As soon as the highway under construction goes into operation, the problem will solve itself.Top place in ValaisWe drove past this great place for years. Unfortunately, we now have to say. Last fall we spent 10 unforgettable days on the Santa Monica. That was definitely not our last stay. The range of pitches is perfect, from simple pitches without large plots to fully equipped pitches of over 100 m2 with electricity,... fresh water and waste water connections. The reception is very friendly and I can also highly recommend the small restaurant in the entrance area. Pizza lovers should definitely order the Säumer Pizza. Game specialties are always available in autumn. Fair prices by Swiss standards. The sanitary facilities can be found in various buildings scattered around the site. The cleanliness never gave cause for complaint and if it did, campers didn't discover that they could remove their own dirt with the toilet brush provided! We didn't use the swimming pool as we were on the site in the fall. The perfect geographical location allows for many interesting excursions and nearby Visp attracts visitors with its countless excellent shopping opportunities. There is a small store on the campsite itself and the grocery store in the village is within walking distance. Bread and rolls can also be ordered from the store. Raron itself has a small special feature: the village can be reached on foot in just a few minutes. The rock church in Raron is well worth a visit. A visit to this interesting building deep inside the rock is always worthwhile. You will definitely find us again on the Santa Monica!Automaticky přeloženo.

The location is good, you can do a lot from there (preferably by car). The supposedly heated pool is a bit too refreshing even at thirty degrees and often very crowded anyway. There isn't really a store, just a few expensive... "survival items". However, there is a Volg in the village and you can order bread rolls. The WLAN is terrible, unusable! The worst thing was that we booked a 4* pitch because we preferred 100 m2 instead of 70 m2. We were given pitch D30, which is difficult to reach with a caravan due to the narrow access road and is only about 50 m2. You're right up against the neighbors! But there are also larger pitches if you're lucky.
The sanitary building is old, but is kept clean. Most of the washing-up areas are outside. The playground with trampoline is very popular with the children, the stream is rather less frequented and comfortably quiet, with shady spots. At 10 pm on the dot, a "Securitas" man ensures a quiet night. The sanitary facilities should be renewed.BeautifulWe stayed at the campsite for a few days. Really a great place. Children have lots of opportunities to play. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The playground in the forest is unfortunately already old and, according to a guest, has been replaced by the new ones in the middle of the campsite.... I think it would be nice if they would make it new again in the forest. Maybe create a barbecue area nearby - that would be great! We would then certainly only play and barbecue there. From the place you can make beautiful hiking or cycling tours. We will definitely be back - a dream of a campsite that you really have to visit.Automaticky přeloženo.

Clean sanitary facilities, good restaurant. The train station is just a few minutes away. Just a few steps from one of the two cable car stations to Eisscholl or Unterbäch. Starting point for easy to more challenging hikes. You can cycle along... the Rotte (Rhone) either down towards Gampel, Susten or up towards Visp. Ideal starting point for many destinations in the Upper Valais such as SaasFee, Grächen Zermatt. Or to the Simplon, the Aletsch region or Goms. Or to the Lötschental. Train station & cable cars within walking distance.NegativaStony ground Quiet pitches only on the uphill sideA very satisfying place all round!I've been to the site twice with a tent, most recently in 2017, both times with several children. I have very fond memories of both stays. The central location allows many excursions throughout the region, the nearby train station and the cable cars are particularly positive, so we were often able to... leave the car behind. The facilities are not lacking, but are not at the top level of some glamping destinations.
The only small drawback for campers: some pitches are quite stony, even under a supposedly green surface, so you should have the right pegs with you.

For us, the site has almost everything a good campsite should have. Clean, if not new, sanitary facilities. Large pitches with electricity and water connections. Friendly staff, especially in the store. The entertainment was... mainly in Dutch. Not surprising as most of the guests came from Holland. The store has everything you need. Very clean sanitary facilities, what could be improved would be disinfectant dispensers in the toilets. Nice friendly staff and groundskeeper. Good catering options in the restaurant. We also think the price-performance... ratio is great. 2 person caravan incl. electricity and hot water showers 1 week CHF 160.-- absolutely top! Swimming pool with sunbathing lawn and much more.
