- Uli R.August 2023PositiveSpacious campsite in the middle of nature. Great for families with small children. The bathing areas are also suitable for non-swimmers. Very friendly staff. Great restaurantNegativUnfortunately, nowhere is it described that the approach is very problematic and difficult for larger motorhomes. In some cases, several cars had to reverse, otherwise it was not possible to get through or get out of the way!Not for real "thick ships"Beautiful campsite - particularly suitable for families with small children. Shallow bathing areas and lots of opportunities to play. The sanitary facilities were clean and in good order. The campsite's own store stocked with regional products. The restaurant is highly recommended.
Only the access road is long, narrow and absolutely nothing for larger motorhomes! You should know this before you get stuck ...Automatisk oversat. - Christian K.September 2020PositiveClean, quiet.NegativSanitary area too small.Very simple, quiet, clean. Some of the pitches are a little uneven for tents. But you are compensated for this by owls at night. A pleasant but very basic campsite. The sanitary facilities are constantly cleaned, but are unfortunately too few; 3 toilets. Good starting point for the area.Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Cévennes-Provence October 9, 2020Thanks for taking time to write a comment. There are 9 sanitary facilities spread out over the camping place but some are close in September for ecologic reasons (less guest). You are right, there are a lot of possibilities about pitches and it is possible to choose the one you prefer.

Very friendly and committed operators, relaxed guests. - Thomas M.August 2019PositiveBeautiful location Not far from the river Large pitches Clean, modern sanitary facilities Good shopping facilitiesNegativOnly for families with children Not for those seeking peace and quietPerfect for families with children.....!"Perfect for families....! .... Couples looking for peace and quiet should look for another place. Although the site is strategically well laid out, the omnipresent screams of children can be heard from the valley floor to the furthest corner. This is our second Yellow site in the Cévennes and it too... is clearly aimed at families with children. The secluded terraced pitches for couples looking for peace and quiet are the perfect solution at first glance, if it weren't for the valley basin, which carries the noise of children up the slope. Especially in the evenings between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m., the parents take off for dinner and let the children scream themselves to sleep in the playground. If you haven't heard it yourself, you won't believe what 15 children and teenagers in the playground can do to the sound of a quiet summer evening. It gets quieter around 10 p.m. - but then the most beautiful evening hours are slowly over, even for those seeking peace and quiet. Fortunately, the lights actually go out here at 10:30 pm and then even the most persistent screamers go to bed. It's a shame, given the topography and location by the river, the large pitches and modern sanitary facilities, we would have liked to stay longer. But the children's screaming every evening in particular prevents couples looking for peace and quiet from relaxing."Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Cévennes-Provence January 27, 2020Thanks for your message, we are sorry about the desagrement. We are strict about our rules, silence is compulsory after 10:30 in the evening. Children meet each other at the playground and it is true that they can have noisy games, but not after 10:30. We remember some kids really noisy during this period,... and we came to talk to them...
As you said, there are 3 differents kind of pitches: "Plaine, Terrasse and Colline". It is possible to change place if our guest want it.
We are glad you love our site anyway, and we hope to welcome you again, maybe in a different season!

