- Heike K.September 2024PozitivaGreat lake, beautiful locationNegativaLots of noise until midnightGreat lakeThe campsite is located on the beautiful Lake Mergozzo. The pitches are large and shady thanks to the many trees.
The large sweepers drive over the entire site every day and clean the paths.
Waste is properly separated here, but not by all the vacationers. They use the garbage cans for dog waste because... they are too lazy to walk 20 meters to the garbage cans.
Due to the many families with children, it is correspondingly loud. One wonders why they are awake in the evening until after 11 pm.
The beach is very busy during the day. It's great for swimming late in the evening or in the morning.
Sun loungers are available. You have to be quick.
The sanitary facilities are good. The water is not always hot. The showers were only hot when the campsite slowly emptied a little.
Broken toilet flushes are not repaired. They probably wait until the season is over.
The sanitary facilities are cleaned regularly.
The supermarket is expensive.
You can only pay with a loaded card.
The sports facilities with endurance and strength training equipment are good. Can be used in the mornings except Tuesdays.
Pilates and gymnastics are offered in the mornings. Too excessive in my opinion. You only go there once because it wasn't fun.
Absolutely suitable for families with children.
Only suitable for couples without children in the low season.
Two table tennis tables are a bit small.
Billiards and table football are chargeable.
The volleyball court is asphalted and filled with sand. As it had rained heavily, the water stood on the court and did not run off after 2 days. Too bad, we would have liked to play volleyball.
Overall, thanks off-season a relaxing vacation.Automaticky přeloženo. - Einar D.June 2023PozitivaBeautiful and clean sanitary facilitiesNegativaLots of hustle and bustleNice place for families with small childrenLarger campsite that is fully organized. There are enough sanitary facilities, they are very clean and in good condition. Pitches ok. Lots of families with small children - everything is provided for them. We as a couple looking to relax were not in the right place thereAutomaticky přeloženo.

- Patrick F.August 2020PozitivaFamily-friendly, shallow water, well-equipped store, shady large pitches,NegativaRelatively noisy from 7 am due to the many children. Sanitary facilities directly on the beach very sandy/dirtyBeautiful family campsiteIdeal for families with young and older children. Very shallow water for the first 50m. But also lots of action for older children. You can hire pedal boats and SUPs. From this year there will be a large inflatable action island with slides...Automaticky přeloženo.
- Rene J.September 2019PozitivaLocation, sanitary facilities, restaurant, lake, cateringNegativaNoise without endGreat place, but...We agree with most of the previous writers. Great place, good restaurant, very nice lake, clean sanitary facilities, great for kids, friendly staff, etc. But here it comes!!! Definitely not for campers looking for some peace and quiet!!! There is a lot of noise all around from children (somehow understandable)... and screaming parents (completely incomprehensible - you are not alone here but in a community!!!!!!!). But the Italian campers are the worst! Some of them turn up on Friday evening at 9.30pm (with small children), then find their compatriots at very short notice, logically sit down together and make a noise that no hearing protection can counteract!!!! The kids then romp over the pavement with wooden or plastic scooters, which goes through your bones!!! This has nothing to do with camping!!!! It's more like a funfair or even terror!!! For us, this actually beautiful place will never be considered again!!!!! What a shame, the site doesn't deserve that!Automaticky přeloženo.
