening hours from 14:00 - 15:00. There is no infrastructure on the site itself. You will look in vain for a store or kiosk as well as the daily bread roll / newspaper service (bakery in Lichtenberg, 2 km away). Grocery shopping in Naila, 6 km away. There is nothing for children except a completely outdated playground. The place is strongly characterized by permanent campers. However, the location is great. Very quiet, with a beautiful view of the hilly surroundings of the Franconian Forest. Great hiking trails such as the Höllental or the path to Hirschsprung are unique. There is not much in the village itself. 2 -3 restaurants, a bakery, that's it. There is even a good brewery for all beer connoisseurs in the small village. Sonnenbräu Lichtenberg. Delicious! If you're looking for camping in its origins, love a site close to nature, don't need any infrastructure and can overlook the disadvantages of the sanitary facilities and reception times, you'll find a campsite here where you can stay overnight with two adults and one child including a pitch for just under €15. The question remains as to why the campsite has been awarded 3 stars in the DCC camping guide?Automaticky přeloženo.
