A very nice campsite. Very clean and the staff exemplary and always friendly. We have been on vacation with the motorhome for over 40 years, but this is the first campsite where disposing of the chemical toilet costs something and you can't believe your eyes, it costs... € 13.50 once !!!!
That's a rip-off on a grand scale. It's easy to do the math with 15-20 liters per disposer, so the municipality would have to charge €675 for 1 m³?
This could lead to one or two "fillings" ending up where they are certainly not supposed to. Actually, this should be free of charge for everyone (including those passing through) --- hundreds of municipalities are showing how it's done. (We're talking about a "national park" here - the management should think about that).
The next hammer came just around the corner when I used this disposal point. Everything was newly tiled and the sink was a normal toilet at a nonsensical height.... Here the "site manager" has never heard of hygiene and design standards, there are special sinks exactly for this purpose, even a sink that you can wash your hands as well as a floor drain and a hose to spray out are completely missing (this design alone is already a cheek).
Yes, camping (Womo) has increased incredibly, but this is the wrong way to protect nature, actually you (national park, forestry company) should convince the vacationers (who also consume something) to behave properly and not alienate them with such a disposal rip-off.Automaticky přeloženo. - Dirk A.August 2022PozitivaBeautiful locationNegativaWay too crowded. Crammed in. Every square meter is filled with tents. Plumbing is below standard. Far too few for the high occupancy. The chance of getting burned in the shower is high, not adjustable. Camping has nothing, but totally nothing to do with a nature campsite.TerribleCampground should set a limit on the amount of guests to be received. Organize only with reservations.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Marc d.October 2021PozitivaThe beautiful surroundingsNegativaThe weather ;)Everything simply fits here.It was actually still summer, but the weather agreed with the forecast and the weekend was cool and rainy. Nevertheless, we came to the Gesäuse and the Forstgarten near Johnsbach for a day of hiking and were not disappointed.
From the warm welcome to the catering. Everything is just right here.
Although... the campsite is small, it is in a quiet, central location and the surroundings and the panoramic mountain backdrop are of course beautiful.
The sanitary facilities are always spotlessly clean, the communal area is cozy, the people are relaxed and there are fresh pastries for breakfast.
The River Enns flows almost right next to the campsite, and if it were a little warmer, I would love to take a dip in the water.
But I'll leave that for today, because we'll be back and it's sure to work out. After all, we've found a little piece of the mountains to feel good here.Automaticky přeloženo. - Joke L.September 2021PozitivaThe tranquility, no number signs at the sites, freedom, kitchen (with inventory) and refrigerator available for guests with a (small) tent. Drinking water from the mountains. Beauty nature and mountains. Small scale. Friendliness of staff.NegativaNothing.Cozy, atmospheric and beautiful nature.Really had a wonderful week in beautiful surroundings and friendly, quiet atmosphere.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Jörn L.May 2021PozitivaLocation, peace, friendliness, natureNegativaSanitary simple but functionalPure natureThe campsite has a large central meadow and smaller meadow terraces. Some areas are reserved for tents only. The site is surrounded by tall trees, forests and a fantastic mountain panorama.
An ideal place for those seeking peace and quiet, hikers and white water rafters. The reception is very friendly....
The sanitary facilities consist of sanitary containers integrated into a wooden hut. The space is quite limited and the facilities are basic, but the showers are clean and warm.Automaticky přeloženo. - Wolfgang S.August 2018PozitivaIn the middle of the Gesäuse National Park. Probably one of the most natural places I know.Negativanone for us; if you need it classy, you are wrong there; there are no shopping facilities within walking distanceNeter small and simple place. No glamping, just camping. The site is manageable. There is an area for caravans and motorhomes as well as an area with a meadow for tents. The showers were clean, but were getting on in years. The disposal facilities for caravans/motorhomes are apparently to be changed. The site is located directly in the Gesäuse, surrounded... by mountains. Excellent for hiking. We also visited Admont Abbey, which is nearby. There was also an open-air light show in the Weidendom - a facility in the national park. There is a large fireplace at the campsite where you can get together in the evening. The reception is not always manned, but there is an emergency number. I can't say anything about the camp/rental accommodation as we didn't use it.Automaticky přeloženo.
