- Hansruedi G.June 2023PositiveNight restNegativdirty and old.bad campsiteThe place is getting on in years. The swimming pool has algae and is dirty. The toilets are not cleaned. The restaurant, there are a few pizzas and two different types of spaghetti and this was all the dishes. No vegetables, no salt and the pizzas were not fully baked. Raw dough and sparse toppings,... not like this. There is no maintenance. The paths were dirty and full of weeds. The nearest store if you don't have a car or bike is very far away. The beach the same. When the sun shines you are sweaty after the climb over the high dune. On the whole the place is dirty and old. The dogs do their business all over the meadow in the children's playground in the sand, some of them run around freely. We cannot recommend it.Automatisk oversat.
- Nicole H.August 2022PositiveLocation close to the beach, good cycle pathsNegativHelicopter cabs increased on some daysBeautiful locationWe arrived before 12:00 noon. There was no other guest at the reception, the place we got was what we learned afterwards, had been free since 10 o'clock, but before 12 o'clock no entry or information output. So we had to wait three quarters of an hour in front of the barrier. We got a good spot. There... were almost only dog owners in our path, but that didn't bother us.
You have to walk a bit to the beach, up and down the dune, but once you get there, it's absolutely beautiful. Light sandy beach, beach bar and WC available. Simply pure relaxation.
The campsite itself is large and offers a lot: indoor pool, stand up paddling + canoeing (but we didn't do it), entertainment program for kids and various evening activities (but we didn't use them either).
The sanitary facilities were cleaned properly once a day, but you couldn't always see it. There were cobwebs on the ceilings, the hand dryer was broken 3 times during our stay and beeped for 2 days.
The showers were ok. But in the cabins for freshening up/brushing teeth there wasn't even a garbage can.
Personally, I still managed and was able to enjoy my vacation.
The children used the swimming pool in the evening and loved it. There were plenty of playgrounds and campfires were also made for the kids.Automatisk oversat. - Frank H.August 2021Positive-NegativExpensive, customers unfriendlyWe will never book here again!Although we were unable to visit this campsite, I can NOT recommend it.
Very customer-unfriendly, cheeky on the phone and questionable in terms of consumer protection law when canceling.
To understand: We booked 3 days for mid-August this year, at a time when the Netherlands was not yet a high incidence... area. Unfortunately, this situation changed and it was no longer possible for us to travel from Germany under these circumstances without risk. With 2 children (2 and 4 years old) we would have had to go into quarantine after our camping vacation. Unfortunately, our children are not vaccinated against Covid. We hoped for some goodwill from the campsite owner when we canceled. We were aware of RECRON's very "blatant" cancellation conditions. (75% if canceled within two and one month, 90% within one month) Nevertheless, we canceled 3 weeks before arrival.
The campsite insisted on 90% of the payment. So we received 10% of the 100% we had already paid. No concessions, no friendly contact. We were immediately referred to the cancellation conditions. Even the tourist tax of €28 was charged in the fees. However, a company only has to pay this when a guest arrives. A €2 card deposit was also charged. (This has since been transferred back to us).
There was no response at all to correspondence.
Absolute rip-off. We are now paying €167.20 for a vacation (at a campsite that does not incur any costs as a result and our pitch may be rented out) that we cannot spend.
In previous comments you can read that the boss is not necessarily to be mentioned positively. We agree with this 100%. This kind of treatment of customers is not hospitable. What a shame!!!
Think carefully about whether you would like to make a booking under such circumstances.Automatisk oversat. - Jörg Z.September 2020PositiveCourse really nice Not too far from the beach Very helpful, friendly and uncomplicated staff Many play options for children (including horse riding) nice bathroomNegativHelicopter noise particularly annoying in the morning and eveningNice camping quite close to the sea, helicopters annoyingReally beautifully laid out site with spacious pitches and lots of activities for children (playgrounds, football pitch, horse riding, bouncy pitches...). Staff very nice and helpful and easy to contact with any questions or problems. I can't comment on the sanitary facilities as we didn't use them.... The nearby helicopter airfield limits the peace and quiet and thus the relaxation factor, as there is a lot of noise when landing and taking off, especially in the mornings and evenings...Automatisk oversat.
- Lin K.August 2020PositiveBeautiful beach nearby Nice restaurant on site Riding stableNegativSanitary could be cleanerBeautiful campsiteThe campsite is beautifully laid out. The beautiful beach is just a few minutes away on foot or by bike. The location between Julianadorp and Den Helder is also perfect for shopping and sightseeing. Cycle path borders directly on the campsite. Tip for families: "Kinderboerderij Den Helder", which can... be easily combined with a short bike ride along the dunes.
