- Gerrit S.August 2023PositiveBeautiful flat pitches laid out around a small playground. Spacious pitches where you don't have to maneuver back and forth.NegativSome of the routes to the wash house can be longer with small children. (complaining at a high level)A paradise for childrenHighly recommended for families with small children. Huge, lovingly designed playgrounds and a great indoor pool (also offers great sun protection for toddlers in summer) for small children. For the slightly older ones there is a great outdoor pool with lots of opportunities to have fun.Automatisk oversat.
- Mathias U.July 2023PositiveThis course not only leaves nothing to be desired, it also sets new standards! The division into many small meadows (areas) means you don't feel the size. Each meadow is marked with an animal so that even the little ones can find their meadow. In addition, there is a playground in the middle of each meadow, with a digging area, swing and small slide. The sanitary blocks are easily sufficient and very clean, even at full capacity in the high season. There is a path around the site for access by car, parking is along this path, so that almost no cars drive on the site and the children can move around freely. Then there are lots of opportunities to play. In addition to the small playgrounds, there are also a few larger ones and a huge digging box, what do I say, digging dune! I estimate it's one hectare in size (you can see it very well on Google Maps)! There is also an indoor playground for bad weather. There's something for every age group up to 12 years, and even virtual play options for the older kids. The pool area has 12 slides, including three for the little ones in the indoor area where the pools were 32 degrees. The supermarket has everything you need or could need! The selection in the restaurant is decent and better than we have often found elsewhere. There is a launderette with over 10 washing machines. We were there in high season and didn't have to wait anywhere on the campsite. We arrived one day early, at 9:30 pm, and were approached by an elderly gentleman who told us to drive up to the barrier. It turned out to be the founder of the campsite and we were able to move into our pitch one evening earlier. Thank you for that! There were no hidden costs, the bathing and swimming area and all the attractions are included in the price.NegativOne thing I found annoying was that the restaurant only had menus in Dutch. I read in advance that the entertainment was only in Dutch. I didn't find it annoying as the place was almost exclusively visited by Dutch people, which also speaks for the place.Perfect up to 12 years, unrivaled! This place can serve as a model for many places. I think the focus on children up to the age of 12 makes a lot of sense, but the layout and structure can be transferred to any other place and, in my opinion, is a great advantage!Automatisk oversat.
- Sascha M.June 2018Positive- Very child-friendly - Playgrounds - BMX tracks - Outdoor/indoor swimming pool - Petting zoo - Indoor playground to use - WLAn favorableNegativ- somewhat uninteresting for children over 12 (except for the BMX track)Child-friendly placeWe were there for a week at Whitsun and were very satisfied. A private bathroom on the pitch, with toilet, washbasin, shower & underfloor heating! Simply awesome! Large, grassy pitch, well-kept, cars not on the pitch. It was relaxing, the staff were always friendly and helpful, communication partly possible in German, always in English. Soccer pitch, BMX track, ... lots of options available. We would love to come backAutomatisk oversat.
- Peter R.October 2017Positive+ Parking space size + Wash houses for rent + Child-friendly, play facilities, events + Beach without sea + Facility as a wholeNegativ- nothing of importanceNot bad...We, two adults, a 15 year old girl and a dog stayed at the site from 10/14-21/17. My advance reservation was funny. After I made this online, I received an email the next day asking if we really wanted to book, as it is a campsite for younger children and my daughter was already 15 years old. I thought... that was good, but we already knew that from various forums and we confirmed the booking on a comfort pitch with its own wash house. And this wash house, integrated into the surroundings, was our highlight, tiled, underfloor heating, spacious, WC, shower and large washbasin. As is almost usual in the Netherlands, the pitch was on one of many fields with about 10-12 other pitches and in the middle of the field there was always a sandpit, small slide and a playhouse. This campsite is popular with children up to the age of 12, and rightly so. What wasn't so great, but we are guests in a different country, was that nobody in the restaurant could help us in English, let alone in German, with our choice of food.Automatisk oversat.
- Julia H.October 2017PositiveThe beautiful course layout and the many playing options, especially the sand hill.Negativ-------Generous and versatileThis was our second time there during the fall vacations. With three children (8,8+10) and two dogs. Super large pitches, park-like areas. The sand hills are great, as is the swimming pool. The site also has so much else to offer that our children don't want to leave the site and want to go back next... year. In addition to the play areas, there are also beautiful forest paths and open play areas all around the site. We adults found a nice jogging track and a dog run with exercise stations such as slalom and tunnels. The nearest town and nearby Eindhoven are also worth a visit. On the last day of the season, which was used almost exclusively for departures, we were kindly given something to eat in the restaurant. The really well-stocked store was open all the time, despite having few guests. We are currently enjoying the quiet low season, with few guests, and I thought long and hard about whether I should praise it at all 😉. But the place is really great! Clean sanitary facilities and hot showers with hand showers.Automatisk oversat.
