- Andreas T.June 2023PozitivaClose to town, quiet campsite, good starting point for cycling.NegativaFor me there was noSaverne/ZabernThe Cp is on the edge of town and therefore relatively quiet.
The French campsites close the reception at midday. Here it is possible to register via a QR code and you will be sent a 4-digit code for the barrier. Bread roll service available. Beautiful pitches, but the most beautiful are for the Wowa... caravans. Only a few pitches are level. Small playground for children, a small swimming pool. Clean sanitary facilities. On certain days, itinerant traders come by and offer their wares for sale. The regional delicacies were very good.Automaticky přeloženo.Odpovězeno z Seasonova Camping Les Portes d'Alsace October 14, 2023Wir freuen uns, dass Ihnen der Service mit dem QR-Code gefallen hat.Automaticky přeloženo. - Marita F.July 2020PozitivaThe city of Da gern is very beautiful. Cycling is fun hereNegativaThe pitch was very unkempt. The sanitary facilities are getting on in years.Multiple staysWe have been to this campsite several times.
The excursion destinations are perfect.
Cycling is great fun here.
The shopping facilities are very good. Saverne is a very interesting town.
No German is spoken at reception.
The pitches for WOMO are ok.
The lawn had not been mowed for a long time. Our very large pitch had to be cleaned of dog excrement first.Automaticky přeloženo. - J. M.August 2018Pozitivaquiet, small pool, clean sanitary facilitiesNegativaLanguage barrier,Beautiful, quiet campsiteWe were there for 5 nights, unfortunately the owners don't speak German and only very rudimentary English, but they were very nice. ------ Good, relatively new sanitary facilities, which were mostly very clean.----- Nice parceled out pitches, but we would have preferred a few more hedges. ----- The swimming... pool is relatively small, but was ok. There was a swimming pool disco one evening which was well attended. It would be desirable if the swimming pool rules were better enforced. ---- There is a bread roll service with advance payment, and a small bar was open on several evenings. On another evening, a small market was set up, with wine tasting, tarte flambée trolley, sausage and vegetable stall, which we found very nice. ----- Good places to eat outAutomaticky přeloženo.
- Gaby B.April 2018Pozitivaquiet location, well-kept place, decent pitches, nice operatorsNegativanoneCamping to feel goodWere here at the end of April. The camping site - like apparently all campsites in Alsace - is at the top of the hill. The entrances to the pitches are sometimes a bit narrow, you may have to maneuver quite a bit. Ramps are also necessary on most of the pitches, otherwise you'll be standing on a sloping... surface. It is about 2 km to the town and the canal. The cycle path along the canal is well developed. It is worth cycling as far as the Saint-Louis/Arzviller boat lift. There is also a cycle path along the old disused section of the canal that should not be missed. The cycle path in the other direction is also well developed. It's also great that you can quickly reach the circular hiking trail to the Haut-Barr castle ruins from the campsite. There is also a riding stables next to the campsite. The reception was very friendly and the sanitary facilities were clean. The showers had plenty of hot water (no choice of temperature). There is toilet paper and soap in the sanitary area. The swimming pool is quite small, but was always well attended and the children seemed to have had fun - what more could you want. We felt very comfortable here.Automaticky přeloženo.

