marco g.August 2024Pozitivathe place offers everything you need on site! Washing machine, kitchen, shower, electricity is included! Sanitary facilities not the most modern but clean and well maintained! Direct access to the beautiful beaches. plenty of leisure activities for young and old with lots of choice. The staff are friendly and helpful. We were there with our 3 girls and can highly recommend this place. Despite its size, the mass of campers gets along well. If you want to be in the middle of it all and close to the action, book something in Marielund. If you want to be very quiet, book in Dungen. many are almost exclusively occupied by permanent campers! lullen and Kapelle are quieter areas but are located in the pine forest and are very shady.Negativamost of the areas are very narrow, the plots are mostly close together. the site is quite noisy in the season, during our visit there was a motorcycle club festival on the site! the rock music could be heard well into the archipelago! fortunately it suited our taste and didn't bother us.Top placeWe felt very comfortable here and will probably come back again next year.Automaticky přeloženo.

We were on a comfort pitch and there was so much to discover! The offshore islands, which can be reached via bridges, were a highlight. The sanitary facilities were always clean, washing machines were free and the supermarket was well stocked. The... site is huge, but the people are spread out. We came at the end of the main season. Our pitch was on the Kapell part of the site, right next to the small offshore islands. We had a pitch with electricity. The paths to water and waste water are a little further, but we knew this and chose it explicitly....

The sanitary facilities were cleaned regularly and properly.
The free use of the dishwasher and the washing machines and dryers are positive and very helpful. For the latter two you "only" have to sign in a book. In the high season, it is certainly difficult to find a time to wash, as the site has countless pitches and is Sweden's largest campsite.
There was nothing going on during our travel period. The entertainment program and the indoor pool were also closed in the last week of August. There is not much to see from a tourist point of view
in the area apart from a lot of nature, an incredible amount of nature.
The ferry to Gotland is also closed at the end of the Swedish vacations. From the Gränsö Canal, you can then only travel to the islands 3 times a week on the small postal boat for 1.5 hours - without stopping.
For cyclists, Västervik offers super wide and extensive cycle paths, mostly asphalted. If you want to go mountain biking through the woods, there are also plenty of trails. The Swedish app Naturkartan is helpful for excursions.
The waters around the campsite are very suitable for kayaking/SUP. In any case, we saw lots of people who had brought their own boats. We couldn't borrow any more, as the season was over here too. Too bad, BUT we hadn't had so much peace and relaxation on vacation for a very long time! From many of the tourist pitches you can see the water and the archipelago islands off the coast, some of which can be reached via footbridges. Several sanitary... buildings, the one we used was not always clean, although it was still low season, and tradesmen would have had work to do, e.g. with door handles/lighting. The campsite is large, depending on the pitch you can incorporate getting bread rolls or going to reception into your fitness program. There is a lot on offer, playgrounds. Adventure pool, several restaurants, sports fields etc., I don't want to list everything here, see the campsite website. So no ice cream or sandwiches eitherA great place out of seasonFirst of all, we used this campsite almost exclusively for overnight stays in our own caravan and for personal hygiene. There are no events, attractions or restaurants on the huge campsite out of season. This is also the biggest drawback of the site. The reception staff were very friendly. Despite our... reservation, we only found out on site that we had been rebooked. That was a shock at first because we wanted to stand by the water, but we were allowed to choose a free pitch and no. 404 was even better than the reserved pitch. Otherwise the check-in was more than uncomplicated. The site was only about 40% full. We were able to spread out a bit, but the pitches are otherwise rather small. ( 80-90m² ) The showers were without coin system incl.. Our sanitary building ( Kapella ) was clean and very well equipped. However, we also looked at other buildings on the site and there were also some unsightly ones. As described at the beginning, there are stores but they are all closed. So unfortunately you have to get your ice cream or sandwiches in town. Only the swimming pool is open and the bathing areas can be used. We wouldn't want to visit this campsite during the season, when it's probably really busy. The big advantage is the location. We were right by the bridge on the Scheren and every vacationer should take a look around. The landscape is amazing. We'll be back in the off-season if we get the chance.Automaticky přeloženo.

But that wasn't too bad, we went to the great fun pool with slide and our children (10/7) loved it. We were also able to explore the large bouncy castle in the pouring rain. We particularly remember the tour... of the offshore archipelago islands, which can be reached from the mainland via bridges. A very nice walk! I would particularly like to highlight the well-equipped, cozy lounges with kitchenette, especially in view of the wet weather. And what was also great: washing machine and dryer were sufficiently available and FREE - a real rarity!!! Very loud.Very huge and very loud campsiteIf you are ok with many people making party and being loud till after midnight it's a place for you. Unfortunately with a baby it's everything else but perfect. Young people are very ruthless in the evenings, they are running screaming right next to the caravans and no one cares. It is a very large, well-organized campsite that is divided into several areas due to its infrastructure. Due to the boundaries of forest, rocks and water, you don't really notice the size of the campsite until you take a walk and realize... how huge it is. Unfortunately, we realized that the campsite went into hibernation very quickly after 15 August. The restaurant was closed, leisure activities were no longer offered and various activities could no longer be booked. The sanitary facilities, lounges and kitchens were always in a clean and inviting condition. The sanitary facilities are clean and there are plenty of them. This is our second time on the site. The first time (early June) we were delighted. Then in July we were very disappointed. An hour's wait at the reception. The campsite was overcrowded.... We felt like we were at a funfair, no sign of peace and quiet. The caravans and mobile homes were parked close together on the access roads. Some caravans still had to be maneuvered so that free spaces could be filled. In May, almost all the activities and restaurants on the site were still closed and the indoor pool was only open at weekends. On the other hand, it was very quiet and we had the washrooms and recreation rooms almost to ourselves. The... sanitary facilities in our area were fairly new and very clean. The main season ended on August 15, and the next day the site was only half as expensive. We arrived by chance on the 15th and spent another night on a nearby pitch.
