There are areas of flower meadows for insects everywhere, without the site looking unkempt!
The actual pitches, however, are equipped with fine gravel and heavily compacted. As a result, there are of course... no problems when driving on them. Not even after persistent rain! However, it is advisable to follow the advice of the operator (who camps himself) and use appropriate tent pegs.
The sanitary areas were clean at all times, even during the busy holiday weekend, as far as this is the responsibility of the operator. That some people can't behave....
I would also like to praise the showers, which are included in the price, some of which have removable shower heads and are equipped with plenty of hot water.
The surrounding area offers plenty of excursion destinations, cycle routes, forest paths to walk along, historical sights to marvel at and culinary delights to discover.
The restaurant on site is very good and it took us 3 attempts to get a table. But there are also many good alternatives in Kastellaun!

Very nice staff The wash house is top clean, there is a bread roll service and a Greek restaurant on site which is highly recommended, delicious food and reasonable prices. The pitches... are very large, electricity and water at the site, and shopping facilities are within walking distance. We were there with about 47 campers, all were enthusiastic about the CP. Thanks to the operator Heiko, I registered us again straight away. There is also a hotel on site, as well as the possibility to use a flight simulatorAutomatisk oversat.

The reception was very friendly and we were able to choose between different pitches. The pitches are very large. The only downside is the hard bottom, you need special herrings.
The bread rolls are very tasty. The restaurant on site (Greek) can only be recommended.... The sanitary facilities are clean. Good place for excursions on the Rhine and Moselle.

The pitches are leveled with gravel, largely horizontal and arranged in terraces.Automatisk oversat.- Mathias O.June 2022PositiveLocation, surroundings, hotel, shopping, relaxation, everything always very clean in the sanitary areaNegativCourse maintenanceAn oasis of peace in the Hunsrück with comfortOur vacation began when we checked in at the reception desk at the Burgstadt Hotel - we have rarely laughed so much. Overall, the hotel staff, who were also responsible for cleaning the sanitary facilities on the campsite, were very friendly, helpful and funny (although I didn't do the washing up...).... This campsite was 20% full at the time of our stay, so not exactly many guests (mainly short-stay campers), but you still made contact quickly. All pitches are equipped with supply points for electricity, water and waste water. water and waste water and are usually very large. However, it must be criticized here that the green area would need a little care.
The Greek restaurant is also highly recommended and if you don't want to make your breakfast, you can have breakfast in the hotel at the delicious and extensive buffet (simply great!). ALDI and EDEKA are within easy walking distance. You should definitely take a hike on the Burgstadt-Pfad and a visit to the small old town with its castle ruins and church is also worthwhile. We felt very comfortable here and will visit this campsite again. - T V.October 2020PositivePeace and quiet Hiking trail networkNegativReservationAll in all goodWe booked a preferred pitch over the phone. We knew that this was not binding. When we arrived, our preferred pitch was occupied by someone else, which really wasn't necessary as around 60 of the 81 pitches were not occupied. When we were asked to choose an alternative pitch, we couldn't get 3 of them... as they were reserved. Why were our reservation requests ignored but those of the others accepted? If we have to accept that our pitch is taken on arrival, why don't others have to accept it? Especially as, and this is the gag, not one of the "reserved" pitches was occupied for a single minute during our 9-day stay. I mentioned this to reception - they couldn't explain it.
And now for the positives: the sanitary building is clean!!!
Town and shopping centers within easy walking distance. Lidl a little further away.
Great network of hiking trails right outside the barrier.
We were there with our dog and were relaxed.
The operator is not responsible for the weather, nor for the barracks.
