Vi var heldige at finde en municipalplads i Fouras (15 km. derfra) Municipal Camping L'espérance med en formidabel placering 20 meter fra stranden.. OG med gode sanitetsforhold.

As is quite common in France, you can't expect much from the sanitary facilities and certainly nothing from a "Municipal". You have to bring your own toilet paper and there are no toilet seats either. However, I didn't find it much worse than some "normal" campsites. So we were fine with it, especially... as we only had 1 overnight stay. BUT it's right on the water and only a small footpath separates it from the beach. So we're literally talking about centimetres here! There is a road on the other side, but I didn't find it annoying. Directly on the other side of this road is a brand new camper van site. Next to the "Municipal", of course, everyone can get to the beach. The town itself is very large and spacious and if you want to get to the "real" beach promenade, which is very nicely laid out, and to the stores, then you have to take a short walk or cycle there. That's where the crowds are and the tourists are everywhere. There is also a "chip shop" on the campsite, well, you shouldn't expect too much in terms of quality. If you don't want to spend your whole vacation there and are just passing through, I can recommend it. If only because of the direct location by the sea.