- Martin S.August 2017PozitivaLarge, well-kept pitchesNegativaReception and sanitary building are getting on in yearsSimple, well-kept place that is getting on in yearsWe used the site for transit, as Strasbourg and Molsheim were full. The site is located behind a residential area, but is quiet. The pitches are large and clean, water is available nearby. The reception with store is simple and small, there is no catering itself, there is a food truck on the meadow where... there is wine and barbecues. The sanitary facilities are dated, but clean. A bit of paint and minor work and the building would be attractive again. There are still leisure facilities on site, such as a playground, boules court, etc. The site was perfectly ok for an overnight stay, but would not be suitable for longer periods.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Thomas F.July 2017PozitivaQuiet location with a friendly atmosphere.NegativaAs a cyclist, you realize that you're going uphill ;)Pleasant stayI am a cyclist and was delighted with the large camping meadow with picnic tables. Very friendly staff. Supermarket and old town within walking distance. I used the stay for a city tour of Strasbourg (very good train connections). Alsatian onion tart from the van in the evening.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Manuela L.April 2017PozitivaLarge pitches and quiet location.NegativaNo gastronomy on site.Beautiful and well-kept campsiteWe have stayed at the campsite several times (with a tent) as we like to go climbing in the region. The staff were always friendly and the pitch was large and pleasant. The sanitary facilities may not be up to date, but they are always clean. Bread, rolls and baguettes can be ordered the evening before... and are delicious. The supermarket is easily accessible by car and well stocked. It is very quiet at night and we generally found the campsite relaxing. We will continue to go there and can highly recommend the campsite.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Ulrich H.April 2017PozitivaSwimming poolNegativaNo gastronomy nearbyFriendly pitch with swimming poolQuietly located parking space above Saverne, approx. 30 min walk to the center. When approaching, it's better to trust the signs than the satnav, which led us through some traffic-calmed zones. Very friendly staff, large pitches. Unfortunately, only one sanitary building is currently in use, so it was... always quite a long walk to get there. The covered and heated swimming pool is certainly the highlight for children. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants on the site or nearby.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Petra H.April 2017PozitivaQuiet, park-like grounds, close to the center,NegativanoneQuiet and scenic place in SaverneThe site is approx. 2 km from the center on foot. Saverne is a beautiful town with a great cycle path along the Canal. The campsite is very clean and quiet, almost in a park-like area. You can buy everything in the center of Saverne. There is also a supermarket near the campsite.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Robert J.September 2016PozitivaSurroundingsNegativaBehaviorMore shadow than lightThe campsite is located in the southern part of the town of Saverne (Zabern) between a quiet residential area and the large sports center including a high school. From there you can easily visit the Chateau du Haut Barr and the beautiful town center (also on foot). There are several recommendable restaurants,... often in the upper price segment. Access to the square, which is signposted, should be via the D 171 (Rue de General Leclerc). Now to the site itself. The pitches vary in size, and there would have been no room for our car if we had put up the awning. The campsite is well maintained and otherwise generously laid out (few mobile homes!). The small swimming pool was not used. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities in the southern part of the campsite were already closed, many toilets and shower cubicles were closed (probably to save labor). From a hygiene point of view, everything was average, the shower cubicles are a bit too small. Probably due to our stay from Friday lunchtime to Saturday afternoon, we were kept awake from 22:00 to 05:00 by extremely loud (and for me provocative) partying youths from the adjacent sports park. The morning continued with several consecutive soccer matches, most of which were accompanied by shouting. In summary, this was the loudest CP I have ever experienced. In addition, there are of course a lot of flies around due to the adjacent riding stables. The young lady at reception seemed a bit rude at first, which improved after I responded accordingly. There is definitely still "room for improvement" here. It is astonishing that in France (in the tourist sector) German is spoken more and more often (also on the respective seas), but this is apparently deliberately refused in Alsace, presumably for historical reasons. A reference to the disturbance of the peace at night only resulted in a reference to the "emergency number" posted at the reception. You can order baked goods for the next day at reception. All in all, this will have been my last stay there.