- Marco S.July 2023PositiveClose to the lake with its own beachNegativNone, unless you have problems with dogs on the course.Beautiful placeVery nice email correspondence and equally nice reception. We had the impression that the pitches were allocated carefully. Our two pitches were big enough and the distance to the neighbors was also quite large. The sanitary facilities will be completely renovated in 2024. Although they are old, they were very clean. There is a nice lounge with a small terrace.Automatisk oversat.
- J M.August 2021PositiveBathing lake, sports field, barbecue area, tranquillity, idyllic village setting, friendly publicNegativOutdated sanitary facilities, coin-operated showers, many permanent campersBeautifully situated campsite with a great swimming lakeThe site is located on the edge of Illmensee, a small, quiet, rural village right next to a church and in the immediate vicinity of the bathing lake of the same name. The site has its own bathing area. The beautiful outdoor swimming pool, the bakery, the well-stocked village store, several restaurants,... the savings bank and library are all within walking distance. You can play soccer, volleyball and table tennis on the sports/playground. There are many permanent campers. For tourists, there is a small, passable meadow and individual paved pitches as well as a tent-only meadow. The wash house and other infrastructure are very basic and in part quite outdated, but clean. If that doesn't bother you, you'll enjoy a quiet site with a friendly crowd in a rural setting. The bathing lake is simply great! You can also go for a walk (lake circuit 5/4 hours), hiking or cycling. Ravensburg and Lake Constance can be reached by car. We felt very comfortable overall!Automatisk oversat.
- Frank S.August 2020PositiveNature.NegativThe woman at reception was unfriendliness personified and not an advertisement for the campsite. Other guests also left because of the woman. - Christine T.August 2018Actually a place with potential...Actually a good location, a little away from the hustle and bustle of Lake Constance - we were looking forward to a detour to Lake Illmensee on our trip. Unfortunately, we felt like sardines in a tin. It was really cramped on the pitch we were allocated (there were about 8 campers/tents on the plot where... there would normally be room for about 5...) but then the space between us and the neighboring camper was also used as a caravan owner's parking space... that was really cheeky, we only had about a metre of space next to our table! No sign of a good night's sleep! We're not fussy, but if there's still a lot of cheering and laughter at 12 o'clock, that's definitely too much! The sanitary facilities are quite outdated but were ok and clean. The garbage area is more like a landfill and the equipment in the playground is... Well, I was glad when our children said they didn't want to play there... Too bad the place with the good location had potential! When we left the campsite prematurely after one night, nobody really cared, in the high season that's just the way it is... No, we had been to other places before and it wasn't like that there!Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Seewiese Illmensee September 8, 2018when the pitches on Lake Constance are bursting at the seams, people just come to us in the hinterland, I have certainly shown you the pitch if it meets your requirements, you could also have said no, campsites are not parceled out here, and if someone parks their car in between, then you just talk to... them or to the friendly groundsman,
On campsites, people sit in front of their tents and talk until midnight in such a beautiful summer, that's the beauty of camping, being outside under the open sky, nobody goes to bed at 10 o'clock. But it's always quiet here after 12,
Garbage is always collected on Mondays, so it may be that the yellow bags are piled up by then, which is good for us, it means there were lots of nice guests here and they sorted everything nicely, then on Monday it's all gone again and everything is fineAutomatisk oversat. - Johannes Z.August 2018Unfortunately a bit noisy at nightActually a great location for a campsite. Unfortunately, it is getting on in years and it is unkempt. The sanitary facilities are from the 70s and could be renewed. The night's rest is unfortunately not observed and not monitored. The garbage dump is like a landfill.Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Seewiese Illmensee August 27, 2018I monitor the night's rest, but in the warm summer nights the guests like to sit in front of the tent and have a glass of wine and talk, that's the beauty of camping, if that bothers you, you haven't understood camping,
but after 24.oo it is absolutely quiet with us,
if the garbage bins are full at the... weekend, everything is fine, there were many nice and satisfied guests here, we sorted the packaging nicely into the yellow bags, we stack them up until they are collected on Monday, then everything is empty again, no problem, everything is fine,Automatisk oversat. - Rasit A.June 2018PositiveNostalgic and close to natureNegativnonePeace and quiet by the water - all naturalVery nice camping place with nostalgic flair you can relax very well, great for dog owners you can go for a nice walk.Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Seewiese Illmensee August 8, 2019Thank you very much for the nice review, we try to keep everything as natural as possible,Automatisk oversat.

