- Werner W.September 2023PositiveWonderful pitch/campsite directly on the Ruhr. 2 nights directly at the weir. Light rushing of the water..... like at the sea. Could absolutely relax! Will be back!!! A very friendly operator who really takes the time to explain and show everything. !!! The proximity of the Ruhr cycle path was not disturbing!!! Top.... My dog got a welcome bag right awayNegativZero downside!!!topI have already listed everything under the benefits.
I would like to say again: Thank you!!!Automatisk oversat. - An F.May 2023PositiveLocation on the RuhrNegativNot child-friendlyNice, for people without childrenThe campsite is located directly on the Ruhr. Part of the site is separated from the Ruhr by the Ruhr Valley cycle path.
Most of the pitches have a paved area for caravans/mobile homes and awnings.
The sanitary facilities are ok and were clean. Showering costs extra (€1.50). You need a key for the toilet....
I have experienced friendlier people than the operator. She comes across as very strict and has (sometimes strange) rules. We were only allowed to set up the table lengthways and not crossways. (Although there was plenty of space). There are rules and prohibitions even before you have set up completely.
The view of the Ruhr is beautiful. Using the jetty costs extra, as does using your own SUP board.
There are some permanent campers with garden gnomes.
Not really suitable for children. No play facilities and, above all, no playmates.
The pitches by the bridge are a bit noisier (because of the traffic) and shadier. There is plenty of sun on the other pitches.
There are no shopping facilities on the pitch and no bread delivery service. No cooking facilities either.
Cars are not allowed on the site. The parking lot that belongs to the campsite is not big enough for all vehicles. You therefore have to look for a parking space on the access road.
Well suited for cycling tours or sightseeing in the Ruhr area.Automatisk oversat. - Ralf B.September 2022PositiveThe family atmosphereNegativAll goodFriendly, clean campsite to explore HattingenThe reception at the campsite is friendly and the sanitary facilities are clean,
An ideal place to explore Hattingen on foot or the surrounding area by bike.Automatisk oversat. - Armin B.July 2022PositiveIf you like wearing masks and want to use your own wet room for 25 euros a day, you'll still be in good hands here in summer 2022.Negativunfriendly with the reservation requestCorona maniaVery strange business behavior, with corona activism in a reservation request.Automatisk oversat.
- Jan G.September 2019PositiveBeautiful location along the Ruhr, good and clean sanitary facilities, right in the middle of the Ruhr area.NegativKind of small spots.Nice campground with convenient locationWe spent 6 days at this campground in September. On weekends, with nice weather, it was pleasantly crowded. During the week it was quieter. However, the campsite had many unoccupied caravans of people from the neighborhood. The sites are not very large, so the campsite seems a bit full. Very friendly... hostess, clean plumbing, nice view over the Ruhr and on Hattingen, no camping store. Good base for industrial history of the Ruhr area, cycling along the Ruhr (Ruhruferradweg, runs across the campsite).Automatisk oversat.
- Rene S.August 2019PositiveGreat location on the Ruhr Very friendly operators Clean sanitary facilitiesNegativNo catering on site Toilet paper must be taken from the anteroom.Great location with friendly operatorsWe received a very friendly welcome from Ms. Stolle and were given a very nice pitch right on the Ruhr. The pitches are spacious and well maintained. Sanitary facilities were always clean, the distances between shower, washroom and toilet were no problem - it's only a few meters. The bakery and supermarket are nearby (1-1.5 km) and easy to reach by bike. Unfortunately no catering on site - but you can prepare for that if you know in advance.Automatisk oversat.
- Michael G.July 2019PositiveGreat location on the water, friendly welcome, cleanNegativTime meadow close to the main road and therefore somewhat noisierTop location on the RuhrWe camped there for one night as part of a short father-son hike. Everything was uncomplicated, the site is located directly on a very beautiful part of the Ruhr. The pitches are all
close to the water. The tent meadow itself is at the back and visually appealing. The only disadvantage is the main road, which is a bit too close and has the corresponding traffic.Automatisk oversat. - Dirk D.May 2019PositiveNice owners Quiet location (apart from the bike path) Close to the town Directly on the water with jettyNegativActually only the cycle path when it is very busy in summer. No bread rolls on siteWe come from the Pott and stayed in the PottWe were looking for a nice place nearby and found it. On arrival we were greeted warmly by the owner and given instructions. The site and facilities are very clean. Pitch right on the water. Only the cycle path separated us from it.Automatisk oversat.
- Klaus E.May 2018PositiveGood location, easily accessible for us, totally nice and always helpful operators, relaxed overall impression, the nearby old town of Hattingen.NegativnoneThe perfect place for us to relaxA nice place without a lot of frills. It is only 2.5 km to the historic old town of Hattingen, 2 km to the shops and 1 km to the bakery. There are no shops or restaurants on the site itself, but if you know that, you can adjust to it and won't miss it. The Ruhr Valley cycle path goes right past the campsite... and you can start endless cycle tours from here. Bochum city center is also less than 10 km away, but the route is probably a little too hilly for most people for a bike tour. You can also get there by public transport. The pitches have electricity, but no water or sewage connections. This is also not a real problem and does not lead to a downgrade in our overall rating.Automatisk oversat.
- Edgar M.October 2017Recommended for a short tripNice facility with friendly service on the edge of the Ruhr area. Ideal for excursions. Great location on the Ruhr. There are drawbacks due to the peculiar nature of the location and usage regulations for the sanitary facilities. Highly recommended due to the price-performance ratio.Automatisk oversat.
