Near Catania, on the rocky coast of the Ionian Sea, is the medium-sized terraced campsite Jonio. The campsite stretches at the foot of Mount Etna. The centre of Catania is about five kilometres from the campsite. The campsite is very popular due to the beautiful view of the sea and the tranquillity of the campsite. The campsite is located next to a quiet residential area.

Camping with a view of the sea

The Jonio campsite (1.2 ha) is situated in a wooded area. There are eighty pitches on the site. You can choose between a pitch with more or less shade or just in the sun. Note that the ground on the terraced campsite is mostly hard. The most beautiful pitches offer views over the sea. Here you can watch the sunrise beautifully. Campers and caravans park on a site with a beautiful view of the rocks and the waves.

The well-equipped bungalows and mobile homes are relatively close together. Nevertheless, you have enough privacy.

Swimming, windsurfing and snorkelling

A stairway leads down to the sea and the rocky coast. There is no beach here, but you can swim in the sea between the rocks. At Jonio you can windsurf and snorkel. Diving courses are also offered.

Wonderful dining

The campsite restaurant offers an extensive menu and has a large terrace. Pizza, snacks and take-away food are also available here. The bar has a large room where regular performances by dancers and musicians take place. At the campsite itself, you can buy fresh bread and breakfast every day, as well as a small assortment of groceries.
