- D. C.September 2023PositiveClose to the beach, pitch "up on the hill"NegativnoneBeautiful place close to the beachThe site is located under tall eucalyptus trees, separated only by a barely frequented access road, directly on the Plage de la Roya beach. The lower part of the site has parceled-out pitches (almost all with electricity) and is closer to the beach, but also noisier and somewhat narrower. The area behind... it, which is partly higher, is more spacious, greener and a bit more for people who like their peace and quiet. The non-parceled pitches in this part of the site usually have no electricity. The site has a mini-market and a bread service at reception. The site is run by a couple of elderly French ladies - very charming. There is a restaurant right next door. The sanitary facilities are functional & clean (no toilet seats & paper). Unfortunate is that the gray water and chem. WC emptying is located directly in front of the (only) sanitary building.
The beautiful town of Saint-Florent is a 40-minute walk away.
With 22€ (2 pers./van, without electricity, no card payment possible) p.N. in the low season a favorable place. We felt very comfortable here.Automatisk oversat. - eckhard l.September 2019PositiveGreat location, super price/performanceNegativCloses on September 25.Super location, quiet on the beachBeautiful site with renovated sanitary facilities. 50 meters to the beach. Very friendly reception. St. Florent within walking distance via the marina. Great excursion possibilities by motorcycle. Short distance to and from the ferry in Bastia.Automatisk oversat.
- Charles A.September 2017PositiveBeautiful beach, town along the sea about 2km away, friendly operators and staff.NegativToo bad that the Pizzaria was closed towards the end of the season, I've always been in June.Wonderfully simple placeI have been coming to this lovely simple campsite for 12 years, an honest simple campsite with relatively clean sanitary facilities, close to the beach and 2km from St.Florent.very nice family business.a place for people who don't need any frills and can keep themselves busy.the beach is also ideal for small children as the water is relatively shallow.will definitely continue to visit this campsite.Automatisk oversat.
- Thomas K.July 2017Positive+ directly on the beach/sea + clean, but simple sanitary facilitiesNegativ- Long way to the town/shopping centerSimple place right by the seaTypical of the country. The site is located directly on the beautiful beach. Partly parceled out, partly trees, not everywhere with shade, not very well maintained, rather dusty ground. The sanitary facilities are basic but are cleaned regularly. Baguette service and small store on site. Full in summer. Communication in French. Walking to the village is a long and unpleasant walk, I wouldn't do it again.Automatisk oversat.
- Alexander T.August 2016PositiveProximity to St. Florent Beautiful beachNegativIf anything, you could complain that there is not enough shadeGood place to explore St. FlorentWe stayed here for 2 nights to visit St. Florent (about 20 minutes on foot). The price/performance ratio was good and the site is right on the flat sandy beach. The sanitary facilities are mixed male/female and were clean. There were short waiting times for the evening showers. There was no entertainment.... We didn't visit the restaurant, but it was always full. In the morning you can buy baguettes if you order in advance. You need long cables for the electricity connection as there are not too many power points. We would visit this site again.Automatisk oversat.
- Thomas R.May 2016PositiveBeautiful shady plotsNegativSecurity, we were robbed. See comment.Beware of theft! Two expensive mountain bikes were stolen from us overnight, chained around a tree directly in front of the tent. The theft was very targeted. Apparently we had been spied on during the day, so the crooks knew exactly what to do. Unfortunately, the reception was not very impressed by the incident and I read in an old comment that we were not the first victims.Automatisk oversat.
- Klaus E.August 2015PositiveGood location, great beach, very good price/performance ratio.NegativPower connection partly difficultAcqua Dolce - Good overall package with room for improvementThe campsite is divided into an upper and presumably newer, upper area. In the lower area, all pitches are at least in partial shade due to the many tall trees, while in the upper area this only applies to half of the pitches. Electrical connection boxes are relatively far apart in the lower area, 25m... of cable is only enough for 50% of the pitches, and it looks even worse at the top. The site is very quiet at night, but during the day there is a bit of hustle and bustle due to the beach activities and the "flying boat" with its noisy propeller, but still within an acceptable range. The sanitary facilities are functional, very clean and there is a chemical toilet disposal station for motorhomes. The operators are friendly and run a small store with fresh bread and pastries in the morning and a pizzeria on site. Dream beaches in the Agriates are best reached by boat cab. Overall very good price/performance ratio.Automatisk oversat.
- Lodda G.August 2013Nice, quiet place with a good pizzeria. The beach is clean and the water is shallow, making it ideal for small children. Paragliding and sea kayaking are offered on the beach.Automatisk oversat.
- Zelter X.July 2012On the town beach of St. Florent (Roya), three campsites are lined up next to each other like a string of pearls. This campsite is the rearmost of the three campsites and therefore the furthest away from the pretty town (2 km; approx. 1/2 hour walk along the beach). However, this campsite has by far... the most beautiful and widest stretch of beach. However, it is also very busy, which visibly affects the quality of the fine sandy beach and the water. The water is very shallow, the bay is sheltered and therefore ideal for children. The view of St. Florent is beautiful in the evening. The campsite itself is mostly frequented by French and Italians, lively, lively and not for individual travelers looking for peace and quiet. In the lower area, the tents are close together; on the hill there are a few more tranquil spots with a little more peace and quiet. A hammer and sturdy pegs are necessary! There is a small store (next to the reception) and a pizzeria on site. Both make a somewhat "cheap" impression. The sanitary facilities are old, often dingy and very full. Only cash payment is possible.Automatisk oversat.
- Joachim H.May 2012PositiveDirectly by the sea, not so crowded, fairly shallow beach (particularly suitable for families with children)NegativNO H U N D E !!!!!Great camping with a major flawI've been to this campsite right by the sea several times, the first time in 1974 with a youth group, the last time in 2008. I really like this campsite, but now that I've got a dog I can no longer spend my vacation here because dogs are not allowed. What a pity...Automatisk oversat.
- Sonja S.June 2011Our locked, valuable mountain bikes were stolen from us at the campsite during the night. The reception was unimpressed and disinterested. Allegedly, the campsite was locked at night.Automatisk oversat.