- Diana B.August 2017PositiveClean lake Friendly, helpful staff Family friendly Animal friendly "Petting zoo" Drinking water fountain on the ZeltwießeNegativFire in fire bowl on the pitch unfortunately not permittedVery satisfied all roundThe lake is beautiful and very clean. The sanitary facilities are a bit "outdated" but clean and hygienic. The staff are very friendly. We are very happy with our decision to go to Illmensee and not Lake Constance. The meadow with horses and goats was also very nice. Excellent for families, even with younger children.Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Seewiese Illmensee September 28, 2017Thank you for the nice review, we want our guests to have a good time with us, open fires on the pitch are a bit dangerous, the sparks could set tents on fire or burn small holes in them, I'm sure you can understand that.
We also have a barbecue area with a brick fireplace for campfires,Automatisk oversat. - Heinz H.August 2017PositiveFriendly operators, child-friendly, WLAN only at reception! Beautiful bathing lakeNegativSupply/disposal not ideal for WomosThe family-friendly courseIt is not a matter of course when the groundsman looks for two pitches for camper vans almost next to each other for us in high season and extends them by one night. Thank you very much. The sanitary facilities really need to be freshened up, but are clean. Beautiful beach and ideal children's playground. It's great that there are vehicles available for small, big and very big children. Too bad there are still intolerant permanent campers.Automatisk oversat.
- Rainer O.September 2016PositiveFriendliness of the operator!NegativOutdated sanitary facilities.Journey into the pastWe stayed at this campsite for the weekend because I was a guest here as a child more than 40 years ago. The campsite manager was extremely friendly. Our pitch was clean, water and electricity were available. The church bells (right next to the campsite) are just part of country life. The sanitary facilities... were clean. However, I had the impression that not much had changed here since my last visit! A few new tiles and washbasins are not enough. The sanitary facilities should be completely renovated - preferably rebuilt. Shower cubicles with plastic curtains and without the possibility to hang or dry something inside the cubicle are not up to date. This also applies to the coin-operated machines (3 min. hot water = 50 cents) installed at the entrance to the shower area. The reference that this is an "energy-saving system" is probably intended to distract from the fact that this is an additional source of income for the CP. People on vacation want to feel good - not save energy.Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Seewiese Illmensee October 19, 2016the reason for the coin-operated shower system is that anglers also stay here illegally at the beautiful Illmensee and sneak onto the campsite again and again to use the toilets and showers and we simply don't want that, we also don't want to have to lock all the doors,
I have only had good experiences... and feedback with our Metsch shower system, 50 cents is not a source of income but hardly covers the costs, and you can turn off the tap and split the 3 minutes of hot water up to 30 minutes, which works perfectly.
--- it's always nice at Illmensee ---Automatisk oversat. - Herr W.August 2016PositiveChild friendliness Lake Freezer for the ice packsNegativSanitary facilities Bell tower at nightstill expandableOne of the positive things is definitely the child-friendliness. Our 4-year-old daughter bonded immediately and there was hardly any boredom for 5 days. We never actually had to do anything, which was very relaxing. The night's sleep was unfortunately spoiled by the church next door. But this was perhaps... less noticeable after 3-4 nights. If you don't have thick eardrums, you should definitely pack earplugs. The sanitary facilities are pretty disgusting. They are literally crying out for a plumbing team and a tiler. The lake was really nice. The lido opposite makes children's hearts beat faster. I was quite shocked at the price for 2 adults, 1 child, a 3-man tent and a pavilion: 30 euros a day. That's definitely too much Conclusion: I think we'll be back again!Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Seewiese Illmensee October 19, 2016During the Thirty Years' War, the cunning citizens of Illmensee took the bell from the tower and sank it deep into beautiful Illmensee to hide it from the plundering Swedes, where it still lies and unfortunately rings very quietly at midnight when the moon is full..............,
That's just how our country... life is, quiet, relaxing and beautiful, but sometimes a bell rings in the village, but very little and very quietly at night, when the people of Illmensee and the groundsman, who still has fair prices and doesn't charge the campers, are asleep,Automatisk oversat. - Brigitta R.August 2016PositiveQuiet and child-friendly.NegativStill too many dogs and their owners.Upper Swabian idyllWe have stayed here twice and would love to come back. Outdated sanitary facilities. Looks like in GDR times. Absolutely renew. Waste separation was a hopeless endeavor. As the operator, I know how busy my area is on nice days, so have more garbage collected.Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Seewiese Illmensee October 19, 2016Let's leave the GDR behind us, there are individual wash cubicles with magnifying mirrors and hair dryers, toilet seat disinfection, wet toilet paper dispensers, sensor taps....