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Andrea K.August 2016Nice campsite with poor sanitary facilities...We stayed at the site for a week and all in all had a great time. On the day we arrived, we had "teething problems" with the pitch we were allocated. The weather wasn't particularly hot and the pitch under tall trees was just too shady and too "cold" for us. That's why I wanted to move on the second... day and the ladies at reception made it very clear that they didn't particularly like it. Nevertheless, we found another very nice, sunny pitch and after that I have to say that the ladies at reception were always very friendly. The baguette service works perfectly and the food was also very tasty! The site itself is really nice, very quiet and well maintained. The sports facilities and the adjoining riding stables are not disturbing. However, the sanitary facilities urgently need a thorough clean. I've never had such dirty showers etc. on a vacation. Every day you found the same dead animals on the wall or cobwebs in the corners. There was no cleaning... The water in the showers is sometimes far too hot and cannot be regulated. There are also no toilet seats and the shower cubicles are so narrow that you have to climb into the shower tray to be able to close or open the door... I don't know what it's like in the front wash house next to the swimming pool, we only used the one at the back. Saverne is a town worth seeing. If you want to buy good wine, you should do so at L'Eventail Vins - 5 Rue François Carabin - 67700 SAVERNE. Very good advice (in German ;) ), great wines, huge selection and good prices. The Haut Barr castle is also worth a visit. From here you have a great view over Alsace. I can also recommend the boat lift (plan incliné) in Arzviller. It is really impressive.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Birgit 5.September 2015PozitivaQuiet and close to the cityNegativaSanitary facilities only in the entrance areaManageable space, central locationWell-kept site on the outskirts of Saverne, which is also within easy walking distance. The pitches are large enough and mostly shaded. Access to the pitches at the rear of the site is only possible via kerbs. Only two toilets are open in the sanitary building at the rear of the site. The sanitary facilities... (4 toilets, 4 showers, 4 separate wash cubicles for men and women) right next to the reception were always usable despite the campsite being fully occupied. The children's playground, also at the back of the campsite, was rather poor. The lady at reception put on a friendly face for the first time when we left. The campsite is very suitable for cycling tours along the Rhine-Marne Canal as well as for hikes in the Vosges.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Joachim L.June 2015PozitivaPrice-performanceNegativaSanitary somewhat scarceNeat placeA tidy campsite on the outskirts of Saverne. It's about a 30-minute walk to the center of Saverne. The pitches are quite large and well maintained. The sanitary facilities were only partially open and are acceptable, but could be better. The path next to the Rhine-Marne Canal is ideal for cycling.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Ute H.May 2015PozitivaVery quiet at night, close to the cityNegativaSanitary facilities in need of repair, not handicapped accessibleSmall, well-kept place to explore the surroundings.Very friendly reception, English and French are spoken. Baguettes and croissants can be ordered and paid for on arrival for the next day. Entry and exit possible from 7h- 21h, except rest time between 12h-15h. Park-like, well-kept terrain, partly very uneven, pitches sufficiently large, partly delimited,... grassy ground. Water and electricity within reach.electricity is included.the place is well secured in terms of electricity.a playground with table tennis table is available.also a small covered swimming pool.at night it is very quiet on the square.the place is ideal for sightseeing and hiking or cycling tours.the sanis are, well, functional, could use a basic cleaning and some repairs. There is an older and a "younger" wash house, which is located at the reception.at the ladies' washbasins there is only one socket for blow-drying hair.unfortunately both are not handicapped accessible.there are stairs and steps leading to the disabled toilets.there are also some stumbling blocks on the square itself in the form of kerbstones and unpaved slabs.this should be urgently removed. MH.as well as some vacation cottages are offered, a highlight are certainly the tree tents.currently there are only 2.a large, very nicely laid out, tent meadow is ideal for groups.there are even picnic areas available.the campsite is located in the middle of a school and sports center, ie skating rink, riding facility, boules court, soccer field ... which, however, does not bother further. Camping les Portes d'Alsace is an ideal place to pass through to the south or to explore the surrounding area.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Alfons L.September 2014PozitivaDesign, location, tranquillityBeautifully laid out course in Saverne/ZabernNext to a school and sports center, beautifully located and beautifully designed site. The entrance area with a large meadow for tents is a park. Limited sanitary facilities, but cleaned several times a day. I didn't experience any bottlenecks, although the site was always full in the evenings in mid-September. Very friendly and courteous staff. Saverne with its castle, the Rhine-Marne canal and a beautiful town center is well worth a visit.Automaticky přeloženo.
- T. M.June 2014PozitivaThe location, parking spacesNegativaSanitary facilitiesReally good course with minor flaws.Wonderful place; also for tent campers and cyclists. Unfortunately, not enough sanitary facilities, especially toilets. During our visit, there were only 2 men's toilets and 2 urinals, but about 20 places to wash dishes. The opening hours of the reception are also a bit strange. There is a bread roll... service on site and shopping facilities nearby. Ideal place for hiking (Haut Barr Castle and 2 other castles) on the mountain just behind the campsite. Nice quiet location near a sports facility and high school. Will definitely come back, but only in the early or late seasonAutomaticky přeloženo.
