There is a campsite and camper van site and there are two showers for everyone. You can imagine that these are not enough. In addition, the showers in the lower... area are open, so that you are always standing in your neighbor's shower water, because with the two showers it is not possible to shower if there is no one in the second shower. You soon get used to the train, but there are roaring motorcycles all night long, so you can't think about a good night's sleep. There are certainly better locations, but it was ok for us for a few nights. Otherwise, it's nice to stroll... around and stop for a bite to eat. The location is great for excursions. The price on the campsite was incredibly cheap (€20.50 Womo, 2 pers. 1 dog including electricity). No, we were not in the Womo harbor but on the pitch. Unfortunately, the paths are a little deeper than some of the pitches, which leads to the trailer coupling coming off the ground with a slightly larger camper van. The location is very nice and so is Bacharach. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi infrastructure... is rather poor. For 3 days we paid 6€ for 2 devices and after the first day we already had problems logging in again. This is simply unacceptable for 2017! The background noise is correspondingly loud according to the two railroad lines, even at night (but this is not unusual on the Rhine and Moselle. You should know when you go there). The sanitary facilities are ok, but the time spent showering is short. There is a bread roll service and a restaurant. I didn't see any disposal for service water, but I did see one for chemical toilets.Automatisk oversat.
- Heiner H.September 2016For transit, nothing moreIf you like peace and quiet, you should avoid this place. The motorcycles driving down the Rhine make a hell of a racket. Likewise, the trains that pass by every 5 minutes do not allow for relaxation. The sanitary facilities are relatively clean, but basic and far too few for so many campers. And if... you're not lucky enough to have a pitch with a view of the Rhine, you don't get any of the beautiful view, just a view of the other caravans. So we've definitely had enough. The other campsites in this valley are probably similar, so in future we will give this world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley a wide berth.Automatisk oversat.

Walter C.June 2014PositiveVery nice location directly on the Rhine.Neat place in a beautiful locationThe site is located directly on the Rhine. If you want this beautiful location, you have to accept the railroad noise on both sides of the Rhine. Here in Bacharach they are much less bad than in St. Goar. I can't complain about the size of the pitches either. Tourists with caravans or mobile homes get... pitches directly on the Rhine and stand alongside it. This provides a relatively spacious pitch. However, the campsite is quite small and therefore quickly filled. There is another motorhome pitch in front of it, narrow and without electricity. The sanitary facilities are clean and tidy. The on-site restaurant only opens at 5 pm. But there are plenty of alternatives in pretty Bacharach (just a few minutes' walk away). Bread roll service available. Nice and helpful Dutch site management. The price is quite reasonable at €19.50 (2 people incl. electricity).Automatisk oversat.

Karl Thomas K.July 2013As already mentioned in previous posts - the train traffic is perceived as very disturbing, especially as a train thunders past almost every minute to the left and right of the Rhine. Road traffic noise is also clearly audible. Even the panorama over the Rhine and the view of Stahleck Castle are only of limited comfort. Bacharach itself is just a few minutes' walk away and, with its wine houses, is definitely worth a visit.Automatisk oversat.