Pitches are large enough (there are two categories, all have electricity, not all have water on site). Pitches are mowed/cleaned on arrival/departure.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Sanitary facilities could be much cleaner, we never had to queue even at peak times.
There is a building with dishwashers, oven, stove, in front of it there is seating for eating the food prepared there. We especially loved the dishwasher.
Lots to see and do!
The riding stable on site was the highlight for our daughter.
There is entertainment and an indoor pool, which we didn't use because of the pandemic.
A canoe tour directly at the campsite, highly recommended! After about 45 minutes in the direction of Den Helder, there is a small landing stage from where you can take a break in a typical Dutch pancake house.
The site is not responsible for the national corona guidelines. There were only a few (German) tourists wearing a mask.
There is also no small store on the square. There is only a bistro where you can buy bread rolls and ingredients for breakfast in the morning.
Conclusion: The campsite is great for a great vacation in a quieter area south of Den Helder.Automatisk oversat. - Sonja A.July 2020Positivegreat location, canoeing, cycling, swimming in the pool, close to the beachNegativthe business behaviorBeautiful, but customer-unfriendlyThis was our favorite campsite in the Netherlands so far. For us with our two children (6+9), everything was just right. Now, unfortunately, we had to cancel our October vacation due to the current travel warning for the area... and were hoping for goodwill. In one form or another. Instead, they insisted... on withholding 90% of the total amount, which was €360.
A concession was refused several times. Conclusion: payment methods are absolutely customer-unfriendly. We have now rebooked for the Baltic Sea. We will simply pay on departure, without prepayment! And we are sad that this has ruined our favorite travel destination. This campsite won't be seeing us again any time soon... so always read the terms and conditions carefully!Automatisk oversat. - Arndt K.July 2020PositiveNice place, friendly staffNegativSanitary too little, disposal of cleaning water impossibleBeautiful campsiteWe were with 1 child (7 years) and 2 adults with caravan 2 weeks on the beautiful place. (Comfort pitch)
First of all: We liked it very much!
There are nice things and less nice things.
First of all, all the staff are absolutely friendly and very helpful! The site is always clean, there is nothing lying... around anywhere, the cleaning ladies were always very diligent, the pitches are big enough for us with a good 100m2, electricity 10A, fresh and waste water directly at the pitch, restaurant very good, snack bar too, about 600m from reception to the well-kept sandy beach with a great beach pavilion.
Now to the negative things we noticed:
We are not sensitive, but it is an absolute NO GO to dispose of the cleaning water of the sanitary building in the dish sink! Toilets and showers are too few for the number of people in the main season in my opinion as at peak times there were only 5 men's toilets to queue in. Then the cleaning ladies should not clean the areas at this time either! The swimming pool needs a general cleaning. In the area of the bubble loungers rusty dirty, dark discolored, simply disgusting. Unfortunately there was no supervision, making it very noisy and wild!
The concrete tubes on the playground were closed for over 2 weeks because they were "freshly painted". There probably hasn't been a volleyball net for a long time. The WLAN was a disaster! Connecting with several tested devices was almost impossible. Sometimes it worked for a few minutes, then there was no connection again.
But all in all a nice place that we will not visit again for the time being, not for the reasons described above, but because we want to see something different every year.Automatisk oversat. - Karsten N.October 2019PositiveWide range of leisure activities, dogs welcome, friendly staffGreat placeWell-kept site 500m from the beach. Plots with plants and open spaces: something for everyone. Several playgrounds for all ages. Indoor swimming pool free of charge. Well-managed riding stables with inexpensive riding plus beach rides. Canoe hire on site. Clean and well-kept sanitary facilities. Washing... up with dishwasher: once a day free of charge. Snack bar and restaurant ran on a low flame in October but perfectly fine. Dogs welcome. I cannot confirm the helicopters that were criticized here in the other comment: during our stay about 10 planes flew daily about 300 m away.Automatisk oversat.

