My children were very disgusted in the toilets. We didn't use the showers at all. Something urgently needs to be done here. Not just renovation but also in terms of the state of cleaning. Otherwise, there's not much else on offer in the surrounding area. The swimming pool is also currently closed for renovation and the lake wasn't really inviting for a swim. No shopping facilities on site or nearby. Also no bread service on site. Too badGoes like thisClearly investments need to be made here to keep the place going. Sanitary area really horrible...

The site is clean, showers and toilets are wonderful. Not a star campsite, but that's not what it's supposed to be.
Outdoor pool around the corner, lake within walking distance with a small snack bar. All around, great for cycling with children,... who are also allowed to run around on the site.
Nothing for shopping or eating out nearby, but even that can be reached by bike in 15 minutes.

The lake is not, as one might expect, connected to the campsite. Therefore the name "am See" is misleading and only remotely correct. The campsite is mainly occupied by friendly, nice and helpful permanent campers. The pitches are spacious and easily accessible. The reception was friendly and pitch requests were taken into account. The sanitary facilities are... completely inadequate, 2 toilets for men, two showers, two washbasins close together. Two sinks, also inadequate. The lake is hardly suitable for swimming, but there is a nice outdoor pool nearby. The restaurant at the campsite has been closed for several years. Something should be invested here.You could make (much) more out of itWe stayed at the campsite for the weekend in July. We received a very friendly welcome at reception and were allowed to choose a suitable pitch. The pitches in general are also relatively large, each with water, electricity and waste water connections, but often uneven and sloping. There are many caravans... from permanent campers, but unfortunately also a number of scrap metal boxes, which have a negative impact on the overall picture. The children's playground is adequate for small children, but not necessarily well maintained. The sanitary building is getting on in years, generally clean, but cobwebs and nets should be removed. However, the two sinks for the dishes are so small and close together that only two hungry people would find room to wash up there. There are only curtains on the showers, in the men's showers the water runs into a common gully, so that unfortunately you can sometimes stand in your neighbor's shower. The operator was also very friendly and helpful. However, a number of campers liked to drive quickly and often across the site, which was annoying at times. The Vilstal reservoir is also completely overgrown with aquatic plants and muddy, so swimming here is only suitable in the beautiful and nearby outdoor pool.