We hope having the pleasure to welcome you again, best regards from all the team! - Georg G.July 2018PositiveGreat location, the river, the place as a whole, great area, not overcrowded with tourists, quiet, nice staffNegativnoneBeautiful place in great natureWe stayed at the campsite in July 2018. It is located on the edge of the Cevennes between two small rivers. The Gardon de Mialet was the absolute highlight for us. It's right at the foot of the campsite. There are shallow bathing spots for the "little ones". You have to scramble a bit over rocks to get... to the beautiful swimming spots, but it's worth it. The pitches are more or less shady, partly down by the river in a flat area, on terraces around the reception or on a hill. There is something for every taste. We liked the terraces best. The staff is super nice and friendly, the small restaurant is also quite good overall (pizza, ice cream etc.). A small store offers many things at fair prices. In the months of July and August, it may make sense to book in advance, but our impression is that you can still find a place. In the small town of Anduze (approx. 2-3 km away) you will find everything you need (petrol stations, supermarkets, etc.). Quite a nice place. Within a radius of 20 - 50 km countless excursion possibilities to the Cevennes or Provence. The sanitary facilities were always clean, except for the dirt of a few piglets, but unfortunately they are everywhere. Overall, there should have been a few more toilets in the terraced area where we stayed. You had to bring your own toilet paper and soap - there is certainly room for improvement. But that's the only criticism. During our three-week stay, the camping community consisted of (many) Dutch, Germans, French and a few other countries. We really enjoyed our time there, the campsite and the surroundings as a whole and we will certainly be back again. The campsite stands out positively in many respects and is a clear recommendation for a vacation in the Cevennes!Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Cévennes-Provence December 21, 2018All the team really want to thank you for your comment, it is very nice for us, but also for all other people who wants to discouver our beautifull environment. Best regards and wishes! - Stefan L.May 2018PositiveGreat integration into nature, river right next to it, very friendly, something for all age groups, free W-LanNegativnothing.A diamond in the most beautiful natural settingIt's time to rate a place again, because this one more than deserves it. We spent six nights here surrounded by the most beautiful nature we could imagine at Whitsun. The site is spread over a very large area and offers both sunny and shady pitches. The distance to the sanitary facilities is usually... not far. We were always given a warm welcome at reception. French, English and German are spoken here, depending on the person at the counter. There is something for everyone here in terms of pitches. In a wide variety of sizes and shapes. Most with, some without electricity. All pitches have one thing in common - they are beautifully integrated into the natural surroundings. Every part of the site is beautifully landscaped and very green. The river flowing directly past here is audible due to a damming threshold, but is by no means disturbing. Children can swim here in water that is usually only knee-deep - bathing shoes are of course compulsory ;) A little deeper down, daredevils can also go down the rocks on an air mattress in a wonderfully naturally washed-out riverbed, provided the river has enough water. This time there was a lot of water and the current was too strong, but this is also pointed out and warned of on arrival. The toilet blocks are sometimes older, depending on the location, but always clean. You can't blame the campsite for what some people have left behind. There are no toilet seats, as is usual in these regions, and you have to bring your own toilet paper. This is also common. There is a nice playground for the kids near the reception, right next to it is an older mini-golf course, which is no less fun. There is also an adjacent tennis court. Both can be used free of charge in the low season. Of course, there is also a boules court, a small restaurant and a store selling essentials at very reasonable prices. Meat, sausage and cheese from regional producers can also be purchased here. Very tasty and highly recommended. A spring behind the tennis court provides the best and free drinking water. We enjoyed it ourselves for seven days without any side effects. There is also a volleyball court and a sunbathing area by the river. Various activities are on offer and there is also entertainment during the season. We tried archery and the massage. Highly recommended, the masseuse is phenomenal and knows her trade extremely well. However, knowledge of the French language is often an advantage here, but is also possible with hand and foot. Wi-Fi is available free of charge for older guests in a covered area next to reception. The cell phone reception in the entire valley, depending on the provider, is rather poor with H to H+. You can hike directly from the campsite, excursion destinations are within easy reach and offers can be booked from the campsite. Larger shopping facilities are about 3 kilometers away with InterMarche, LIDL and ALDI at normal prices. We only saw the approach - there are probably two - from one direction. With a car, VW bus, small caravan ala Eriba Touring, this approach is certainly feasible, the last kilometer is almost only passable in one lane and provided with a bridge over the river, which - I'm not sure - allows a maximum of 2.20 m to pass safely. Possibly 2.30 m caravans would also fit over it, as the kerbs on the left and right are very low. Personally, I wouldn't try it and would look for an alternative approach. Several larger caravans and motorhomes on the site showed that it must be possible. According to reception, it makes sense to book in the high season, as the site is then full. I can't really report anything negative, we really liked it and it certainly won't be the last time we've been here.Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Cévennes-Provence June 11, 2018We sincerely thank you for your very kind message! We hope to see you again - Stefanie L.August 2017PositiveReception always manned, boules in the evening, mini market with regional products at great prices, good restaurant on siteNegativFrom September 1, reduced offers and promotions, the winter season will begin and the pitches on the river will no longer be available for rent.Great place, highly recommended - top for familiesAt the end of August 2017 we spent our summer vacation as "full campers" 2 adults and 3 children (5-14 years) on the site. It is laid out like a terrace. You definitely have your peace and quiet there. There are plenty of shady spots. The reception speaks English and German. The mini golf course and... various daily activities are great. A circus group also came by one evening with their show. The Gardon river is good for smaller children in the "upper area" and for swimmers in the "lower area". The children have fun building new river paths with the stones. The lower section with its natural slides can be used for a long stretch without any problems. However, bathing shoes are always recommended.Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Cévennes-Provence February 12, 2018Thanks for taking time to write a comment with many details, we hope to see you soon! - Achim P.August 2017Positivegreat location, beautifully laid out with love, ideal for familiesTop campsite - recommendableWe spent a wonderful vacation in 2017 as a family with 4 children 11,9,6, and 2 years old. The location right on the river was perfect, the lovingly laid out pitches with lots of shade are just great. The owner family is very friendly and courteous, you can feel in every detail that the campsite is their... passion. The sanitary facilities are generally ok and usually clean, but here and there there is a need to catch up, which has already been implemented in the new facilities on the site. There is also a lot to see and experience in the nearby and somewhat more distant surroundings.Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Cévennes-Provence October 25, 2017Thanks a lot for your nice comment! - Stefanie E.July 2017Positive+ Natural campsite directly on the river + rich and regional offer in the camper shop + German-speaking receptionNegativ- The sanitary facilities really need to be improved. - The restaurant offers poor quality.Unique place with backlog in sanitary facilities and restaurantThe site is uniquely beautiful in its layout, it offers an exemplary playground, plenty of shade, a great camper store with regional products, it has a German-speaking reception and the three men on the site are super friendly. For the most part, the ladies are too, but if you want something during the... lunch break (12:00-16:30!), you will be told quite clearly about the opening hours, even though there are three people in reception who have nothing to do at the moment. The adjacent sanitary facilities are cleaned at the same time, which means that you sometimes have no access at all, and they are really out of date without toilet seats, toilet paper and soap! In the high season, you often have to wait because there are not enough toilets. The water is also never really hot and can't be adjusted well in the showers. In the shower and at the sink you have to keep pressing as the water only runs for a few seconds. There is no restaurant within walking distance (cycling on the roads is rather dangerous), but there is a restaurant on the campsite. However, this is sometimes an imposition. Dirty dishes twice, overpriced for fast food quality and service staff who sometimes only speak French! On the other hand, the small store is really great and offers regional products and great bread. The river is ideal for families with small children as it is very shallow, but that is also the disadvantage: you can hardly swim and it became increasingly dirty during the two weeks we were there. Certainly not nice in midsummer! Getting there with the caravan is a real challenge and you can only hope that nothing comes your way. Excursions to Bambouseraie and Anduze and to the ingenious caves in Trabuc offer plenty of variety and hiking is also wonderful here. A great place with huge potential, which it could exploit with just a few changes, then it would be unbeatable.Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Cévennes-Provence August 1, 2017Thank you for the stars and the comment we will take into account.
Indeed, the midday break between 12:00 and 16:30 is reserved to welcome the new guests, to update administrative work and to eat quickly…
But we still remain available even if opening times are reminded more or less gently…We are really... sorry, we are sometimes tired.
About sanitary facilities, our campsite is superior to 3* French camping standards (soap are paper are not required) but we understand you might wait for better!
Hope to see you again - Thomas S.August 2016PositiveThe location in nature by a flowing body of water, many individual pitchesA summer dreamThe place was our salvation. We always travel without booking at peak time. In the south of France, that can be exciting. After countless telephone inquiries, we ended up at this excellent campsite. The operators are very friendly and speak German. Approaching the site can be a bit tricky. There's a... narrow bridge, several sharp hairpin bends and steep inclines to negotiate. Our camper van is 2.5 m wide and 8 m long and luckily the towing vehicle has four-wheel drive. We had found a nice, large, flat and overgrown site. The ground was hard with a sandy top layer (nothing for PVC heels). Many pitches have partial and full shade. There are pitches down by the stream or in the hills. In August we had 32°C during the day and 25°C at night. Nothing stands in the way of a great summer vacation. To cool off, you can jump into the stream, which is around 20°C. The farm store has everything you need to quench your thirst and hunger, including regional and organic products. However, barbecues with coal are not permitted. The free WLAN near the reception is almost always overloaded. You can buy a fishing license at reception and try your luck in the stream. This is especially great for children. Because we liked it so much, we stayed for 14 days and really relaxed.Automatisk oversat.
