We stayed at the campsite in the summer of 2018 to visit Killarney National Park. We had small children with us and had chosen this campsite because they had a playground. The playground was in miserable condition (screws sticking out) and on our pitch we found several pieces of rusty iron sticking out of the ground. Better not to walk barefoot. The reaction of the groundsman was completely uncommitted. I cannot recommend this campsite.

Good place to explore the Ring of Kerry
We were attracted to the Fossa Caravan Camping Park by the beautiful pictures on its homepage and its central location on the Ring of Kerry. And indeed, the site with its tall trees and large rhododendron bushes was quite visually appealing, especially as we were given a pitch directly in front of the... sanitary facilities. The campsite is actually very conveniently located for driving the Ring of Kerry. Unfortunately, the weather was not kind to us at the beginning of August 2016, so we mainly saw clouds and rain on the Ring of Kerry. (Otherwise it is well worth seeing!) The reception at the campsite was very friendly. The sanitary facilities and showers were functional, but not particularly clean, rather mediocre. The cleanliness of the site was quite good. In general, the site is not recommended if you expect nature and gastronomy. We wanted to go for a walk to the nearby lake, but couldn't get there on foot from the campsite. There were barriers everywhere. There is also no restaurant nearby and you won't even find a supermarket. The site is located directly on a busy main road, but you don't notice much of this at the campsite itself. Conclusion: Highly recommended as a starting point for the Ring of Kerry, but otherwise, despite the beautiful pictures, not to be recommended.
