- Wolfgang G.April 2019PositiveProximity to AvignonNegativOld sanitary facilitiesVisit Avignon by bikeprompted us to visit the site. At the beginning of April, the square was still very deserted. Also because the eastern bridge from Avignon was closed due to construction work. The campsite is laid out like a park. The pitches have central electricity connections. Water and waste water disposal is available... in the sanitary building. This was very dated but clean. Baguettes were available to order in the restaurant. From the campsite you can visit Avignon by bike along the canal.Automatisk oversat.
- Joshua O.August 2018PositiveGood infrastructure Nice location Good sanitary facilitiesNegativNoise at the pool Animation until 01:00 at nightSummer vacationLarge site with various types of accommodation. We were there with a tent and two dogs. The pitch was sandy and gravelly and very hard. The large pool area attracts a lot of people and this makes for a certain amount of noise throughout the day. Campers who like it quieter should choose pitches further... away from the pool. The only thing we found really annoying was the loud animation late into the night. On our next vacation on the site, we would want to sleep further forward to escape the party noise at the bar. The infrastructure with supermarket and restaurants is good, but expensive. However, supermarkets are easy to reach by car. The campsite is centrally located in Provence. The surroundings are very rural and close to the river. You could do your laps there with the dogs.Automatisk oversat.
- Ute C.April 2018PositiveLocationNegativNo washbasin in the ladies' WC, sanitary facilities far too dark, shower water does not drain,It could be a top spot, but...The campsite has a very nice, quiet location on an island in the Rhone not far from Avignon. The sanitary building is of closed construction and unheated. It is very dark inside due to dark tiles, but also due to partly defective ceiling lights, which were not changed during our stay. The men's and women's... areas are separate. The ladies' toilet is without a toilet seat and hand basin. Toilet paper is available in the anteroom, not in the cubicle. Strangely enough, there is a hand basin in the men's area. The water does not run off in the shower area, apparently there is no proper slope. The water temperature is adjustable and there are individual wash cubicles with power sockets. The free wifi at the restaurant is so bad that it cannot be used at all. The supermarket and pool are still closed. The restaurant is occasionally open. Multisports field available. The campsite has a lot of potential due to the location alone, but there is a lack of necessary refreshments and dedicated management.Automatisk oversat.
- Robert B.August 2017PositiveBooking in advance is possible, but don't expect to get what you have booked.NegativNo competent staff. Overworked and not trained. Learn French so that you can complain competently.Poor managementUnfortunately, I have to withdraw my positive assessment from last time. Nothing was right this time. Rarely experienced such poor, incompetent management. Booked in advance and got too small a place, looked for and found another place, without shade, and did not get the advance shade booking refunded.... private shower could not be regulated, was only hot WiFi worked very rarely and only near the restaurant...free, so no matter, but de facto not available and that in 2017...take maps and travel guides analog, they have no reception! No peace and quiet, well suited for tour groups and teenagers without supervision, because they can bawl at night without anyone stopping them! No enforcement of the night's rest, they have to fight the war on their own. They are victims of noise and instead of someone taking care of them, they are offered to move on the last day with caravans, awnings etc. for one night...That was the last time there! Too bad, because the location is incomparably beautiful.Automatisk oversat.
- Thomas T.September 2015PositiveVery good starting point for visits to Avignon and Orange.NegativNone.Very nice and quiet campsiteThe approach should be made from the south via Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, as the roads are sometimes quite narrow via Sauveterre. If you arrive at the campsite during the lunch break, the barrier is open and you can choose a pitch and register later. The pitches are very spacious. There are many leisure... facilities on site (table tennis, mini golf, pool, etc.) The sanitary facilities are not the newest, but very clean. In the low season you have to order the baguette in the well-stocked supermarket by 12.00 noon the day before and pay for it straight away. The restaurant is good, but somewhat expensive in terms of value for money. The towns of Avignon and Orange as well as the Pont du Gard and the Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine-growing region are within easy reach of the campsite.Automatisk oversat.
- Piotr G.August 2014Recommended campsiteCamping 5 km from the center of Avignon, in a quiet area, next to the island dam. Peaceful, safe, pools for children. There are trees that give cool shade. At the entrance barrier, wristbands. The staff speaks English. We used the campground as a stopover on our way to Spain and Portugal. Recommended.Automatisk oversat.
- Birgit 5.May 2014PositiveQuiet and yet centrally locatedSuper placeWe stayed at this campsite in May with small children. After half a day of culture, sightseeing or hiking, relaxing by the pool or in the playground was ideal. At this time of year, the campsite was still relatively unoccupied, so everything was very clean. Although we arrived in the evening after the official opening time, we were let in without any problems and were able to register the next day.Automatisk oversat.
- Robert B.August 2013For us the ideal place, Avignon very close by shuttle bus. If you manage to get a private shower you are very well served, it is also money well spent. The pool is too small for the number of places, but ideal for small children, large bathing play area, quiet location, pleasantly little animation, but... very good enough for smaller children, the fact that you have to order your breakfast the day before is annoying, except for baguettes, which are sold for free. The store's offer is a little poor, but: We will certainly come back (two children 8,14) and have already recommended it to others. Is to be preferred to places near the city of Avignon! Very central for excursions.Automatisk oversat.
- Kai O.August 2011beautifully situated place in nature, animation in the evening, large pool, sanitary facilities outdated and partly with mold on the ceilingAutomatisk oversat.
- Thomas M.July 2011We were stranded there in the summer of 2011 because we couldn't find a free pitch of our choice on the Mediterranean coast. The campsite is not far from Avignon and is perfect for excursions to the papal city and the surrounding Provence. We did a lot and saw a lot. We used the campsite swimming pool... every day, but it is quite small and the water is not changed/refreshed often enough. We had problems with the mistral during our stay, which blew us through quite a lot. We turned the caravan around several times to get out of the constant storm.Automatisk oversat.
- Peter G.July 2010A very good alternative to the town squares, which are hopelessly overcrowded in high season. There is an hourly bus service from the square to the city. Disadvantage of the site . The short-stay pitches have very little shade, otherwise a good pitchAutomatisk oversat.