- Martin B.October 2017Positive- crazy large sand playground - beautifully situated - highly recommended for the kidsNegativ- An indoor playground would be nice for very modest weatherJust right for kidsWe were there for the first two weeks of October and we can agree with monja-87's assessment. The only thing that didn't bother us so much was that we could hear one of the main roads and the planes taking off from Eindhoven over the site (not a great noise), because everything was quiet at night and... that's what matters. We were on pitch 409 and there was a playground with swings, a sandpit and a slide house right on our section. Next to it was a small soccer pitch and a small playing field with basketball hoops and mini goals on artificial turf. The huge sandpit next door with all the climbing facilities and water pumps etc. was a real treat for our junior. We also used the indoor pool, which was really nice. The BMX tracks were also used intensively, although the one in the 700 area is definitely better. The sanitary facilities were clean (we were almost on our own), only on the weekend when there were lots of permanent campers they looked a mess. We sometimes wonder how they do it at home. In short: we were very satisfied and it was a paradise for the kids in terms of play facilities.Automatisk oversat.
- Monja M.October 2017PositiveLots of space, great play options, friendliness etc.Negativ---Lots of space and wonderful for childrenWe were with friends in the first week of October on a comfort pitch with private sani. At 150 square meters, the pitch is huge! The sani is lovingly hidden in the "hill" and is just right for the cooler season with underfloor heating. There is play equipment for children in every camping bay. The well-tempered... swimming pool with water playground invites children to splash around and play. The large playground is beautifully equipped with equipment for children of all ages. There are 2 BMX tracks for the bikers among the kids. But the best thing is the huge 40,000 square meter dune landscape with water pumps, play frames, tunnels etc. for fun-filled days. Surrounded by seating for parents or for breaks, it really is the highlight of the site. Not forgetting, of course, the friendliness of the operators, who have asked why the course has not yet arrived in Germany. Incidentally, this is also the only drawback...it was very empty, as there were no vacations in NL yet. It might have been quite boring on its own. But hopefully that will change soon.Automatisk oversat.
- Michael B.September 2017Great place for children! We (family with two children 9+2) stayed at this great campsite for four days. Really large, car-free pitches, clean private sani with underfloor heating! A small playground on each field (approx. 20 pitches), a large playground in the forest and then the huge sand and mud dune.....class! BMX track,... small artificial turf pitches, basketball, ..... Our water rats loved the large indoor and outdoor pool area! But it's not for adults. The small petting zoo is also ok! The entire infrastructure is well thought out! There is also a supermarket and a small snack bar.Automatisk oversat.
- Klaus S.June 2017PositiveClean and well maintained Nice Many leisure facilities Beautiful pitchesGreat placeI am really impressed. Beautiful pitches, friendly staff, clean sanitary facilities, a gigantic, clean and well-kept sand-water-mud playground, a good and inexpensive snack bar, beautiful all-weather pool, sports fields, bicycle BMX course, great playgrounds, petting zoo...if you don't find anything there, it's your own fault.Automatisk oversat.
- Ruth B.April 2017PositiveSand-water facility and playgroundNegativFew German-speaking contacts for the childrenSuper placeThe huge water-sand play area and the large playground are great. We also liked the swimming pool. The private sanitary facilities are spacious, warm and clean. Unfortunately, few German-speaking vacationers and staff (information, animation,...). But overall just great! Also great for non-campers thanks to the various rental properties.Automatisk oversat.

- Simone P.September 2016PositiveGreat indoor waterland huge pitches impressive sand dune landscapeNegativ1-ply toilet paperPerfect children's campsiteWe stayed at this absolutely fantastic children's campsite at the end of September with children aged 1, 9 and 12. The whole weekend cost just €67 and was more than worth it. The campsite is located in the forest and is characterized by very large pitches, almost all of which have their own small playground... (ours had a playhouse, swings, even a baby swing, sandpit and slide). Our little one loved it. We were very impressed by the huge sand dune landscape, where the children can play, splash and run around to their heart's content and where the adults can relax on the lawn or in the little houses. The entire water landscape was also very child-friendly. The outdoor area has four water slides, a swimming pool and a large fun pool. The indoor area is divided into an indoor water play area and an indoor swimming pool with several swimming pools, which are also very child-friendly and equipped with slides and water animals. The only disadvantage we found was the lack of showers. There are only three showers in the direct passageway to the pool, but these are actually more for showering off. Opposite the Wasserland is a large playground and a really spacious and beautifully laid out children's farm. We were very surprised by the large amphitheater, where many parts of the appealing entertainment took place. We have never seen anything of this size on a campsite before. The entertainment was very child-friendly, even if it was only in Dutch. The prices in the campsite's own supermarket were very reasonable, which is rather unusual for campsite supermarkets. The snack bar also had very fair prices and the quality was good. The sanitary facilities are modern and were cleaned regularly, as was the rest of the campsite. We saw a lot of camping staff who made sure everything was clean. The only thing we didn't like was that there was only 1-ply toilet paper. The weekend was a great success and we will definitely be back. An absolutely great campsite with children!Automatisk oversat.

