- Roswitha R.May 2024PositiveIdeal starting point for CarcassonneNegativWLANwithin walking distance of the beautiful old townEasy to reach from the highway and an ideal place to discover Carcassonne. To our delight (we are traveling with caravans) the pitches are not only separated by hedges but also very large.
Friendly welcome, bread roll service, sanitary facilities not separated by gender, basic French, but always clean during our stay and spacious cabins.
It takes about 20 minutes to walk along the river to the old town.Automatisk oversat. - Hanspeter S.May 2024PositiveSpacious plotsNegativWater everywhere lukewarm at best, long paths, muddy. Typical transit site, most of the disadvantages generated by the guests. 1 - 2 nights here and after me the Sindflut.Beautiful plots, otherwise inadequateTypical transit site, spacious and beautiful pitches. Rest inadequate.
Best starting point for visiting the Cité.Automatisk oversat. - Thomas K.September 2023PositiveBeautifully situated on the outskirts and large plotsNegativSo far all good but the w-lan is not available in the whole place only around the entrance area. This is better on other pitches which are larger and there is still very good reception in the last cornerPityWe stayed at the campsite for 2 nights to see the castle and the town. That means only one day completely the other to check in and then drive on again early.Automatisk oversat.
- Thomas S.May 2022PositiveCleanliness, LaCité within 20 minutes walking distance, bread to order, amazingly quietNegativ(nothing)Perfect for a visit to CarcassonneBusy site even in the low season - booking recommended! Quiet location, within walking distance of the old town. Perfect for city camping!Automatisk oversat.
- Werner Z.July 2019PositiveTop location to the city, you are there in about 20 minutes on footNegativNone foundVery good location to the cityTop location to the city, you are there in about 20 minutes on foot. Electricity 8 A, which is not so common in the south ........................................ ......................Automatisk oversat.
- Bully F.May 2018Transit campsite near the castleNothing special, but ok as a transit campsite. Castle can be easily reached on foot. Small snack bar on site.Automatisk oversat.
- Martin G.April 2018Positive15 minutes walk to the fortressNegativ-Impractical and wasteful taps -Too little hot water on the sinksNice quiet campsiteFlat meadow area with beautiful trees. The generously sized pitches are divided by laurel hedges. Unfortunately, the hedges are currently infested by a parasite, resulting in a very foul-smelling odor spreading through the pitches. (as of April 2018) The mixed sanitary blocks were clean during our stay. Beautiful view of La Cité fortress from the rear of the site.Automatisk oversat.
- Uwe W.September 2017PositiveCarcassonne...within walking distanceNegativA lot of arrival and departure.Nice transit campsite for visiting CarcassonneBeautiful, recommendable campsite with everything you need and more. Everything is clean and tidy. Actually a place for a longer stay...but most people come here to see Carcassonne and leave after 2-3 days. Ergo relatively much movement....Automatisk oversat.
- Peter S.September 2017PositiveNo search for a parking spaceNegativexpensivePrime location for visiting the old townBeautiful modern place near the old town. This can be easily reached on foot (approx. 15 min) on a beautiful path along a stream. Well lit in the evening. Clean sanitary facilities. Unfortunately, no free pitches and generally very expensive. There is even a large dog meadow within the site for dogs.Automatisk oversat.
- Regine B.September 2017PositiveTop location - 20 minutes to the Cité Large parking spaces Children's playground Friendly receptionNegativWaste garbage can?!? Sanitary facilities: toilets, showers, washbasin in one room; quite few; unkempt Outdoor pool closed at the end of Sept.Within walking distance of the old townWe were at the campsite at the end of September. The reception is very friendly, the pitches very spacious. And as a starting point for visiting Carcassonne, the site is perfect. However, the price-performance ratio was not right for us. The sanitary facilities are inadequate and not clean. The swimming pool was already closed. We searched in vain for garbage cans on the site.Automatisk oversat.
- Ano N.September 2017PositiveProximity to the festival, shadeNegativIt is loud on the side facing the road when a car drives pastGreat base for sightseeing, but also a really good placePlenty of shade, good sanitary facilities, 2 swimming pools, what more could you want. You can easily walk to the fortress and into town.Automatisk oversat.
- Heiko G.May 2017PositiveCity tour possible without traveling by carIdeal for sightseeingI found the default parking space in the low season irritating, but otherwise nice, friendly service. The town can be reached on foot in 20 minutes, no need to look for a parking space. Very quiet, clean and well-kept.Automatisk oversat.
- Pascal S.October 2016Positive- Close to the city - Easy to reach on foot or by bikeNegativ- high prices for larger families - too few speed-reducing measures (unfortunately not everyone knows how slow you have to drive)Large squares near the citySurprisingly large pitches close to the town. Good connections, on foot or by bike, to the city of Carcassonne. Rather a place for short stays, as the prices are more on a Swiss level.Automatisk oversat.
- Eckard B.August 2016PositiveLocation close to the city, friendliness, pool, . . .Great place for city visitorsVery friendly staff. Beautiful, easily accessible pitches separated by hedges. In the evening you have a wonderful view of the illuminated Carcassonne from outside the site. The town can be reached in 15 minutes on foot for sightseeing. There is a small pool, play equipment for children, boules courts, a small store and a nice entertainment/show in the evening. A very good and inexpensive place for a visit to Carcassonne.Automatisk oversat.
- Andreas B.July 2015PositiveLocation to the castleNegativSanitary facilitiesBeautiful place for sightseeingThe best thing is the location, close to the castle. Within walking distance. Small, well-kept pool. Sanitary facilities older and not very clean.Automatisk oversat.
- Jürgen W.September 2014PositiveThe proximity to the fortress of CarcassonneNegativRestaurant is mediocre and expensiveUnusually good urban campsite in Francewell, we only used this campsite for one night each to visit the fortress of Carcassonne. Ideal as a footpath (15 min) leads to the fortress. At night from the campsite you can still take beautiful pictures with lighting of the fortress. Sanitary facilities clean and good. In the high season you should... be there at 1500 o'clock to get a pitch. According to their own statement, they are very often fully booked. WiFi free of charge throughout the site. This is a service. In the commercial area (5km) supermarkets with cheap gas stations, information is available at the reception.Automatisk oversat.
- Ulf D.July 2014good for Carcassonne visitorsVery tidy site with large pitches, mostly shaded; sanitary building good and clean, but with an unusual layout; free Wifi throughout the site (slow); the castle of Carcassonne can be reached on foot in 20 minutes on a side path along a small river; advance payment (no refund for early departure);Automatisk oversat.
- Andreas und Petra S.June 2014CarcassonneIdeal as a starting point for visits to Carcassonne Castle. A 15-minute walk, off the road, along a stream, leads to the fortress. Lawn pitch with spacious plots. No free choice of pitches!Automatisk oversat.
- maurizio m.August 2013One of the nicest found during our tour between France and Spain. Nice walk to the center of town. Large and quiet pitch.Automatisk oversat.
- E. I.June 2013Ideal place to visit the Cité, the old town of Carcassonne. A beautiful footpath leads along a small river to the foot of the castle complex. However, it is crowded with tourists and filled with the usual souvenir stores. If you arrive in the morning, it is a little more tranquil. The campsite itself is well-kept, with large, parceled-out pitches and, if you don't get a pitch directly on the road or the tent meadow, it is also reasonably quiet.Automatisk oversat.