- Ulrich V.July 2016PositiveVery good recreation possible in beautiful nature. We would love to come back.A very beautiful and lovingly designed campsite, which is run by the Marais family with a great deal of personal commitment. Helpfulness is very important. We and our 16 to 20 year old children felt very comfortable during our 3 week summer vacation. Everything on the campsite is coherent. The wash houses... scattered around the entire campsite (including in the hills) are being or have been renovated - planned and built in-house. It is possible to camp near the river as well as in the adjacent hills on individual terraced pitches. The access road to the campsite is exciting (steep and sometimes narrow), but fun. The small store is always stocked with fresh food from the area and there is everything you need for your daily (camping) needs. In addition to German and English, Dutch and Spanish are also spoken. You can relax in peace and quiet on the campsite, but there is also the opportunity to be active (swimming, tennis, table tennis, mini golf, volleyball, archery, hiking, yoga, etc.). We will definitely be back. Thank you for 3 relaxing weeks of vacation!Automatisk oversat.
- Jochen B.August 2015PositivePeace, location, friendlinessNegativnoneIt's good to be there!A very nice place! If you are looking for peace and quiet, you will find it there, as the site extends over almost three hills. Green as far as the eye can see! If you want a lively place, you can go down to the reception area, below which the campers stand close together. We were up on one of the hillside... terraces with a fantastic view of the valley. The noise level was more than bearable despite the occasional evening entertainment and concerts. Good, clean sanitary facilities, tips and help at reception, tasty regional products in the shop at reasonable prices, where you can make a note if you don't have enough cash.Automatisk oversat.
- Stefan S.June 2015Positivesomething for almost every requirement...Negativnonea very nice placeWe visited the campsite at Whitsun 2015, i.e. outside the high season. A really lovely site with very friendly staff. The site offers fun for families with children in the lower part, as well as romantic pitches for couples on the mountain...we will definitely plan this site again for future trips to France. We really enjoyed the campsite again at Easter 2017.Automatisk oversat.
- Thomas M.August 2014PositivePeace, nature, cleanliness, friendlinessNegativnoneVery well managed and quiet CP on the riverCamping Cevennes-Provence is in an absolutely peaceful location between two rivers. The members of the host family are all very friendly and helpful (also in German). Care is also taken to ensure that the site is quiet by half past ten at the latest. The site and sanitary facilities are kept clean. The... river in front of the small dam has always been dredged in recent years so that you can swim there. This was not the case in 2014 (I was given various reasons, but I don't want to speculate about them here), so unfortunately the water is only up to the knee deep. Behind the dam wall, you can climb down the gorge or take a wonderful swim in the pools. We have spent a large part of our summer vacation there three times in the last 4 years and will definitely be back.Automatisk oversat.
- Thomas P.July 2014Great for families with childrenBeautiful location at the foothills of the cevennes mountains, offering different kind of sites; either plain, hill or terrace; most of them with shadow. Lot to do for children: playground, big field on river to play ball games, bathing (even for toddlers), swimming (in canyon after the damm). Friendly staff & small but well-equiped shop. Always quiet after 23:00.
- Silke W.June 2013Positive- Location, tranquillity and atmosphere - the river - tranquillity - Price-performance ratio is rightBeautifully situated place on the GardonWe've been there twice before, in 2009 and 2013, and have been thrilled every time. The site is in a very idyllic location on the Gardon, you can swim in the river, although it is very rocky below the barrage and the water is very shallow above the barrage. The reception is in the middle of the site... and looks like a small village center. There is also a boules court, a small restaurant (more like a snack bar) and a store, as well as a WiFi point, playground and mini golf. There is also a tennis court. The plots by the river are mostly shady, flat, easily accessible and not strictly limited. Otherwise, there are many terraces, some with narrow access roads and far from the shot. The site extends partly over a hill, on top of which you can admire the remains of an old Saracen watchtower. The sanitary facilities in the lower area are fairly new, and older in the other parts of the site, but overall they are absolutely fine and clean. The access is a bit adventurous over a rather narrow bridge, but can also be managed with caravans. The operators are very nice and welcoming, some of them can also speak some German. During our last stay, the boules court always closed at 11pm sharp, i.e. the floodlights went out. It was absolutely quiet afterwards. We will certainly come back again, we really liked the place. There are lots of interesting things to do in the surrounding area, including Pont du Gard and Nimes, but Anduze itself is also very pretty, and there is also the bamboo area - highly recommended.Automatisk oversat.
- Michael N.June 2013One of the most beautiful campsites I've seen so far. The location and the campsite are hard to beat. The infrastructure is very good, especially the playground is great. The only drawback is that there is no sand or sandpit either by the river or in the playground. Our little worms really missed that.... Otherwise: The service at the campsite is very good. There is a market in the area almost every day where you can buy regional products. We will definitely be back.Automatisk oversat.