- Christiane W.August 2019Positivegood swimming pool, many German children, lots of greenery in the areaNegativThe paths between the mobile homes are gravel paths; unfavorable if the child lies down with the bicycle.Really good placeThe campsite is well located (up to the dunes 600 m from reception), pleasantly separated by hedges/trees, surrounded by a canal. You can go canoeing or stand-up paddling directly from the campsite. The swimming pool is really good; adults can swim their laps between 8am and 10am and the children have... lots of fun on the slide. The food in the restaurant is tasty and reasonably priced. The staff at reception were always courteous and helpful - I've had different experiences in Holland. The beach is beautiful, fine white sand and miles long. The visitors are made up of about 50% German guests and 50% Dutch. Lots of German children, so the kids can explore the campsite with their peers. The children's entertainment is only in Dutch. There are lots of dogs on the campsite and they all get along well. In 2 weeks I heard dogs barking once, otherwise everything was quiet. Overall a place for a relaxing vacation!!!Automatisk oversat.
- K. S.July 2019PositiveGreat beach with great waves, indoor pool with slide, free use of dishwasher once a dayNegativNo disadvantagesDream beach vacationWe stayed here for 14 days in July/August for the first time. Our children (13 and 10) loved the beach, the great waves and the indoor pool. The pitch is spacious, the sanitary facilities felt like they were always cleaned and you get bread rolls every day. The playgrounds are also very good and we enjoyed visiting them. We will definitely be back.Automatisk oversat.
- B. B.June 2019PositiveCentral starting point, great sanitary facilities and good value for moneyNegativNearest shopping facilities relatively far, North Sea beach also a bit farBeautiful placeWe stayed on the site for 3 nights in June, we had booked in advance. The weather was not kind to us, it rained often and heavily and there were huge puddles on the pitch in places. Otherwise, the site is beautiful, there is a free indoor pool and the sanitary facilities are great and clean. The restaurant... was unfortunately closed, probably because it's not so busy on weekdays. You could order bread rolls in advance and there is a very small kiosk. The staff are very friendly. Unfortunately, the North Sea is quite a distance away. But you can cycle to the dunes. The site is also very suitable for trips to den Helder or Texel.Automatisk oversat.
- Andre D.April 2019PositiveGreat cycle path network directly accessible from the campsite. Close to the beach.NegativFew sanitary facilities for the number of pitches.Nice place on the North Sea coastNice place near the beach. Unfortunately the sanitary facilities and the swimming pool are a bit outdated. The water slide in the swimming pool was out of order and that doesn't seem to have happened recently.Automatisk oversat.
- Michael S.October 2018PositiveBeach, Peace, Playgrounds, Stay-cooking roomNegativNothing... :-)Autumn at Noorder SandtWe stayed here for 6 nights with our kids (6+12) and were very impressed. Beautiful sanitary facilities and an extra room for cooking, washing up and with seating. The beach is a 10-minute walk away and not overcrowded (at least not in the fall). Den Helder is only a few kilometers away and invites you... to explore. Not to forget the swimming pool, which was included in the price, not huge, but with a slide and never really full. We are considering coming back this fall...Automatisk oversat.
- Daniela B.July 2018PositiveLocation, proximity to the beachNegativSanitary cleanlinessBeautiful place - with some weaknessesWe stayed there for 14 days in July. Great location, not far from the beach (within walking distance). A great kilometer-long, wide sandy beach. The North Sea was super, great for swimming, beautiful beach houses, lovely cycle paths through the dunes. At the campsite you can get bread rolls in the morning... and ice cream and fast food in the snack bar during the day. To go shopping (shopping center with several stores) you have to go a short distance by car or bike. Children's entertainment is offered, W-lan not so great. When the place is full, the sanitary facilities are scarce and only moderately cleaned (and also far too little!!! usually only once a day and then in the morning at peak times) The cleaning is done by a company, not employees of the Camingplatz and unfortunately you notice that!!!! Since we had great weather and everything else was good, we could live with the lack of cleanliness. We won't be going there again in the high season. Otherwise, the place has everything you need, even kitchen with oven for free use, dishwasher 1x a day free, indoor pool found our children great. This was always well attended despite the great weather. The ladies and gentlemen at the reception and in the snack bar were always very nice!Automatisk oversat.
- Heiko R.May 2018PositiveChild-friendlyNegativPoor WLANBeautiful family placeVery nicely located campsite. The staff are very friendly and the wash houses are cleaned several times a day. - Frank M.April 2017Beautiful campsiteWe, two adults and two teenagers (13 and 16), visited the North Sea in Holland for the first time. The campsite is a pleasant distance from the North Sea. The pitches are large enough. The sanitary blocks were always very well maintained. The showers were clean and nice and warm. The site is large but... well maintained. The dishwashers are free of charge once a day. The canteen kitchen is also great and can be used free of charge. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There were a lot of dogs on the site, but nowhere were their droppings to be seen. We enjoyed camping there. If the opportunity arises, we will gladly come back to the site.Automatisk oversat.