- Carsten W.August 2019Pozitiva- Great location - Good infrastructure - Price performance is OK - you don't need cash - almost all places nicely shadedNegativa- Pitches too small - Beach always overcrowded - W-Lan mega slow - no SAT reception on 90% of the pitches (but this is also an advantage)Here 1 star is missingThe campsite offers a lot for families with children. The children's entertainment is divided into 3 age groups and takes place twice a day. Swimming caps are compulsory at the swimming pool, but there is the fantastic LagoMergozzo. However, you have to be trained to slalom to the beach, as the guests... lie almost like sardines. We always stayed on the far left (near the golf course) where there is grass and it is much quieter. The sanitary facilities were cleaned regularly, but I always found a brown-smeared toilet bowl in the 10 days. However, this is due to the guests. 60% of the guests are Dutch and 30% are German. The pitches are quite cramped and small. We had to enter from the main road with the mover, as we would not have been able to do this by car without causing damage to the caravan. We paid everywhere on site with a plastic card that you can top up with cash at various machines. Unfortunately, this means that you can no longer tip. This is somewhat reflected in the service. We went to the restaurant once and then never again. Every kebab shop in Germany makes a better pizza. It's better to go to Mergozzo or take the train for 5 euros there and back. Ristorante Pizzeria Vecchio Olmo has the best pizza. It's always best to book in advance +39 323 80335. There is also free Wi-Fi, but any "E" connection in Germany is faster. The mini-market has everything a camper's heart needs and the information desk opposite provides information about activities in the area. If you want fresh, good and cheap fish, go to the Mega-Coop in the Centro Commerciale in Gravellona. Just go from the square to the main road and then turn right and keep going straight for 5-6 km under the highway and then you will see it on the left. No satellite reception possible on over 90% of the pitches because of the trees. This means that almost all pitches are in the shade and the pitches don't heat up as much.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Sandra K.August 2019PozitivaLocation at Lago mergozo, Lago Maggiore, sanitary facilities,NegativaVery cramped, very loud and totally overcrowdedNarrow and loudWe spent 10 days here in the middle of the high season and will probably not come back in the high season. The site is in a great location, right on Lake Mergozo in the middle of a nature reserve and not far from Lake Maggiore. Lago mergozo is a super clear lake, in the background you can see the snow-capped... mountains and you can have a great swim down below. Lake Maggiore is also absolutely fantastic. We had our boat here for 6 days and made the small islands unsafe. We went tubing and snorkeling every day. But back to the campsite: the sanitary facilities are sufficient and were also clean (the wash house directly on the lake was fine due to its use). There was plenty of entertainment and leisure activities on offer and the evening program was also really impressive. However, the pitches are so close together and without a boundary, for example, that you can really hear your neighbor's fart! There is no place here for those looking for relaxation or butt-lovers. At the time we were there, 99% of the guests were Dutch, repeat offenders and often in groups. Not that I had a problem with Dutch people, but as Germans we weren't even greeted, instead a washing line was strung across our plot. As a repeat offender you probably have more rights than we do as 'first offenders'. Also the animation etc. Is only geared towards the Dutch enclave. The whole place is mega crowded and loud. We didn't feel comfortable here, but we were able to go on nice excursions etc. and escape the noise. We were able to escape the noise. So if you need noise all day and all night and want to spend your vacation close together with 'non-greeting Dutch people in large groups without limits, this is the right place for you !!!! Even the small access to the lake was so crowded that our child said on the first day 'Mom, what's the best way to get to the water' because of all the towels and people 😂 But to each his own. We've realized that we prefer smaller, family campsites where there's at least a bit of space between the caravans.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Patrick R.June 2019Pozitiva-Clean sanitary facilities -Maintained beach and lake -Clean pitches -Children and dogs are welcomeNegativa-Cold water at the dishwashing sinks! -Arrival until 11 pm, therefore noisy due to late arrival and tent set-up...Family-friendly campsiteFamily-friendly campsite. Pitches clean and well laid out. Large sanitary facilities with extra children's bathrooms. Clean sanitary facilities. Playground, children's entertainment, tennis court, soccer pitch, golf course etc. Lake with beach ideal for children. Some staff speak German. Pizzeria and bar with ice cream on site. Except at the new sanitary building there is only cold water for washing dishes!Automaticky přeloženo.
- Ulli D.June 2018PozitivaClean, friendly, great lakeNegativaSoap not available in all sanitary buildings. Departure only possible from 8.00 in the morning. The first time and certainly not the lastWe stayed at this site for 10 days after the Whitsun vacation. Very nice place with large and flat pitches. Very quiet in the low season. Sanitary super clean. Staff always friendly and courteous. Well suited for guests with dogs as there is direct access to the beach and a small wood where we didn't... see a single dog turd during our stay. Disadvantage: The gate is closed at 20.00 then you have to go through the main entrance with your four-legged friends where you can go for a good walk along a canal. What we can't understand in a few reviews is the good rating of the pizzas in the restaurant. We got 2 pizzas in the takeaway restaurant on the first evening after we had pitched our awning. This deserves a rating of below average at best. A lovelessly prepared dough flatbread. The food on our last evening in the restaurant was good. All in all a very recommendable placeAutomaticky přeloženo.