Waste separation... Simply pick up a free yellow bag at reception, put light packaging and cans in it, separate paper and glass,... put residual waste in the press container............ is not that difficult.
Waste container full on Sunday evening means ... many nice people have been here, who liked it, who have recovered well and will gladly come back, all good!Automatisk oversat. - Arnulf und Brigitte W.August 2016PositiveDirectly on the lake in beautiful natural surroundings.NegativFew showers and little space to change.Beautiful, natural campsiteWe have been coming to Lake Ilmensee for a few days for many years now. The location of the campsite is great, right on the lake, with beautiful pitches. The owner couple is friendly, the sanitary facilities are small but clean. The lake is wonderful, crystal clear and suitable for swimming or boating. The path around the lake is very beautiful. - Henri R.August 2016Positive- Located on a natural lake with its own small beach - Friendly operators - InexpensiveNegativ- Noise pollution from loud guests and the very close church bells - WLAN very poor - Very old sanitary facilities with smoking permitPlenty of room for improvementThe site is easy to reach and well signposted. The pitches are OK, mostly shady, lots of trees. The tourist pitches are scattered among the very numerous, sometimes very unkempt permanent camper pitches, electricity and water accessibility are ok. WLAN is almost only possible in the immediate vicinity... of the reception via the Telekom hotspot, at our pitch less than 100m from the reception the signal was already gone. Internet via telephone is also no fun with EDGE (D1 and D2 and EPlus). There is only one sanitary building with just 4 toilets and 3 (chargeable) showers per gender, which clearly shows its 60s (charm), a modernization would be urgently needed. The sanitary facilities were always quite clean, but the ashtrays in the toilets are actively used, which disturbs every non-smoker. Unfortunately, the campsite is located in the immediate vicinity of a church tower, which chimes annoyingly every 15 minutes (break only from midnight to 6:00 am), but calls the faithful almost daily at 6:00 am sharp with a long peal of bells and then several times a day. Of course, it's not the operator's fault, but in the age of smartphones, nobody really needs a time reminder by means of church bells anymore. What the operator could do something about, however, would be to comply with the supposed night's rest from 22:00. Regular, loud, sometimes party-like conversations/noise pollution until well after midnight were a daily occurrence during our stay, along with frequent dog barking (apparently every permanent camper has at least one dog). This, together with the penetrating church bells, is a considerable nuisance that seriously disturbs the enjoyment of the vacation. The operator and his wife are friendly and helpful, flexible and try to please everyone, which is a positive thing. For people who like a quieter vacation, however, this place is not recommended, we will not book this place again.Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Seewiese Illmensee October 19, 2016Moving caravans 3 times within the campsite in 7 days and that in the main season, not every groundsman would do that, you need good nerves,
Summer on the campsite also means sitting in front of the caravan in the evening with a glass of wine and friends and enjoying the time, that is camping..........not... at 22.oo when it is still light the total silence, there is still enough at 24.oo; but the positive thing is: there are many many nice guests who compensate for such a negative guest who goes to the cellar to laugh, otherwise the groundsman could not run a campsite for 35 years.Automatisk oversat. - Michael O.August 2016PositiveDirectly on the lake with its own bathing area. - Elisa R.July 2016PositiveVaried play opportunities for children, clean, close to natureNegativnoneWonderful location, great operators and a children's paradiseWe were at the campsite with two families we know. We had a total of six children from six months to 12 years old with us and there was plenty for everyone to do. The children loved it. The campsite's own! The campsite's own bathing area has shady trees and access to the lake with steps and handrails... for children on one side and adults on the other. There is a changing room and a bathing raft. The lake is ideal for swimming and splashing around. There are also shallow areas for small children where they can splash around in the shade of the trees. There is a playground with an electric digger, swings, climbing facilities, slide, sandpit with molds and a self-built small playhouse. However, the main activity for our kids was driving around on the Kettcars provided free of charge. There are various models with trailers and the like. The operator sometimes sacrificed his lunch break to pump up or weld the Kettcars for the kids. There is also a large trampoline, a seesaw, ball games, soccer goals and a beach volleyball court. Very committed and friendly operator couple. If you have any problems, just ask, they always have a solution (at least for our problems, such as forgotten towels and co). There is also a recreation room on the pitch with a large TV, a selection of books, games etc. So we were well catered for whatever the weather. We would love to come back....Automatisk oversat.Besvaret fra Camping Seewiese Illmensee October 19, 2016Thank you... nice guests.... We are very pleased,Automatisk oversat.