- Kiki s.April 2017PositiveSwimming poolbeautiful location in the middle of the tulip fieldsWe stayed at this campsite with 2 adults and 2 teenagers in the week before Easter and were very satisfied. The staff were friendly, all spoke German and we went to the restaurant a few times, it tasted good. We didn't use the snack bar, which serves snacks from 12-5pm. The bread rolls, which you can... pick up after pre-ordering between 8 and 10 in the evening, are simple baked rolls, ok, but there are better ones. You can hire canoes, handcarts and bicycles, the children's entertainment was in German, we really liked the swimming pool, there is a room for teenagers with pit-pat and pool table, and an outdoor kitchen with stoves and ovens that you could use for free. There is also a skating rink, volleyball net, basketball hoop and a riding stable next door, as well as playgrounds for the younger children. My children loved the dishwashers, which were free to use once a day (one day they didn't work). The showers were hot and you could also use them freely for just under 10 minutes. As there were no vacations in the Netherlands at the time we were there, the site was not yet fully booked. I suspect that the capacities in the sanitary rooms are a bit tight in the high season, the sanitary rooms were clean and the outdoor facilities were not unkempt in my opinion. The new electronic barrier system, the entrance to the swimming pool with card and the electronic lockers in the swimming pool did not always work and the electricity sometimes failed. The short distance to the beach (15 minutes), the tulip fields, Den Helder and Texel, Alkmaar, Amsterdam - we liked the vacation very much and we will definitely come back.Automatisk oversat.
- Simon P.April 2017Positive- swimming pool - small riding arena - Course equipmentNegativ- unkempt square - unkempt wash house - more dogs than people (felt) - WLAN insufficient - no shopping facilitiesThere is potential, but unfortunately not the ambience...Four of us (2E, 2K- 4+8 yrs.) were in Julianadorp for the first time in the first week of the Easter vacation. As we have friends in Callantsoog, we gradually visit the campsites in the surrounding area year after year. Due to bad experiences, we never wanted to visit campsites where dogs were allowed... again, but this proved to be difficult or even impossible north of Callantsoog. As our first impression of the website and the pitches on offer was generally positive, we opted for a Comfort pitch at Camping t' Noorder Sandt this year. On arrival, the reception and briefing were uncomplicated and friendly. What was already noticeable on the way to the pitch was the generally unkempt impression of the roadsides. There were piles of earth, green waste and other garbage lying around in many places (but they slowly started to tidy up over the course of the week). The pitch was a little tight at around 100 m², but was big enough for a caravan, awning and car (it was just difficult to make out the exact boundaries). The facilities with 10 A electricity, fresh water and waste water on the pitch were up to modern standards. The centrally located wash house is accessible from two sides, which often caused an enormous draught as the doors are not self-closing. The sanitary facilities were looked after all day by the cleaning lady, who unfortunately focused more on entertaining the visitors and less on cleaning (she sprayed huge amounts of fragrances to counteract the usual odors). The EasyBe dishwashers, which are increasingly common on campsites, worked only moderately, if at all, as has been the case everywhere so far. The showers could be used for up to 8 minutes at no extra cost, but the amount of water and force of the jet varied greatly from cabin to cabin; see above for cleanliness. The swimming pool is simple, but with its slide, a small children's pool and the bubble jets it is perfectly adequate for spending a few hours there in bad weather. In the morning between 8.00 & 9.00 a.m., adults are even allowed to swim laps alone without being animated by raging children. The riding arena is particularly suitable for children who bring their own equipment and can already ride a little. However, younger children are given a few laps of the arena free of charge, which was (still) enough for my younger daughter. What else is there to say? - Unfortunately, there are no shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity. The nearest supermarket is a good 3 km away in the center of Julianadorp, but this is easy to reach by bike. The site seems to be a paradise for dog owners (it felt like there were more dogs than people on the site). Despite the large number of four-legged friends, I must honestly admit that I couldn't find any solid droppings on the site itself. However, there was always an uneasy feeling. All in all, the site simply doesn't exude any charm; the ambience doesn't exactly invite you to feel at home, although the potential to do so would certainly be there. It was therefore our first and last visit to t'Noorder Sandt!Automatisk oversat.