- Michael H.May 2016Positive- nice playground - clean sanitary facilities - child-friendly swimming poolNegativ- Animation unfortunately only in DutchA good place for young familiesCamping De Paal made a friendly, well-organized, clean and well-equipped impression on us. The first telephone contact was very friendly and nice. We were promised the low package price for Whitsun, even though we arrived a day earlier and stayed for a shorter period. The reception was also friendly... on arrival and the lady spoke very good German. We were given a map of the site, on which the free pitches were marked, and with this map in hand we went on a tour of the site to choose a nice pitch. Everything else went smoothly, we didn't have to pay a deposit. We were given a barrier card, water key and swimming pool maps and drove to our pitch. For the children, the site offers a large centrally located playground with lots of play equipment for all ages. There is also an artificial dune landscape with additional play equipment, water pumps and an artificial stream. The meadow area in front is ideal for picnics. Next to the playground there is a beautifully laid out children's farm with ponies, goats, pigs, chickens etc. There are 2 cross-country bike trails on the site. Parts of the surrounding forest are designated as a play forest and are partly equipped with seating. The swimming pool has an indoor and outdoor area. In the indoor area there is a large water playground, several smaller pools with different water depths (from 0.3 to 1.35 m) and a small water slide. The outdoor area has three water slides, a fenced-in swimmers' pool and a large non-swimmers'/play pool. The pool was always clean despite the large number of people. The animation has various offers, including theater/musical performances. Unfortunately only in Dutch during our stay. Over Whitsun the place was almost exclusively occupied by Dutch and Belgians. We did not make use of the restaurant. The snack bar offers everything a deep fryer has to offer at fair prices and good taste. The supermarket is well-stocked and offers household goods, toys, bath textiles and a selection of camping items in addition to food. The prices here were also reasonable to normal. There are four modern sanitary buildings on the site, which were always clean despite being very busy. We didn't find any explicit children's sanitary facilities (but we didn't look in all the sanitary buildings either), but there were spacious family bathrooms with a bath, shower and washbasin. Vehicles may only be parked on the pitch for assembly/disassembly. All pitches have allocated parking spaces in the immediate vicinity.Automatisk oversat.
- Joachim P.April 2016PositiveA paradise for children, great entertainment program in high seasonGreat entertainment program for childrenVery friendly staff, great playgrounds (including a huge area with sand), pool, petting zoo. At peak times there is a full entertainment program for children from approx. 4 - 14 years. Also practical as a starting point for the Efteling, approx. 30 min driveAutomatisk oversat.
- Jan v.August 2014PositiveLarge and varied entertainment program. Gigantic playgrounds for children of all ages. Beautiful location in a forest.NegativNoHigh quality family campgroundCamping De Paal is a campsite that is particularly suitable for families with children during the high season and school vacations. Outside of that it is also very pleasant for all other camping categories.Automatisk oversat.
- Christoph H.June 2014PositivePlaygrounds and swimming poolNegativmoderately clean sanitary facilities, swimming pool manageablebeautiful children's campsiteWe went to "de Paal" for a weekend. Attracted by the promise of the "best children's campsite in the Netherlands", we went there. The campsite with swimming pool and playgrounds is really great, but not outstanding. The sanitary facilities are new and nice. The cleanliness is satisfactory. The pitches... are spacious and well located. There is a lot of forest in the area, but we didn't find any well-signposted hiking trails. Conclusion: Well suited for a nice weekend. However, the promise "Best Kindercamping van Nederland" is too much of a promise.Automatisk oversat.
- Frank G.July 2012We stayed at this campsite from 07.07.12 to 14.07.12. It really is a very nice place. The sanitary facilities were spotlessly clean the whole time, despite constant rain which made the sandy paths soggy. Gastroservis is pretty mediocre, we ordered the same thing on 5 different days and each time received... a different type of hamburger, which was quite annoying. You could shop there very well and also cheaply in the evening there were still fresh rolls. Washing machine room was very dirty! What a pity we were the only Germans so our little son was bound to be bored. The theater is nicely done but it's just not for German children. But even though it was raining all day, it was generally nice there and we will try it again, maybe we will find a playmate for our son.Automatisk oversat.
- Rene S.June 2010The Pole is customer friendly for vacation guests. but for pre-season (vsz) guests it is not. Guests who spend several years vsz at the campground have NO more priority. You have to register on April 1 the following year. So RUIM 1 year in advance already decide. This has to be because of competition... they say. Haven't heard from any campground yet. So if someone is just ahead of you, you lose this spot. I find it normal that they can prove that you want to come back next year. You don't make this decision on April 1 already, but just after vsz. Campground maintenance and new stuff is only finished 2 weeks before the big vacation. The other 10 weeks only the necessary breakdowns are fixed. The cleaning of the plumbing is good during the vacations. But outside these periods lousy. For the children there is enough to do. But more (permanent) customer friendliness in the policy and at the reception surely belongs to the title 'Camping of the year'.Automatisk oversat.