- Jürgen S.May 2017PositiveClean sanitary facilities Friendliness of the owners Proximity to the old townNegativNo shopping facilities on the CPVery nice campsiteThe two of us spent a very nice short vacation with the Stolle family in Hattingen. The site is located directly on the Ruhr. The beautiful old town is about 2km away. We would particularly like to emphasize the absolute cleanliness of the site and the sanitary facilities. The Stolle family is extremely friendly and very helpful. We would love to come back.Automatisk oversat.
- Helmut P.September 2016PositiveLocation, parking space,NegativI can't think of anyCamping in the Ruhr regionBefore we left, we were asked again and again "You're going to the Ruhr". Yes, and it was great. We received a very friendly welcome and were given lots of information after being shown around the site. At first we found parking the car outside a bit strange, but in retrospect it was great. The pitches... all have a paved "terrace" and the sanitary facilities are very tidy and clean. I cycled to the bakery every morning. There and back about 2km. The cycle tours along the Ruhr are very nice. The "From the Ruhr to the Ruhr" cycle path is particularly nice. We really enjoyed the week.Automatisk oversat.
- Kai P.July 2016PositiveHattingen and Bochum are easy to reach.NegativFor us there is no .Small cozy place directly on the Ruhr .Beautiful place directly on the Ruhr . Very friendly pet driver couple . Ideal for bike and canoe tours . The proximity to Hattingen and Bochum is great. The place is simple and without big frills, but that's what makes the place :) Sanitary facilities simple but clean. We always like to come back :)Automatisk oversat.
- Holger J.August 2015PositiveBeautiful location on the Ruhr, friendly site managementNegativSanitary/showers only accessible with key, showers closed from 22h.beautiful place on the RuhrA beautiful site on the Ruhr with permanent campers and tourists. You can walk over the bridge to the center of Hattingen, in the other direction (north) to Bochum, there are shopping facilities about 1km away. The site management is friendly and helpful. Cars are parked outside the site and left on... the meadow for arrival and departure. Very suitable for kayaking on the Ruhr, cycling (Tour de Ruhr) or sightseeing in Hattingen (beautiful old town and industrial museum) and Bochum (Starlight Express, Jahrhunderhalle, mining museum, planetarium, observatory, etc.). The other Ruhr cities are also within easy reach, e.g. Essen with the Zollverein World Heritage Site.Automatisk oversat.
- Ii B.August 2015Properly managed camping meadowsimple and neat, that almost sums up this CP; the audience consists mainly of Ruhrpott people and water sports enthusiasts; getting bread rolls on Sundays would be great;Automatisk oversat.
- Hans Martin F.July 2015PositiveClean, advantageous location, friendly operatorsNegativNo demarcation to the Ruhr cycle path, operation on the cycle path. Rear seats quite noisy.Nice place in a beautiful locationThe site makes a well-kept and clean impression. The sanitary facilities were also clean. The site operators are very friendly and helpful and provide good information. You can get pitches directly on the Ruhr, with a cycle path in front of you or further back without the Ruhr and cycle path. As I said,... the Ruhr cycle path goes past the campsite with corresponding possibilities and operations. Essen, Bochum and Witten are easy to reach by bike. Hattingen is very nice and easy to reach via the Ruhr bridge. There is no catering on the site. The layout of the sanitary facilities has already been described. I can live with it. The road traffic noise mixes with the noise of the water from the Ruhr dam and therefore didn't bother me. The road is quite loud at the rear pitches. I was satisfied. A good place to explore the Ruhr area.Automatisk oversat.
- Peter L.October 2014PositiveFriendliness, location and friendliness! Did I mention the friendliness?Negativ??????Idyll in the Ruhr regionWe had an absolutely wonderful weekend on the Ruhr just 11 km from home for the inauguration of our new second-hand camper van. Super friendly site management, nice large pitches, everything you need within walking distance. The water sports facilities are excellent, kayaking is possible on the Isenburg,... culture in the Ruhrgebeat, cycling on the Ruhr or in Elfringhauser Schweiz. The simple but very clean sanitary facilities are due to the flooding. Anyone who is shown pictures by Ms. Stolle of what it looks like when the Ruhr floods can only take their hat off that this condition is possible! We look forward to the next time.Automatisk oversat.
- Michael L.September 2014Positivegreat location, very friendlyvery nice locationWe had a very nice place, right on the water! We received a very friendly welcome and someone was always there for us if we had any questions. The location is very central, you have a connection to Bochum and are right in Dortmund. We would love to come back!Automatisk oversat.
- Moritz O.August 2014PositiveSurroundings, view, cleanliness.NegativNo kiosk or similar. However, there are plenty of options in the surrounding area.I am very satisfied and would love to come backI always enjoy coming back to the campsite. The view is amazing. You have everything you need in the surrounding area and you can be in Bochum, Essen and Dortmund within a short time. The site is very well maintained.Automatisk oversat.
- Karsten P.July 2014PositiveCentralNegativdoes not giveEverything is fine and I would be happy to do it again."As the voice of the forest rings, so it echoes" - we (family with 3 children) spent almost 3 weeks on this site and were very satisfied with the overall offer. Anyone who complains or grumbles about the site operators is not aware that they have house rules and that the site operators also have a responsibility... towards the other guests. Order and cleanliness are very important here. If you are looking for a good campsite as a starting point for activities in the Ruhr area, this is the right place for you.Automatisk oversat.