- Dörthe R.May 2018PozitivaOff the beaten track Animation for the kidsNegativaVery loud in the evening FullA place for families with children ... :-) - Nothing for those seeking peace and quiet!Over Ascension Day we went to Italy to the Continental campsite on Lake Mergozzo (in the hinterland of Lake Maggiore). Without booking, we still managed to get a nice big pitch in the second row in front of the lake. The big advantage of the campsite is that it is located away from the main road, so... there is no road noise. The small lake is wonderfully clear and is ideal for swimming, stand-up paddling or pedal boating. The children can run quite far in from the sandy beach without the risk of sinking. There is also a small snack bar on the beach, a volleyball court and an extra beach for dogs. The site is very large and very, very nicely laid out. Plane trees provide shade everywhere, there are plenty of water points and electricity is available at every pitch. Caravans alternate with tents and motorhomes, a colorful mix. In terms of the crowd, you can expect to find people from French-speaking Switzerland or the Bernese region, we have seen or heard almost nothing else. Maybe some Dutch people come in the summer? The sanitary facilities are clean and tidy by Italian standards. The water just smells badly of chlorine. There is no drinking water from the tap. The sanitary buildings are open 24 hours a day. The site is very lively, there is a large entertainment program during the day and in the evening (goes on until 11 pm - loudly) and there are lots of children. This site is not suitable for campers looking for peace and quiet, or you can choose a site by the lake, which is a little further away from the entertainment program and therefore quieter in the evening. For bathing fun there is the great, cold, clear lake (mountain lake quality) and the swimming pool, which was only 20 degrees on Ascension Day and was only open from 11am to 6pm. (Photos from the campsite operator showing the busy pool at night are incomprehensible to me, as the pool closes at 6pm ...) A huge playground, an ice cream parlor, a very good pizzeria and a well-stocked supermarket round off the program. You pay everywhere with a prepaid card, which you can top up and just have to show. At the end you pay at reception. Cycling is only possible to a limited extent, you have to cycle along the busy main road to the small village of Mergozzo nearby, and there is no cycle path to Verbania on Lake Maggiore ... There are just as few footpaths. However, there is a small canal next to the campsite with a short walk that is worthwhile, as you can watch pike and lots of free-living turtles ... super exciting for the kids. All in all, okay for a long weekend, but for the vacations this place would be "too much" for me ... If you come from the north, after a long weekend you also have to reckon with mega return traffic via San Bernardino or Gotthard ... We didn't think about that and were stuck for 3 hours on the way back ...Automaticky přeloženo.
- Dirk S.September 2017PozitivaEverything the kids loveNegativaLots of noise from kidsLots of action for the kidsWe were on the site during the BW summer vacation. There were a correspondingly large number of families present. There was a lot on offer for our children: Large playground, pool with water playground and wave pool, lake with beach, soccer pitches, entertainment and children's disco. The downside is... a lot of noise, which young families - like us - don't mind. Without children, however, I would avoid the site. The sanitary facilities were in good condition for the large crowds. Unfortunately, the toilets closest to our pitch were the ones that were also used by beach visitors during the day. It's a shame that there were no urinals here! Other toilet blocks had urinals for men. The restaurant is not to be recommended. The pizzas are an imposition in terms of size and taste. Tip: Il Vivaldi pizzeria is in front of the campsite. The pizzas are good and can also be picked up. There are many excursions you can make by car, e.g. to Macugnaga with a fantastic view of the Monte Rosa massif. The small supermarket on the site is well equipped. The prices are fair. I give the operators credit for that. There is a large supermarket at the highway exit from Gravellona Toce.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Adrian P.September 2017Pozitivalarge Spieli, pitches nice and central, animation with evening program, nice lake access, WLAN works wellNegativaAnimators too wild, bad pizza, ice cream expensive, tourist information not very informative, pool too cold, swimming cap compulsorya nearby destination to soak up the sun again and offer the children something to doCP is ideal for soaking up the sun for the last time of the year without having to drive far. The path along Lake Maggiore is sometimes very narrow (mirrors worn off). The staff at the campsite are friendly. The children didn't have far to go to the play area, the arena or the pool. The pool is unfortunately... far too cold. It is also fenced in and you have to wear a swimming cap. The salvatagio are quite strict here. The CP store offers a lot. The restaurant, or rather the pizzeria, is the worst I have ever come across. You don't have to go there. The lake is nice and warm and ideal for children as they can play in the shallow shore area. The beach is also cleaned and smoothed daily. The campsite is clean, probably also because the landscape gardeners sweep up the leaves on the pitch very early some mornings. Definitely worth a visit again.