- Edgar H.June 2014PozitivaEasy to reach from the highway; fair price.NegativaStaff sometimes seemed overwhelmed. Shower and toilets were fine, but just the standard of a **campsite.Intermediate stationWe were only there for one night, practically as a stopover on our way to Switzerland. That's why our expectations were not so high. Nice quiet site; we had a free choice of pitches. Toilets and showers were fine, although there was a lack of cleanliness.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Jürg B.June 2014PozitivaBeautiful, quiet location, ideal for many excursions in AlsaceNegativaFriendly, but partly overworked staff. Opening of the sanit. Building and many defective showers an imposition on the guestsTHOSE WHO LOVE ALSACE ARE WELL PLACED HEREThe site is situated above Saverne, well signposted, quiet location, lower side adjoins a horse stable with large jumping arena and riding school. Approx. 20 min. walk to the center of Saverne. Ideal location for visiting Saverne, a very pretty little town on the river, various stores, Strasbourg and... round trips in Alsace. Also worth a detour to Château Haut Barr with its magnificent view over the area. Signposted from the campsite. This campsite with approx. 140 pitches was taken over by the "Vacances-Seasonova-Vacansoleil" organization in 2013 and is therefore undergoing some changes, including the construction of some mobile homes for rent. Small store available, fresh bread in the morning, meadow for tents, children's playground and covered pool. We arrived on Thursday, around 12.30 pm, with a notice on the door: Reception closed from 12 - 4 pm and the end of June and the site was about 2/3 full. The office opened at 3.30 pm and the friendly young lady was completely overwhelmed with all the new arrivals and questions from existing guests, check-in took a correspondingly long time. The pitches are clean and parceled out, but the license plates are not always in the right place, so there are more pitches, but it is close to the neighbors. Electricity connections available, but not enough when fully occupied. Sanit. Facilities only partially open. Only the "men's" part of the rear blue building was open, i.e. 1 toilet, 2 open urinals, 1 shower, several washbasins, 1 shower and 1 toilet for disabled people, i.e. for men and women from the lower part of the site. The entire "ladies" sector was closed because 1 shower allegedly didn't work! In response to complaints from guests, the manager promised to open the "ladies" section too, but nothing happened. Because the showers and toilets in the building by the main entrance were also "out of order", the situation was not improved. After further complaints, at least the ladies' toilets in the rear building were opened on Friday afternoon, but all 4 showers remained closed. We heard from other campers that the showers had been closed for days. If they really are broken, why aren't they being repaired? You get the impression that cleaning and personnel costs have to be saved here. Such a state of affairs with full occupancy is unthinkable.Automaticky přeloženo.
- Patrick S.April 2014PozitivaGood location, large pitches, friendly staff, bread roll service and lots of power columnsNegativaFew toilets and shower rooms. The site makes a very good impression right from the start. The staff were very friendly, the choice of pitches is free and the plots, which are often nicely laid out and divided by small hedges, are very spacious. There are plenty of power points and water points nearby. The sanitary facilities are... clean but, as always, this is largely dependent on the users. In any case, they were cleaned several times a day. The swimming pool had unfortunately not yet woken up from hibernation during our trip. The "bread roll" service was very nice. You order delicious baguettes and croissants the day before and they are there from 8:00 in the morning. Very nice. However, the toilets are rather sparse. There are only two urinals and two sitting toilets (unfortunately French without glasses) in the men's toilet. The women's facilities are no better. There are 4 showers, which could become very tight if the site gets busier. Above the shower and toilet facilities is the laundry room with 8 or 10 places for washing clothes and dishes. There is no store on the site, but there is a supermarket a short walk away in the small town. Beautiful hikes in the Vosges can be started immediately from the campsite. You can also visit some castles and of course Saverne or Strasbourg. So there should be something for everyone. We didn't notice any noise. However, we were mostly out and about during the day. All in all, we liked the place in the low season. In the high season, however, the sanitary facilities are likely to be tight.Automaticky přeloženo.
