Nice family place with nice and friendly staff. As we don't speak much French, it was an advantage that the operators also communicated with us in English. The motorhome port no longer exists, and the other parking lots in the area also have prohibition signs to make it clear that motorhomes and caravans... are only welcome at the campsite, but if you arrive after 18:00, you're out of luck, as the CP barrier is closed and if the bistro is also closed, you can't drive onto the site. As for the sanitary facilities, there is now only the container, which is acceptable (both in terms of facilities and cleanliness), the other sanitary building has been closed. The bistro at the campsite was inviting, but it was open on Sunday but not on Monday. Unfortunately, we were unable to find out the exact opening times. We were close to the marina and there was a strong wind, so the "jacked up" sailing boats caused a lot of noise (whistling noises and the steel cables hitting the masts) and construction work meant that the noise could be heard from 8am onwards. To summarize: an inexpensive place for those who don't need a lot of comfort, recommended for a short stay.

The 2-star campsite L'Estuaire is located directly on the Loire estuary in the fishing village of Paimboeuf and is a good starting point for excursions to Nantes (approx. 40 km away). It is a simple site, but run by friendly staff. The campsite has a covered swimming pool. There is also a playground.... The sanitary buildings are old or housed in a container. The pitches are in the pine forest. We paid €31 per night for 4 people and a pitch. Important: Camping right at the mouth of the Loire sounds beautiful and could be, if it weren't for the monstrous factories on the other side of the river! So you need a clothespin for your nose and always keep your head turned to the left while watching the sunset, then you'll be in pole position for the romance ;-)! - A motorhome harbor belonging to the campsite is located directly between the campsite and a sailboat harbor. The overnight stay in the harbor costs 4 €, the disposal is done on the CP.