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Sven T.August 2017PozitivaThe campsite is very suitable for families with children. Dogs are always allowed.NegativaCertain seats must be booked well in advance.6 years and always there! This year was our sixth and seventh time at the Continental Lido and we will probably be camping there for the next few years. The reasons for this are: There's nothing better for children, lots of slides, large pool, great sandy beach and a very gently sloping shore so that the little ones don't drown... straight away. If the children are happy, then the parents are on vacation too. Clean water in the lake, no motorboats, delicious ice cream. The pizza was quite good. The small market has everything you need, the prices are ok, Lidl, Coop and Penny are not too far away. You can walk or cycle to the nature reserve on Lake Maggiore, along the lake directly to Mergozzo or further along the Toce. There are beautiful hiking trails to the mountains and huts in the immediate vicinity (e.g. Rifugio Fantolli) and if you drive 60 km into the mountains, you can enjoy a wonderful walk along mountain lakes at a pleasant temperature when the temperatures in the valley are high. You can take the ferry to Laveno, where there is a market on Tuesdays, and you can take the funicular up Monte Sasso. You can't complain about the noise level at the campsite. A safari park, a summer toboggan run and various cable cars are within easy reach and there are markets every day in various towns. We have been going here every Whitsun since 2012 (this year even again in summer) and have not found anything comparable at other campsites. Most of the time our children were unhappy and the vacation was not as great as it could have been.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Alexandra H.August 2017PozitivaClean and well equippedNegativaLoud, extremely many small children, beach and lake very crowded, no walking paths directly from the campsiteIdeal for small childrenThe pitch is well equipped and very clean. Pitch is level and equipped with supply and waste water. The staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, you can't do anything on foot from the site, as there is no path to the next village and walking along the main road is not necessarily recommended. The... restaurant on site is very much like a fast food restaurant and is uncomfortable. As the lake is very shallow and therefore great for small children, there are lots of families with children at the campsite. The campsite is rather unsuitable for couples looking for peace and quiet.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Armin R.August 2017Pozitivabeautiful surroundingsNegativamuch too loudUnsatisfactoryMuch too loud! - Julia R.July 2017PozitivaLocation directly on the lake. Great friendly campsiteNegativanothing seriousSuper campsite right on the lakeWe, a family with three children 8,5,3 spent our summer vacation here in 2017 - to get a place in the 1st row of the lake, however, we had to reserve a year in advance! Arrival was friendly and uncomplicated. The pitch was found quickly and we parked quickly with the mover... Without a mover, despite... the narrow pitches, it was quite a feat with an 8m-long caravan... The pitch was well shaded with a direct view of the lake, which made for a very relaxing vacation. The children are always in view, even when you are at the caravan, priceless!!! The lake is nice and shallow so the kids could play really well. The toilet block closest to us was actually used by all the people staying on the beach, but it was ALWAYS clean! The snack bar on the beach was perfect for ice cream and a snack in between. Supermarket, ice cream parlor, playground, entertainment all TOP! The beach is definitely too small when the campsite is full, which didn't matter to us as we had enough space in the first row... The swimming pool is also nice, wasn't sooooo important to us but was nice as a change for the kids. The evening mini disco in many languages was also very popular with the children. It was also great that the entertainment was really offered in all languages! We felt very comfortable! A uniformed gentleman with a sparkle enforced the night's rest from 11pm, which we found very positive. Because the 1st row of the sea also has the disadvantage that you get the evening noise from the beach unfiltered, so you are also happy about a night's rest. second disadvantage, as far as the noise is concerned, there was always a big tractor in the morning that completely smoothed the beach. This is completely understandable, after a few days you don't hear it any more and just go back to sleep, but it was a bit annoying for the first few days. If we were to go there again, we would want to be in the first row again, but this time not directly on the main path.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Andreas L.June 2017PozitivaBeach, lake, ice cream parlorNegativaLots of mosquitoes :-(Not far and yet so beautiful! We stayed here with our three boys for 8 nights during the Whitsun vacation. After a few years, we were drawn back to this area and chose this campsite on recommendation. The campsite is the perfect size and everything is there. The children only used the pool once, otherwise they just wanted to go to... the beach and swim in the lake. Both are really great for the children. You can hire pedalos, canoes... on the beach. We booked the maxi pitch and had enough space. You definitely have to try the pizzeria next to the campsite. Reserving a table is an advantage. We can recommend the safari park and the summer toboggan run as excursion destinations. Otherwise, enjoy the lake and the ice cream when the weather is nice.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Fam. N.July 2016PozitivaBeautiful surroundings, friendly staff, clean and adequate sanitary facilities. Well-kept pitch. Night's rest from 23:00.NegativaGrain rolls sold out after 8 a.m., long queues at the supermarket in the morning. You feel right at homeThe campsite is ideal for families with children of all ages. The entertainment team and the rest of the staff make a lot of effort and are friendly and courteous. There is a bar for young people outside the campsite, about 1 km away. There are many hiking trails nearby, but little information about... them at the information stand. We had a spacious pitch by the volleyball court, where a strong wind blows from time to time. There were many Swiss, Italian, Dutch and German vacationers there. You could only pay on the pitch with a chip card/chip band, which you can top up with a machine. We never normally go to the same campsite twice, but this campsite fulfilled our vacation wishes and is closer than many other campsites to the southAutomaticky přeloženo.
